Just got the worst haircut of my life in this place. If Francesca doesn't know how to do a basic butterfly cut then she shouldn't be cutting hair to begin with. After spending a couple days doing some research on local hair salons I decided to go with Fox and Jane. Biggest mistake I've ever made. I showed the picture of a butterfly cut, my hair was very long so I wanted to cut it medium length, and get basically the same haircut I had before, just more layered and more face frames. A butterfly cut. I showed Francesca multiple pictures of what I wanted. She cuts my hair, and while she starts blowing it out, I'm thinking where did all my hair go? She cut my hair collarbone length, gave me a wolfcut mullets, with layers all around as short as my bangs. She didn't even get my bangs right. I asked her for arched bangs, shorter in the middle, longer on the sides, and my bangs are straight as if a mom of a 5th grader with zero hair cutting experience gave them to me. After she was done, she kept telling me how sorry she was, and how the grow out process would be good. She knew exactly how bad she messed it up. She did it so bad, and so far from what I wanted, that I can't believe it wasn't on purpose. There's just no way. I just can't fathom that someone who doesn't know how to do anything beyond Utah curls is allowed to work as a hairstylist. Now the hair I spent 2 WHOLE YEARS growing out is all gone. How she managed to do this I don't know. Her incompetence is palpable. I'm attaching the picture I showed her, my hair after and my hair before inexperienced Francesca cut it. I can't put my hair up, I can't style it right, it looks like a disfigured bowl cut. I have to look like this for at least the next 5 months of my life. I feel horrible, and it's because of incompetent people who should never come close to scissors ever again. read more

The people at fox and Jane are phenomenal!! I'm absolutely thrilled there's a location in Red Bank. Check-in was a breeze and their new salon is clean, bright and aesthetically pleasing. There's been many times I've gotten my hair done in salons and went home to see a completely different color in my hair- not here! My stylist Zona was extremely personable and friendly. I was able to get my work done and had great conversations with her when I wasn't too swamped on emails. It's been hard to find any free time in my schedule lately so being able to work from the salon chair was an amazing experience. I was first introduced to Alison and her talent a couple of years ago, and now am so grateful for having her salon just a few blocks away from my home! sooooooooo worth it - got my first curly cut ever and Kristie was THE BEST! she went through everything with me, step by step, styled my hair, asked me what I was looking for and what I usually did and used in my hair and when all was said and done, she followed up a couple days later!! Checking in on how I was liking my hair and if i needed any tips or product recs. There is literally no other salon that I've been to that's done this, but to be fair I've never been to a salon that's had specialists for curly hair. Will definitely be coming back!! Little did I know I was going to get so lucky to meet one of the most talented hair dressers I have ever had, Zona! Zona is the best hands down. Her artistry for cut and color shines through. I had a very disappointing experience at this salon. The haircut I received McClain from was completely uneven and poorly done -- far from what I asked for. Despite the obvious issues with the cut, I was still charged in full. When I raised my concerns, there was no real effort to resolve the situation or make it right. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability and attention to customer satisfaction left me very frustrated.
