Buyer Beware My husband purchased a gift card for me and a…read morefriend to get a massage from Scheal ( the day spa in Rumson). It was purchased just after it opened. We like to support small local businesses, so I in turn, purchased a gift card for a friend. I felt no urgency to use it because per the law gift cards do not expire. https://www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/News/Consumer%20Briefs/gift-cards-and-gift-certificates.pdf Then Covid hit. So yes, it has been a long time. She did extend the expiration because of Covid-19. The fact still remains. Gift cards DO NOT expire. I have stopped by several times and since covid it has been appointment only. I totally understand. I called to book appointments. The person told me my gift card expired after one year. I called again to speak to a manager or the owner thinking the employee may not have known the law. Well......the owner confirmed that their policy is the gift card expired after one year. There is no mention of a expiration on the physical card. When I told her that gift cards do not expire she told me I was wrong and that all local spas have the same policy. Wrong!! I called 3 local spas (big and small) and without exception said they always accept gift cards. And to boot, she was rude and unprofessional. I felt like I was arguing with my teenager. I am not out to ruin her business but buyer beware. She sells you a service and does not deliver.

I decided to come here as a treat for myself for my birthday back in April. I made a late morning appointment for a massage on a Friday. When I arrived, I checked in at the desk. I was given a robe and slides to wear. I went in the changing room to change and went to the relaxation room to relax. One thing about it. This place was busy! The relaxation room was a bit full, which wasn't all that relaxing for me. While I waited, I had to fill out a form which goes over a few medical things and asks if there's any particular areas you'd like them to focus on or avoid. Next, I was called in for my massage. Overall, the massage itself was very relaxing and just what I needed. After it was done, I sat in the relaxation room for a few minutes and then I went to change and head out. Overall, I had a pretty good experience here and would return.

I am so grateful to have found Elizabeth at Kayla Jeanne Aesthetics-- this was better than my experiences at Rescue Spa and I wasn't upcharged for every additional treatment. To start, we briefly chatted about my skin/problem areas/my concerns, she listened carefully and reassured me that we would address everything. She went above and beyond. During our session, she paid close attention to detail, she explained the reason for each treatment and I left feeling glowy and confident. At other estheticians I've seen, I've left feeling blotchy and red, not wanting to show my face until the next day. I left Elizabeth with glowy skin and zero redness. The space is welcoming and comfortable and they take cleanliness very seriously with added protocols to keep clients safe during the pandemic. After this lockdown, I'm really looking forward to going back!
