Happy Flag Day Everyone! I have a flag story to share: I have always loved seeing an American Flag waving on residential property as kid. I had always wanted a flag for our own property when we bought our home in March of 1991. Well one day that dream came true in the month of August 8th 2001 when we garnered enough money to buy a flag pole and flag for our property. So I went to Jon's flags in Riverside to pick and buy our flag pole; I was greeted by a lovely sales woman and she showed me the many different heights and options from which to choose from in her catalog. I opted for the 25ft commercial Aluminum with a gold ball atop the pole; and she proceeded to tell me that that particular pole was on back order and that I'd have to wait a few weeks for it to be in stock and ready for pick-up. I agreed, put a deposit on it and signed the sales receipt. In the meantime as I waited for the order to come in; that infamous horrific day occurred 9/11. Well you know what happened then after that day; sales of American flags went through the roof. Flag companies across this nation couldn't keep sewn flags on their shelves. A week after that event, I got a call from Jon's flags saying my pole had arrived but there was a problem with the order that I had to come in to their store. Upon arrival I saw there was a line about 1 mile long with people buying flags, American flags. I went to "WILL CALL" to pick up the order and that's when I got the bad news that they could no longer honor the price I was quoted for the Flag and that it would cost me an additional $300 dollars. I thought they were kidding at 1st but they weren't, I left dejected and a bit upset at the fact that I had a signed receipt. Well, my Greg got home and noticed I was upset about something and he asked me what the matter was, I told him about our flag pole. It was then he Grab the receipt out of my hand and said we will just see about that and off we went with his BIG tractor trailer Rig to Jon's flag. He marched right up to WILL CALL, asked for the owner and confronted him with receipt in hand and proclaimed "what do you mean you can't honor this price"????!!!! People in line were a bit shocked and unnerved by his tone and the owner of the shop explained about the supply and demand factor in the pricing of the pole. Greg exclaimed "YOUR KIDDING ME RIGHT?"!!! "You quoted us a price, we signed for it, and this friggin receipt is the contract for that price and I demand our flag pole now!" The owner proceeded to try to make his argument but Greg made such a scene and commotion in the store that in the end we got our flag pole for the quoted original price as long as we promised to never shop there again. Our flag is now proudly flown in our front yard to this day . read more

I went to Jon's and purchased (1) US flag, 3 by 5, super tex made by Annin and (1) USMC flag 3 by 5, made by Valley Forge. When I went to pay, I was shocked by the total amount $88.43. I asked the salesperson why so much? The US flag was $42.95 and the USMC flag was $39.00. I asked why the cheaper version of the USMC flag costs almost as much as the US flag. The crafty salesperson said, "Well we try to past on the savings of the US flags to our customers." I paid for them went home and found the same flags by Annin and Valley Forge for total of $42.31. I returned the 2 very expensive flags to Jon's the next day. (Thumbs up for that) Thank goodness for Amazon no slick salesperson, who insults your intelligence. Plus I got free 2 day shipping. Stay way this store is outrageously expensive. read more

Hello i had a really good experience and excellent customer service. Jon's Flag and Poles is a prime example of customer service done well. Kathy and I spoke about a Betsy Ross Flag framed they had in their store on the wall 7 months ago. I asked if it was for sale. At that time it was not. I really wanted the Flag. I left my contact info so if they ever decided to sell the flag and frame, I would be interested. Kathy informed me that she would call me if they decided to sell. In the last 7 months I totally forgot about the Flag and figured that they would never sell the Betsy Ross Flag with frame Yesterday, Kathy called me and left a message that the Betsy Ross Flag that I inquired about 7 months earlier was available for sale. Kathy keep her word and followed up with me giving me the first opportunity to purchase the Betsy Ross Flag with frame. I was completely surprise and impressive of the level of customer service, follow-up but most importantly Kathy keeping her word contacting me after all this time after my initial inquiry 7 months earlier. Kathy and staff is what makes this remarkable. Not being a huge company, they have many different types of flags, military apparel and other lines of apparel that keeps them busy.
