Great cut from Tara at Jon Lori! I came to her after five years of living out of state and I love how she read my mind completely when we talked about my vision. She did a nice job working with the highlights I already had growing out, I feel like I don't even need to recolor right now because it feels brighter. Thanks!! And shout to to Aaron on the hair wash! read more

Jon Lori Salon - Hair Salons Near Me - Fair Haven, New Jersey

Tara Ann gave me the best cut and blow out! The salon is beautiful and inviting. Tara Ann was warm, friendly, and completely understood what I was looking for. I've been traveling to NY for hair for the past ten years because it's so hard to find a good stylist in NJ. Also heard she is the best with color so looking forward to lighten up for the summer. So thankful I finally found someone I love! read more

Wonderful experience from greeting to leaving. Was given a gift certificate. A very relaxing experience. I have curly hair and went to Stephanie as she is Quidad certified for curly hair. My daughter and I long ago admired someone's curls in a restaurant and she told us she has been coming here for years, Stephanie does her hair. My daughter immediately made an appointment. At the time I had not yet embraced my curls, which has recently changed. Stephanie evaluated my hair, then I went to the washing station. Massage chairs and massage hair washing. Stephanie cut my hair and used Quidad products. She showed me how to properly use the products. Put me under the dryer so she could see how my hair dried. When my hair got crunchy and those who have curly hair will understand what I mean by that, she showed me how to soften my hair and finish it. My curls looked amazing and healthy. For those who have curly hair know if the cut is right and you use products that quench your curls, that equals a great hair day. Ps use yelp promo for this salon for money saving offer. I love Jon Lori Salon! I've been going here for the last 3 years after jumping around to different salons in the Red Bank area. I go to Michelle and absolutely love her for both cuts and balayage. The online booking system is great and so is the the vibe in the salon. It's always a great experience and worth the price. read more

Stephanie is awesome! I have been going to her for years. She always listens carefully to what I'm looking for and always pulls it off! Highly recommend her! read more

This is my first time at the salon, and going to Kaitlin. I'm new to the area and asked for a blonde color specialist. Kaitlin did a great job with my cut and color! My husband says it's the best hair cut I have received. That's the best compliment. I referred her to a co-worker also new to the area. I will definitely be back. read more

Wow! I love Jon Lori Salon even more each time I go! I moved to the Jersey Shore from North Jersey about a year ago and received a really nice welcome letter from the salon owner. I decided to give them a shot after reading such great online reviews. I had high expectations because I loved my prior hair dresser. I walked in and they had me at "Hello!" They were so friendly and inviting from the moment I entered. I didn't feel at all uncomfortable, like in some aloof salons. They then introduced me to Dustin, who was very friendly and he did an excellent job conditioning, cutting and styling my hair. I've been going to him for almost a year now and referred my daughter and boyfriend, who also love how he styles their hair. Kudos to Jon Lori for always providing such a great experience! read more

I let my hair go...I know. When I was a corporate girl, nails done every two weeks and the hair cut every six. Things happen, you get laid off and the budget starts to matter. You take a job sailing (Did I wash my hair that month?) and then open your own small business, the last thing you think about is YOU.. I found Jon Lori on Craigslist. Yep, you read right. The folks in NJ are so wary of the CL..shop around for deals. Do your research and don't be naive. I made my appt on a Thursday and was able to get in the following Tuesday. I felt like I walked into the salon like a bat out of hell (with one messy mop). I had meetings in the city all morning and was running a tad late. Gave them a ring regarding my tardiness, the receptionist, also a pleasure, said "no problem, Jilly, see you in a bit!" Being addressed by someone who uses your name in the conversation you really don't know is an sincere treat these days!! My stylist Stephanie was awesome! I guess I had that typical pre-conceived notion that the salon (for its location) was going to be nose up. Never once did it feel this way. Steph was so down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. I let her make the calls which weren't major by any means. A color glaze and a much needed hair cut later, I felt like the Beck girl when I left. And my hair, 3 weeks later is still thanking Stephanie. I stopped using junking products for which she advised and backed away from washing every day. So, to conclude, 5 stars to Steph, her family ( mom & dad are Jon and Lori) and the staff for making a drowned rat feel like a million bucks!! Hope to be back soon! read more

Hello My name is Ginny Marinello. I have had such a hard time finding a salon that I trust. My hair is thin, wavy, and can get frizz. I have seen two of the hair dressers there and they both worked so well with my hair. It's a little far from my house but worth the drive. It's a beautiful place and feels like a bit of a oasis. Excited to go again read more

Have been there 2 times and both times, I didnt love my experience. The stylist was fine but rushed through my color. Then when checking out, I was told no credit cards and then when I told them I wish someone was clear regarding their policy when I booked my appointment, they said "oh well..its the policy sorry". The made an exception and took my credit card, but made me feel bad about it and told me that only this one time would they make an exception. I think there are way better salons in the area to visit and was not impressed by this "stuffy" salon. read more

