She is a lifesaver! Another floral company in the area called me the night before leaving for my wedding to let me know that the batch of the flowers they got in for my bouquet were all bad, so I was scrambling for a very last minute and specific set of flowers. Maggie May was the florist for our wedding of 150 guests. She was recommended by a family member who works in the event industry. When I was looking for a florist, I interviewed and got quotes from maybe 4 vendors before talking to Maggie. She was by far the easiest to get in touch with and made it easy to get a quote. After our wedding, we got so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the flowers were. The flowers at the reception truly were stunning. My bouquet was the perfect size, the flowers were fresh, and it was put together very well. I didn't have an exact theme in mind, I just wanted shades of pink and white with premium flowers and orchids. I let Maggie and her flower power run the show. See the pictures for how it turned out. The bridesmaids bouquets were ordered to be white, and white they came. They were a little smaller and bouncier than I thought they would be, and they didn't really tie in with my bouquet at all, but they were cute. The corsages that she makes are made with a pearl band instead of elastic. This is a small detail that makes all the difference, and made my mother very happy. Why get all dressed up just to put an elastic band around your wrist? Pearl corsages all the way. My personal favorite was the trumpet vase and vines at our escort table. This was truly a piece of art and looked STUNNING. We had a simple but elegant tired cake. We asked Maggie to do the flowers so that it would be cohesive. We just did 3 sets of little flower bunches and she did them beautifully. She then took the liberty to add flowers all the around the base which luckily my wedding coordinator noticed, and she took them off. Unfortunately it ended up in a few photos, but not all of them. Maggie also did our aisle pieces in the church (a few of which did not stay put), the aisle runner, alter pieces, and tea lights. The plan was to reuse the white altar pieces and white aisle pieces for our sweetheart table, but she ended up putting a fresh set of pink flowers on our table. They didn't match the altar pieces that were re-used (because we did all white at the church and pinks at the venue) but I was so happy to be married to my husband that I did not care. The last meeting I had with her over the phone before the wedding was a little frustrating because she was driving and wasn't taking notes. Actually, she asked if I could take notes...so I played secretary. She missed a few small details at the wedding (i.e. wax flowers in my grandma's flower crown instead of spray roses), but nothing that was very serious. When I interviewed Maggie, she said that she would send pictures the day before of our flowers to make sure everything was to our liking. She never sent them and I was too busy to ask or even think about it. If I had said something I'm sure she would have. Maggie is fairly priced, passionate about flowers, and a skilled florist. She added a lot of little details that were so fun to see throughout the day, such as the orchids on our napkins at our sweetheart table. She is also very kind and easy to work with.
