Well I was really hopeful for this dentist based on the reviews saying he truly cared about people and things like that, but turns out in my case they were mostly wrong. I set up my first appointment with him, then with some horrible luck, my car battery died the morning I was supposed to go. When I called and let him know, I changed the appointment to the next coming work day, which was Monday. Unfortunately while focusing on my car and forgetting some previous obligations for Monday, it turned out I wouldn't be able to go that day either. I called and told him that in a voicemail as early as I could Monday morning (I had done voicemail with him before and he returned the call). I also called a few more times throughout the rest of that day. He decided to completely stop answering or returning my calls. I guess based on those occurrences alone he decided he was already done with me as a patient, before I ever saw him. I had apologized in the voicemail and told him I could definitely be there the next day, but wasn't good enough for him. I can somewhat understand the inconvenience for him on my part and how it could make him wary of me, but to just cut me off like that, not even at least pick up the phone and let me know something to the effect that he doesn't want me there now? Not only is it not professional, but the whole process of trying to find a good dentist sucks enough without people like this in the field. Just got off the phone with Dr. Do and after looking at the clock I can't help but feel super compelled to write this review. My parents mostly only speaks Chinese and need a Chinese dentist so I went on a hunt to look for one. Called Dr. Do a few mins before his closing time, he was very transparent and unfortunately he is bilingual in English and Vietnamese. Instead just letting me know he is unable to help he reached out to another Dentist who speaks Chinese. Now what surprised me even further is he reached me out an hour after his office is closed to pass on the information of another dentist. That means we are not even his patient, he is solely doing it out of his good will. And he went above and beyond what's needed to help us. Thank you Dr. Do. Had a pretty throbbing toothache Friday night after eating dinner and couldn't sleep at all. I checked out the positive reviews with Dr. Do and called him Saturday morning to schedule an appointment. Within 30 min, I get a call back to come in for an x-ray. After several x-rays, found out that I had a decay on my tooth that got pretty bad and had to make another visit on Monday to clean out the decay. When I went to see him for the second visit, Dr. Do showed me the x-ray and explained to me the procedure before he went to work. Throughout the cleaning. Dr. Do was meticulous with his tools and also gentle. It was true with all the Yelp reviews that Dr. Do had very good bedside manners and professional. He's straight to the point, concise, doesn't keep his clients waiting too long and takes care of his patients. I can't believe what I'm saying but I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

I put off going to the dentist during the pandemic, and could tell I was starting to have a lot of plaque build up. I'm the type to brush twice a day and floss daily, but still knew I was due for a professional cleaning. Doctor Do used a machine called the calvitron on me and my teeth felt so clean after. Dr. Do is the only dentist I trust. I've been going to him for years now, following him all over town till he permanently moved to Arcadia. I absolutely HATE going to the dentist, but Dr. Do has made my experience bearable every time. He's extremely professional and very gentle. When he noticed how nervous I was, he kept me calm and distracted by telling me funny stories. Which made a big difference because as soon as I'm in that chair, my anxiety kicks in. Dr. Do is the best of the best of dentists. He is a board certified UCLA graduate who also is also a faculty member at UCLA School of Dentistry. He is the dentist that other dentist see when they have dental issues. He's got gentle hands and a gentle soul. He is very good at communicating the patient's needs and he is an excellent clinician. I trust him with my entire families dental needs. He has a clean office and wonderful office staff. I actually look forward to going to the dentist when my family has an appointment with him. I had an emergency dental issue during the weekend. Dr. Do called me back in a timely manner and squeezed me in the following Monday. As usual, he provided excellent painless dentistry and went above and beyond to help me out. He took his time to make sure that I was as comfortable during the whole procedure, explaining everything that he did. I was very happy with the work that he did. The office was very clean and the whole staff was very nice and professional. All costs were explained clearly by Dr. Do's staff before any procedures are done. No hidden costs,pressure tactics or upselling like many other offices. I would highly recommend Dr. Do to anyone who is looking for a great dentist. Dr. Do is not just a regular dentist. Went in for an emergency visit and Dr Do was incredibly accommodating, working me in between two other clients. I needed a service that wasn't covered but he was willing to work out a reasonable price even though i would have had no choice but to pay whatever he asked. Doctor Do, and his staff are simply the best! Very professional and clean office. The staff is always very friendly. After going to other dental offices and being canceled, or rescheduled on, and/or having other offices try to up-sell me on work that wasn't necessary, I was very appreciative of the service that is provided here! I always get a courtesy reminder call of when I have an appointment set up, & I am greeted and taken care of the minute I step foot inside the door. I would definitely recommend Dr. Do to all my family and friends. The office is located next to some motels, and it can be easy to miss, Lord knows I've missed the turn in several times, haha! Dr. Jonathan Do, is as good as it gets. The staff are very very helpful. Getting into see Dr. Do does not take weeks and a act of congress. You can always rely on his advice. I have been going to Dr. Do for over a year now and he always takes his time to make sure you know what the procedure involves and what to expect. My first time at this dental office. Friendly and professional staff, had x-rays done, Dr. Do was very informative on what need it to be done. Everyone has their own beliefs, experience, and pain tolerance when it comes to the dentist. My visit with Dr. Do has completely changed my prospective of the Dentist and I would definitely recommend him to everyone!
