Walked into Lucent today for a gel mani and regular pedicure, and I was really impressed! The staff worked me into their busy schedule and were nice. Angel did a great job with my gel mani, and worked with the manager to get one of my nails fixed at the end. I noticed there was a tiny fuzz/thread cured into my thumb nail when I was getting my pedicure, and they agreed to fix it with no issue! Super grateful for that, because I get nervous speaking up about stuff like that. Angel also recommend a great color when the one I chose was out. She also checked with me about the shape of my nails when she was filing, which I appreciated. Quick service! The technician who did my pedicure took a lot of time, but did an AMAZING job--so detailed!! Best pedicure I've had in a while. The massage chair was also really nice. Bottom line, I had a great visit today at Lucent, and I intend to return! P.S. If you want to make an appointment call, or open their website on a computer, it was not working on my mobile phone.
First of all, this place is clean and well maintained. Very friendly manager lady at front. I'm sure this place does amazing fills and fake nails but my experience with my long natural nails was awful. I came in with a French gel manicure and was hoping to get the exact same thing but after the way my gel was removed I opted for a basic manicure. Henry used an electric tool to take off the gel polish which removed so many layers of my natural nail that my nails were flimsy. The prices were great and I would love to come back and try someone different but I am seriously leaving here with my fingers in pain from the industrial-like sander that was used on my once pretty nails.
BEWARE! If I could leave a negative rating for this establishment I would, this is the worst service experience I have ever had. I had scheduled an appointment for 9:30am for 2 pedicures, through their online system. I was told that my girlfriend and I would have to wait 15 mins which we agreed was okay, they also said they didn't see my girlfriend's appointment in the system at all. We ended up not being seen until 10:15am, 45 min later. We were on the brink of leaving, but decided to stay. One of the girls who was doing our pedicures had been sitting idle for 45 mins until the one who told us it would be 15 mins was done with her client. We were finally seen. Once seated we were in store for a mediocre pedicure which mine ended up with me getting scratched up on both of my feet. Franci was using an exfoliating hard sponge on me and was not careful at all. I attached a picture of both my feet. I've had to follow up with Neosporin several times as the scratches heal. Additionally, it did not make me feel relaxed to see the person (Franci) doing my feet looking at the girl (Angelina) doing my girlfriend's feet as if she was cheating off of a test. Are all technicians not trained the same? It also shocked me when in the middle of doing my nails she dropped the tool that she was using on the floor and then proceeded to do my nails as if nothing had happened, without cleaning or sanitizing it. I was honestly shocked. Also with COVID rules still in place and the store seeming to have enough signage around to let everyone know of the mask policy, I was dumbfounded seeing the receptionist with a mask sign behind her wearing her mask on her chin the entire time we were there. Other staff also had masks on which were not covering their noses. Save your money and please go elsewhere. They ruined a Saturday morning for us and $100 down the drain...
I haven't been to Lucent in a while. I wanted a gel pedicure so I booked my appointment online when I went in there wasn't a lot of people I saw Eric today he was awesome did an awesome job on my pedicure adjusted the pressure if necessary. Job well done truly satisfied. If you're in the area please stop by or book your appointment online you won't be disappointed. Ask for Eric
I got my nails done on Saturday by Lan and it was a pretty horrible manicure...nails should not look like this 4 days post GEL manicure. Chipped, didn't take all the old blue nail Polish off, horrible job at cutting cuticles so now they are peeling. I've had great experiences there in the past but this was pretty bad.
I just moved down to the area and found this cute spot! Natasha did my full set powder dip manicure and pedicure. She is beyond talented and so amazing at her job. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. It was such a fun spa day and she made it so. The staff there is friendly also. Just a wonderful atmosphere to be around. I highly recommend coming here and booking your appointments especially with Natasha!

No leg massage, which I thought was weird but okay, whatever. Then we get to the painting of the nails. For me, the most important part. She didn't know how to do it. She used her fingernail to clean the polish off my skin on every nail. You can see in the picture how that messed up my nail polish. That is unacceptable. I didn't see it until I got out into the sun. I went there one other time where they removed my gel manicure by scrapping and taking the top layer of my nails off. I really want to like them because I live close but that's it.
Hands down the best nail salon experience I've ever had. We just moved to the area from up north where there is a nail salon on every block and I was panicking because my baby shower is this weekend. I found lucent on yelp and was able to easily book my appointment and services. The salon is stunning when you walk in. I've never seen such a gorgeous nail salon. It truly looks like a posh spa. It looks like they serve wine but being in my current condition, I didn't partake. The owner Steve was super friendly and accomadating and asked several times if he could get me a beverage. I got a crystal full set and my technician did my nails perfectly and as asked. Shape and color are beautiful! I opted to get their top of the line pedicure the "jelly pedi" and was not dissapointed! It's worth every dollar. I was drooling. Also, each pedicure chair is hooked up with an iPad. I can't wait to come back for my next visit !
Very clean and nice looking spa. But extremely disappointed with the service of nails. I asked for almond shaped nails. And they came out a hot mess. If you go to this nail salon make sure you vocalize your needs and if you don't like something. I'll be honest after a certain point I gave up because I felt like nothing was getting accomplished. They have wonderful nail polish colors. But honestly save your money and time

