When I started going to her I had dark reddish brown hair and she slowly and safely transformed me to the blonde tone I am and love today. I have been icy blonde as well as many different tones and each time I leave in love. The front desk is also so kind and helpful, I know at times I am the worst to get in for a touch up but they always manage to get me in. I would be lost without Lindsey and this salon.

Instead, I started using a place in Asbury but realized a few weeks ago that, although the new place was good with color, there was no "human connection," it was very expensive, and I'd get bounced around on occasion from my original stylist (with no advanced notice). Parking in Asbury is also becoming a nightmare. Anyway, my last visit was way overpriced for only a few highlights and a root touch-up (no blow-dry or anything), so I decided to go back to Vanity 18 as it is only 10-15 minutes farther down Main Street . . . and I actually missed Teresa. Very smart move! I returned to Vanity 18 only to discover that they now have a 10-minute hair color treatment, which is AWESOME, not to mention that Teresa did the best highlight job (with a few lowlights for effect) that I've have ever had (no joke), and for much less than the Asbury place. (Also, Annette works miracles with "senior" hair; you'd have to see it to believe it!) Wait, it gets better: New(ish) Saturday summer hours are from 6 A.M. till 12 P.M. (noon). I don't know about you, but I have no interest in driving in shore traffic to get my hair done on a Saturday. That fact that Teresa accommodates "locals" needs no embellishing; she clearly considers her clients. (And she clearly considers others who are not her clients with much charity, which makes me even happier to patronize her shop.) So, basically, between that and the 10-minute color, I can rightfully be FINISHED with my hair appointment by 9 A.M. on a Saturday. Are you kidding? Sign me up! Oh, and guess what else? I was there for a 7:15 A.M. root touch-up this past weekend, and she treated me to a breakfast sandwich (they were ordering out)! (Coffee is always free.) Anyway, I could go on and on about many other "extras" that she has done, but I think I've made my point. I am sorry I ever left, but it was a good lesson learned, and I am elated to be back. I'm not sure if this was provided by the salon or the bride, but there was a table in the center of the salon which had bagels, muffins, juice, mimosas and water for us to enjoy while waiting. Since we couldn't all have appointments at once, it was nice to be able to have a little nosh. I believe there were two or three stylists working with our group. Cassie did my hair and did a great job. I knew I wanted some sort of flowy curls with half of my hair out of my face, but I left the rest up to Cassie's expertise. Cassie and a few other stylists strategized and then she got to work. It took a while to curl my hair but my hair is very thick and wavy so that's expected. She meticulously went through each section. I was very happy with the end result. I only wish a few more pins and spray had been used. I had to run back to the salon to pick up a friend a little after my appointment and another stylist was able to touch me up which helped the style last through most of the night. The whole party, especially the bride, looked gorgeous so I would certainly recommend Salon Concrete for your wedding or formal hair needs.

The left side of my hair was actually longer in the front than it was in the back, while the right side was significantly shorter in the front than in the back as it's supposed to be with face-framing. Backstory: I have been in Boston for a summer internship but came home to NJ for one weekend and decided to get my hair done here since my mom raves about Salon Concrete all the time. I noticed the unevenness when I got back to Boston and figured they wouldn't mind fixing it up a little for me when I got back...WRONG! I just called Salon Concrete, granted it's been a while since I figured it didn't matter when I call them because I won't be back until the end of August, to let them know about my hair and that I'd like to come back to get it fixed. The receptionist that I spoke to this time around was incredibly unpleasant and unfortunately I didn't get her name. I was informed that when I returned home from Boston they would not fix my hair but I could pay for another haircut since the grace period has ended. I understand that when I return from Boston a few weeks will have passed since my haircut, but the mistake will still be there! It would really only take them 5 minutes to fix it! I'm VERY disappointed with their customer service after my appointment. I will not be returning to pay another $70 for a quick fix that should not cost me anything because it should not have happened in the first place, I of course understand that people make mistakes and that is okay with me. I do not understand why Salon Concrete thinks it's okay to let there mistakes go unfixed. Aside from the fact that Salon Concrete will not fix their mistake, Kristen and Nina were both great. Nina did an awesome job with my color and aside from the one mistake, I'm loving my cut from Kristen. I simply cannot overlook the rude receptionist and the terrible customer service that followed my appointment.
