I would discourage anyone from using Nimbly Appliance Repair Service. My recent experience with…read moreNimbly has crushed any faith I had in the business. We called Nimbly in February 2024 for a washing machine repair. Dennis Gallon, the owner arrived and after inspecting the washer, advised the cost of repair was not worth it due to the age and condition of the unit. This is understandable and not unexpected. Dennis offered to sell us a scratch-and-dent washer that was the exact same model, but a different colour. We were not concerned about colour, and it was a good option since it was supposedly the same unit - as we were stacking the appliances and were restricted by the space of the laundry closet. As we are conscious of our spending, scratch-and-dent options are a great fit for us. We purchased it on Feb 4 2024. After looking at the appliance, which had minor cosmetic damage, and again confirming with Dennis that it was the same unit, we agreed to purchase it. We borrowed a friend's truck and transported it home. However, it turns out it was not the same model, and would not fit in the laundry closet. After agreeing to take the return, Dennis stated again "I swear it was the same model" but then claimed that I had damaged it in transit. He had no "before" pictures of the unit's condition prior to me transporting it, and we took care of the appliance during transport. He advised he would return the cost of the washing machine less the part required for him to repair it. There was no admission that he sold me the wrong unit, no apology for the inconvenience caused to me by transporting the unit only to discover it could not be used at my home. Not only that, Dennis sent me an e-transfer with the incorrect amount and still owes me money. Since February 15th, I have sent 4 polite emails asking for an explanation of the amount e-transferred to me) without response. I have also called 4 times calls - 2 of which were answered by staff who took down my info and would return my call - Dennis was unavailable, and never called me back, even when I was told I would get a response by end of day by two different staff. Essentially Dennis lied to us about the unit he sold to us, and has now stolen the money that is owed to us.

Advised us what the likely issue was and called back right away with quote on parts and service. They ordered parts on our email ok and 3 days latter scheduled appointment. Their Service Expert Sam came right before agreed time. What a gentleman - great personality. Completed repairs quickly and spent extra time helping us with some issues removing trays. As a result we found a problem with sign Ivan to amount of gross funky water accumulating below the meat tray above freezer. He also on request removed redundant sliding bars in the meat/cheese tray that were driving us nuts. Total bill was as quoted and very reasonable compared to past experience with appliance repair. Sam cleaned up everything and left us with smiles on our faces.

Ace called last night to say they'd be coming today. I told him the freezer is empty but I plugged it back in and it appears to be working. Added some food last night (3 frozen pizzas, 2 boxes of ribs and a bag of perogies. I had some frozen concentrate left in there from the previous meltdown.) today prior to his arrival I go To check the food and it's thawed again. Guy arrives today puts his hand on the back of the freezer and says it appears to be working as It should. I have a can of frozen juice (no longer frozen) and say this isn't working as it should. He says unplug it let it thaw out and see if it acts up and turns to leave. I'm like where are you going? I unplugged it last week - clearly there is an issue. Finally convinced him to take a further look. He was left unattended for 6 min then said it's fine. If you're going to argue with me I'm leaving and got in his van and left!!! I'm shocked. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not waste your money with this company. Glad this service call is on Frigidaire and not me.

When it was all said and done, the cost was $868.36 to fix the dishwasher. When a technician gives an estimate, one counts on the estimate to decide whether a repair is worth it or not. The first time, the repair was $292.12. OK. The second repair, a few weeks later for the same problem, was $183.96. This required two visits because the technician damaged the seal kit. The third repair, a week after that cost us $292.28. If we had known that the total cost would have been $868.36, we would have made a different decision. Not only that, but Waterloo Appliance Service Ltd. wasn't even decent enough to admit that they had botched the repair.

I identified it as the door gasket ... he explained over the phone about the actual door *glass* slowly accumulating a build up of calcium over the years and to make sure the glass was smooth all the way around. Sure enough, finger test revealed grit build up on the bottom of the glass breaking the seal enough to allow water to leak from bottom front and along front panel. Two minute fix with a dish pad and all good to go. Friendly, good service, helpful, knowledgeable. Five stars from me.

About an hour later, we called to request a refund after finding a better option at Costco with free delivery. The store said a full refund was not possible because delivery was already scheduled, but they agreed to refund $50 back to my Mastercard to match Costco's free delivery. Delivery was scheduled for the next day between 8-11am, and we specifically requested a 15-minute call before arrival, which was agreed to. No one called. At 2pm, we were told deliveries were delayed. Around 4:30pm, the delivery driver called yelling, screaming, claiming we didn't open the door--despite never calling ahead. His behavior toward my husband was rude and unprofessional. As of February 6, the promised $50 refund back to my Mastercard was still not issued. When we called the store, the manager was hostile, made false accusations, refused to listen, and hung up. The store manager made statements that were untrue to justify refusing the $50 refund. Very disappointing experience. Poor communication, unprofessional conduct, and unresolved refund. Save yourself the headache and shop at a reputable big-box store instead.

I do not recommend Dave's Tradeway (also known as Tradeway Appliance Sales and Service) in…read moreCambridge. Tradeway's service is unreliable. I took a rare day off from work recently and drove about 100 kilometres from Toronto to Guelph to help out a friend. I intended to accomplish two things -- help my friend organize his place for his two special needs kids and arrange for his dryer to be fixed A work colleague recommended Dave's Tradeway appliance repair in Cambridge. I contacted Dave's assistant two days in advance of my day off and arranged for Dave to repair my friend's dryer. The assistant was very nice and confirmed Dave would be able to do the repair on the Thursday that I was going to be in Guelph. The assistant said Dave would drop by my friend's place between 5 and 6:30 p.m. on that day. However, he told me Dave would call me on the Thursday morning to confirm. When I received no call from Dave on the Thursday morning, I phoned him myself. Since I was en route, Dave asked me to call back when I got to my friend's place so I could give him the make and model of the dryer. (I didn't have that information with me.) Dave confirmed he would be at my friend's place between 5 and 6:30 p.m. that day. I phoned Dave back when I got to my friend's place about 15 minutes later and gave him the dryer information. Dave called me back a short time later and said he was having difficulty finding information on the dryer, which was an older model. We had a pleasant conversation and Dave once again confirmed he would see me later that day. Dave did not show up at the arranged time and nor did he call me to let me know he wasn't going to make it. I finally called Dave around 6:45 p.m. to find out when he was coming over, but he didn't answer his phone. I waited and waited, but Dave never showed up and he never called or left a message. The following morning I called Tradeway, but no one answered. I then masked my number (so it wouldn't appear on call display) and immediately redialed. Sure enough, the assistant answered. When I told the assistant that Dave had not shown up the day before, he said he didn't know anything about it, but he would "make a note of it" and let Dave know. I did not receive any follow-up call from the assistant or Dave explaining why Dave didn't show up. I consider this to be extremely poor service. If, for some reason, Dave was detained at another job on the Thursday, or changed his mind about doing the repair, a phone call letting me know would have been common courtesy. On the other hand, if Dave's no-show was due to an emergency or accident, I would think the assistant would have known about it or at least called me back later to let me know. This would seem to me to be good basic customer service. I am very disappointed by Tradeway's poor treatment. The unfortunate thing is I would have used Sears' repair service had I not received a recommendation for Dave's Tradeway. And, if I had have used Sears, my friend's dryer would probably be fixed now. I truly regret contacting Tradeway.