Been here twice - once for highlights/wash/trim/style and once for a touchup/wash/blowout. This place comes down to service service service - as good as it gets. Nice girls, refreshments, great products - what more can you want? Expect to drop a ton of $$$$ for your services though. But hey, it's Fair Haven, not Bayville! read more

Be careful regarding tacked on costs for services you did not request. While my color and cut was extremely well done, I was charged for a service that I did not request. I also left without getting a blowout, not realizing that the blowout was included in the cost of the cut. I wish my stylist had told me that she was going to be putting something on my hair that was going to cost me an additional $60-$80 and that the blowout was included so I might as well receive it. Had I been made aware that I would be receiving an additional service for an additional cost I would have said no. I am happy with the way my hair looks but I feel deceived and never would have gotten my hair done if I knew I would be spending $80 more than I was intending. read more

I've had my hair done twice by Christina. Left both times feeling and looking amazing. Girls at the salon are all very welcoming. Amazing experience each time. Can't wait to go back!!! read more

I've been going here for years and at first I would only see Jaime. But since they are very popular hear I took the leap to try other stylists. Time after Time never disappointed. Also they really are so accommodating and I notice they take pride in understanding the latest and newest hair care trends. Some salons don't keep up with the times but here they sure do!!! read more

Just got my hair highlighted for the first time, and had an incredible incredible experience! As I had my hair washed, my back reclined and feet plopped up while the massage turned on inside the chair. Had my first appointment with Stephanie last Saturday! I couldn't be more pleased with my hair. The cut and color are perfect. After a consultation she went right to work and its exactly what I wanted. Everyone in the salon were so friendly and so eager to make me feel comfortable. I can't wait to go back! read more

Jon Lori salon exceeded my expectations . We are new to the area so wanted to try out, and it was fantastic. I had 2 blowouts there with Michelle and Cindy and am already excited to go back. I especially loved the massage chairs at the sink. All the assistants are wonder and the salon is beautiful. Thanks Jon Lori! read more

First got my hair blown out here and the girl did a great job even on my thick wavy hair. I was in the market for a new hairdresser so decided to get my hair cut there next time. The girl used thinning shears ALL over my hair- had I known the damage this would have caused I would have stopped her immediately!!! Ever since that haircut which was over a year ago my hair has been horrible from the million layers put in by the thinning shears. I had hairs poking out in every direction- needless to say I wore my hair up mostly. When I went to a different salon not only could they see my problem, but they also told me one side of my hair was longer than the other- great! Took about a year to get my hair back to normal and now I know to stay very far from thinning shears. It's too bad- the salon seems very professional and the blow out was nice, but $70- something to get my hair hacked? No thanks. read more

Had my hair done by Jillian. She did the Ombre Hair technique. She did an amazing job. Very Pleasant salon, relaxing and very knowledgeable! Can't wait to go back! read more

I love this salon. My work schedule is always changing, so I'm a last minute person when I comes to appointments. And I know that no matter who's available that day, I'm going to get a great haircut. Highly professional staff. Relaxing environment. read more

I have been going to Jon Lori for years. Where they set themselves apart is their amazing customer service and compassion. My mother, who has Alzheimer's Disease and I would come to get our hair done by Pam. From the moment we walked in the door, everyone made a fuss over my mother and made her feel at home. Even when she would wander, the staff would never make her feel anything but at home. Recently, my husband died and I desperately needed my hair done--it was the day before Christmas Eve and I knew it would be near impossible. By some incredible circumstance, Giovanna had a last minute cancellation. When she heard about my circumstance, she made it her business to take care of me and not only cut and style my hair, which the appointment had been for, but quickly provided a much-needed color for my recently acquired greys. Giovanna had never met me before! She was a bright spot in an otherwise horrible day. The compassion comes from the top--Jon and Lori and their entire family--children and staff, could not be kinder. By the way, there does not exist the crazy client hording that other salons allow. If your regular person is not available, you can make an appointment with anyone who is, without any hard feelings. This is a first-class, well-operated salon. read more

I used a Yelp deal to get my hair colored by Karen. She is phenomenal. Not only did she do a great job on my coloring and explain every step of the process, but when I came back because the color washed out kinda bright for my taste, she toned it down for free. The staff is very friendly and they will give you water, coffee, snacks while you wait, and give you magazines to read if you forgot to pick one up.The only con is that it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for in hair care, customer service, and atmosphere. read more

LOVE this Salon! Everyone beyond nice and incredibly skilled. Highly recommend this salon. My biggest worry moving here a year ago, who will cut and do my color like my old place, which did it perfectly. Michelle does it BETTER! :) read more

I've been to many high end salons in NYC and when I moved down to Middletown I was concerned I wouldn't be able to find a good colorist/stylist. Well, I founds a gem, Stephanie. My hair color never looked so amazing- she understood everything I was looking for in a natural color/highlights. The staff at JonLori is amazing, friendly accommodating. You don't feel like your out of place when you walk in the door. I recently moved to FL and Stephanie was sweet enough to give me formula so I that I can have the same results. read more