I really wanted to like this nail salon. It's nice, clean and has comfy chairs. Unfortunately, both times I've gotten a gel manicure it starts chipping and peeling off within a day. The polish application is super uneven on my recent manicure and I left with a cut on my finger. read more

I was a last minute appointment at the end of the day, they were so accommodating and Bell did an amazing job on my short non cared for nails!! Salon was very clean and relaxing!!! I so ready for my weekend vacation!! read more

I called and got an appointment for a pedicure. As the person worked on my nails I could tell she was inexperienced but okay, that's fine. Just moved to the area and was looking for a nail salon and Lucent did not disappoint! Topaz did my acrylic/gel manicure and I couldn't be happier! Will definitely be coming back! read more

Hands down the best nail salon experience I've ever had. We just moved to the area from up north where there is a nail salon on every block and I was panicking because my baby shower is this weekend. I've come to this place at least 3 or 4 times since it opened a few months ago. I must say, it is absolutely fabulous! The nail technicians are very knowledgeable and friendly. The pedicure are heavenly with the nice leg and foot massages. The specialty manicures are long lasting. The waxing is professionally done. Get this - they friggin serve you WINE!!!! And water or soda, if you prefer. They also have food too! How can you get any better than that??!! Truly a classy establishment with many perks. The owners - Steve and Julie Prior, are extremely friendly and accommodating. They accept constructive criticism with open arms. The only issue I had was initially you could only book appointments online but now you can call and they accept walk-ins. The place is super clean. You can eat off the floors, even in the bathrooms! Everything is so elegant and well thought out. This is NOT just a nail salon, this is a SPA! The only thing they need now is a body massage room!!! Haha! Love this place! I drive 30 minutes from the north to get here! Highly, highly recommend! read more

I was looking everywhere for good reviews on DIP powder marks and was so excited when I found this place! The manicurists were super nice and funny, and the manicure was well done and looked great for the first few days. It's been 9 days and this manicure is supposed to last 3 weeks (longer than a gel manicure)... It started looking dry and cracking a few days ago and in the last two days they've started chipping. This was a relatively expensive type of manicure and I'm extremely disappointed that it didn't even last as long as a normal gel manicure does. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE BY "FOM" WASTE OF MY $72 plus $10 for tip I definitely got ripped off cuz when i booked my appmnt online my total came to $62 THESE NAILS ARE THE UGLIEST SHIT I EVER GOT. Its day 2 and the polish is already coming off. MY RING FINGER DOES NOT LOOK LIKE CHROME AND HE SAID IT WAS CHROME..... Yea i live right next door would have been nice if they were actually good. This nail salon is absolutely amazing! I usually dread accompanying my wife to nail salons, but this place is unlike any other. The facility is beautiful and modern and clean! The waiting area was comfortable and I was able to just relax and watch TV......oh and they do a pretty good job with nails too! Haha... Seriously though, my wife had eyebrow waxing and manicure, and even I could tell the difference. The work was first-class all the way. I wouldn't normally write a review on yelp...especially for a nail salon. But I had to give kudos to this establishment....very well done, and highly recommended!! read more

The actual decor of this salon is beautiful. The owners (I'm assuming she was the owner) was a delight - so friendly and made sure I was receiving great service. However, my nails already chipped and I got a basic manicure yesterday! When I do my own nails, it takes over a week to begin to chip. I just feel like after paying for a manicure, my nails should last longer than 12 hours. I am adding to this review as of now 2 days after I got this manicure. Basically all of my nails are chipped and polish is completely coming off. I will no longer be going back to this salon. read more

This is by far my new favorite salon. After deciding that I need to pamper myself more I started shopping around for a good salon that I felt comfortable at, that did great work and didnt cost an arm and a leg. Lucent is 100% that salon. After going to 2 other salons i just wasnt happy with how my nails were turning out. The techs here are great, very polite and fast. I recommend the signature pedicure, I was blown away, a full hour of my feet and legs getting pampered, it was amazing. Moral of the story is Lucent os where it is at. read more

We came here for a 30th birthday celebration with family members of all ages and had a blast! This establishment is so clean, beautiful and comfortable. The moment we walked in the doors we were welcomed with smiling faces. We were a party of 8 and the entire occasion was seamless - no one had to wait for anything and our glasses were always full. Very professional and genuinely kind staff with an owner who truly cares about his business, staff and clients. Thank you for showing us such a great time!!! We will be back! read more

Was so exited to try a new nail salon but I was disappointed.... again :( asked them to do ghost face from scream and it turned out okay. The nails themselves r on the chunkier side and not coffin shaped like I asked for. The white and the black mixed a little when the top coat was put on :/ beautiful place but I wouldn't go back. Didn't realize how messy underneath the nails were left.... It's impossible to find a good salon in Monmouth county read more
