There is not a lot of seating, so I think they maybe do more takeout, but we were able to snag some seating at a counter while we did a bit of a food crawl in the area. These empanadas are baller, and served by an attentive, efficient staff. We did love all we had, including the beef and shrimp. I love how they branded each so that we knew the flavors. Thimi's Empanadas is located at the corner of Western and Ogden. It's a tiny place, with a minimal seating area (I believe there were three chairs and a counter facing the window). You appreciate the Argentina touches inside and out (murals on the exterior, Lionel Messi photo, etc.). We ordered three empanadas, and they were served to us quickly and piping hot. We were offered one of three types of sauce and we chose chimichurri sauce, though the empanadas were so tasty that they did not really need any enhancement. Each empanada is branded with the name of the filling, for easy identification. My favorite was the beef empanada, and I'd say my lovely wife favored the shrimp empanada. This was such a random discovery! It's a gem with freshly baked empanadas. The restaurant itself is very small with open kitchen. Service was super friendly and quick. The empanadas were flavorful and came with a delicious dipping sauce with Cilantro. I'm shocked that I haven't been here sooner! Definitely will come back for other flavors. read more

I've found a new addiction!! Thimi's empanadas. Located on the northeast corner of Ogden and S Western Avenues sits a building with some art on its walls. Inside you will find some of the best empanadas outside of Buenos Aires. I first drove past it then looked up the Yelp reviews and came right back before close. I had the shrimp and chicken & cheese empanada. Both were baked to perfection and stuffed to the max. Combined with their home made chimichurri sauce and my oh my my taste buds were in heaven You have a new fan. I will go out of my way to get these. And the are affordable as well. I watched this establishment open and kept saying I have to try it. But because it sits on the corner of Ogden and Western it's challenging. Whole sitting on the bus I placed my order. The website was easy to navigate and set up an account. I checked their hours and notice 6pm CST close. I hopped off the bus at Roosevelt and walked the 900 ft. When I arrived my order was ready. It was placed in a corrugated box with two sauces. I was so excited to try them by the time I made my salad I had already eaten the shrimp one and it was amazing. Then I ate the Humita (corn and cheese) AMAZING!!! I will definitely be back. The location is cozy and small but it's clean and a couple could eat inside. The empanadas are perfectly baked, aesthetically pleasing and the filling is generous. I was offered Chicken with Cheese empanadas fresh off the oven and they were soft, steaming and savory. The Chimichurri sauce complemented the Beef and held itself against the Shrimp. My favorite ended up being the Spinach and Cheese. The establishment is along a main street so it's easy to find as it's along a corner storefront. There's countertop seating but it looks like the bulk of their orders Is takeout. Y'all know I like to give real honest reviews! First let me say the level of connection and customer support here is AMAZING! This care for people (the customer) comes through in the flavors of the food. I'm a picky eater so I studied the menu before my first visit. I have now been to this establishment 3 times and I'm in love with the beef empanadas and the spinach and cheese empanadas! They are both full of flavor... these are Argentinian style and have egg. That initially scared me because of my pickiness but I LOVE it, can't tell the egg is there taste wise. So don't let that deter you if you are picky like me. I get the chimichurri and red spicy sauce. Today I ended up with a green sauce and it too is just as good as the red sauce. The crew there will make sure to welcome you so all abilities are welcome, they will escort you in for a safe and friendly visit. Parking is street parking and it's competitive but the food is worth it. I got two sauces, two empanadas and a can pop (aka soda) all for $9.00. read more

This place is absolutely amazing and addictive. Great price for delicious food.