I went here because it was close to home and I needed a hair cut. I am so glad I did. Kaitlin does a wonderful job with my very fine, pin straight hair. She really knows how to cut it to get the most volume out of it. They are a very large salon, but the staff are always friendly and treat you like the only one there. I have always been offered a beverage, tea, coffee, wine, etc which is a nice touch. read more

I'm a local to the area and have heard great things about the salon. Seeing the new client special, I had to give Jon Lori Salon a try. And I'm so happy I did! Everyone in the salon makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Stylists are knowledgeable and talented - providing suggestions on how to better your hair... without feeling like you are being hounded to buy product and additional services (huge pet peeve at salons)! I've returned again for color and blow out and once again really pleased with this place. I've referred two friends since, and will continue to frequent JL Salon! read more

This salon has been here a long time with a big following, But they let me down for my son's wedding. I'm from out of town and Jon Lori was recommended for hair and makeup. I scheduled a trial run for hair on Thurs night 10/6/16 for the rehearsal dinner, and stephanie was enthusiastic, recommended a curly blowout, and it was great. Sat morning 10/8 at 9, the day of the wedding, this young lady was definitely distracted. She was so subdued compared to Thurs night. She started to work on my hair dry. I had to remind her that my hair was to be washed. The stylist next to her was watching, a bit concerned and suggested adding oil for some shine. The blowout was ordinary, nothing like the trial run -- and it looked it in the wedding pictures. Makeup was a total disaster. I have my makeup done often for TV so I know what good is. I have no crepe or lines in my face but by the time this artist finished adding layers of makeup, and powder I was full of lines and crevices. That she thought this looked good was shocking. She agreed it was too much powder, sponged it off, and my skin was smooth again, but I didn't have the polished makeup artist look I'd hoped to have. She then repeated it with my sister giving her ruddy complexion a hearty dose of blush. Close to $300 without a trace of glamour. I have lots of pictures to remind me! read more

I've been going to Pam for a couple of years. It wasn't easy finding a new stylist. She is a true professional and she knows not only to cut and color but does an amazing job with adding extensions. I highly recommend Pam!!! Jon Lori Salon is also a really great salon overall. read more

Beautiful salon with a small town feel. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Jade is amazing.

Ive been coming here for a while now and I love coming! I'd absolutely would recommend Sean! So attentive to detail and my Baliage (don't know how to spell it!) looks so beautiful still 6 weeks later! My blond is exactly what I wanted! He is very consistent so I know every time I go I'm getting he best! I don't have a ton of time to spend in my hair and you know you get a great hair cut when you don't have to do much to it in the morning! I just had my 5 year old sons hair cut today by Sean for the first time and it's perfect! My son gets nervous getting his hair cut but Sean became his best friend! It so amazing to see the confidence in my son now by a haircut! Thank you for everything! read more

The salon is always clean, staff is friendly, and there isn't a better place to get your hair dyed. The products they use are fantastic. I have been going to Jon Lori for over 16 years and I really wouldn't trust my color to anyone but Annette. I have difficult, coarse thick hair and she always brings out the best in it, keeps me styled and colored appropriately for my age, the times and my hair. My daughters have used various stylists for proms, cuts, and blow outs--we are always happy with the attention and service of everyone here--from Rosemary and the girls at reception to the apprentice shampooing to our stylist--everyone is professional and interested in you having the best hair experience you can. I used to go to a big name salon in the city with big attitude to match but I've never felt the need to go back. I'm always happy and feel I look my best leaving this salon. read more

I recently visited Jon Lori after going to the same hairdresser for 15 years. I moved to Red Bank almost three years ago so I wanted to find someone local. I chose Jon Lori because I have curly hair and wanted to try a Ouidad cut, which I never had done before. I am so glad I came here! Stephanie is great! She reshaped my layers and now two months later my hair is longer and falls better than it ever did. I also loved the blow out she gave me and the hair products that she recommended. I highly recommend Stephanie and Jon Lori salon. I even made my next appointment before I walked out of the salon. This is my new place! read more

I went to Jon Lori because a) I live in the neighborhood and wanted to try it out, and b) because my haircut was a circus and I needed someone to straighten it out. Pam cut my hair, and she did a great job. The salon itself is very bright and the people are friendly. It had a relaxed, laid back feeling, and I didn't feel out of place wearing a sweatshirt and no makeup, like in other salons I'd been to. I am happy with my haircut, and I will be going back! read more

I love this salon and it will be the first one that I will return to and be faithful to. Stephanie had the task of taking on my ridiculous requests and after a lengthy consultation and another half a day of hard work I looked fabulous. Not only was she awesome, but the entire staff was so friendly and accommodating, always offered me water, tea, coffee, bagels, etc., and they didn't try shoving overpriced products down my throat when I left like every other salon I've been to. I'm actually going to call tomorrow to schedule my next appointment! read more
