I've enjoyed eating 5411 Empanadas for years, so I was happy to turn on two of my buds to them during our lunch today. The sign says they have 16 varieties, and I have tasted almost all of them over the years. Today I tried chicken curry for the first time, along with the fan favorite beef malbec and the yummy banana Nutella dessert empanada. We decided to eat in at one of the tables, and the baked empanadas came out piping hot after a few minutes wait. The stewed beans in the rice&beans is probably the best I've ever had - and I eat a lot of stewed beans. The pork chops were deliciously seasoned but it was a tad overcooked for me (I like my pork pink) - but this is forgivable knowing that most Americans will faint if served pink pork. I also ordered the bacalao fritter. It's more like a pancake rather than a fritter and you can certainly taste the bacalao. It did not travel well (most crispy fried things don't) but a couple of minutes in my air fryer brought it back to life. I also had the chicken empanada and it was great.
