This was my first lash lift, a procedure that I had literally never heard of prior to a google search made on a whim. I wanted something to bring out my eyelashes without extensions and this was perfect. I saw Danielle S. for the lash lift. The procedure itself took about 90 minutes including a consultation that reviewed potential complications such as eyelash kinking. When I asked about that the technician explained how it happened and how they are able to fix it during the lift itself. So I went for it, got in a 60 minute nap, and woke up looking like this, lol. Danielle was even able to fix up a bald spot on one of my eyelashes that she had noticed. Super natural look, professional experience, worth every penny for the nap alone. To start, we briefly chatted about my skin/problem areas/my concerns, she listened carefully and reassured me that we would address everything. She went above and beyond. During our session, she paid close attention to detail, she explained the reason for each treatment and I left feeling glowy and confident. At other estheticians I've seen, I've left feeling blotchy and red, not wanting to show my face until the next day. I left Elizabeth with glowy skin and zero redness. The space is welcoming and comfortable and they take cleanliness very seriously with added protocols to keep clients safe during the pandemic. Last Saturday, I went to the salon for a blunt bob haircut (see attached the inspo picture). While the stylist technically cut my hair into a bob, it was not the haircut I asked for. She removed a significant amount of my hair by heavily thinning it out without ever informing me, asking for my consent, or discussing it with me. That was never something I requested, and it completely changed the look and feel of my hair. It's also worth mentioning that I've been getting this exact haircut for the past eight years, and I have never had a single issue. This isn't my first bob, and I know exactly how it's supposed to look and feel. Never before has a stylist excessively thinned out my hair without discussing it with me or asking for my permission. I left the salon thinking something felt off, and once I got home, I realized just how different my haircut was from what I had asked for. I felt devastated, frustrated, and completely blindsided. I take great care of my hair, and seeing it so over-thinned was heartbreaking. I honestly cried for two days because of it. I called the salon, the staff followed up with me after I reached out, and I appreciated their communication. However, I was told that the owner would be the one addressing the situation. Unfortunately, my conversation with the owner made an already upsetting experience even worse. Throughout the call, I felt completely dismissed and gaslit. There was no empathy, no accountability, and no acknowledgment of how I was feeling. Instead, I felt like he controlled the entire conversation and repeatedly invalidated my concerns. When I told him I had been crying for two days because of my haircut, his response was essentially, "Really? You're crying over this?" That comment made me feel embarrassed and foolish for expressing how much this affected me. Also expressed that he does not want me as a client. As a salon owner, you should understand that while it may be "just hair" to you, it is MY hair. You don't know how much time, effort, and care I've invested over the years to keep it healthy. Having that changed without my knowledge or permission was incredibly upsetting. Rather than listening, the owner insisted that I got the haircut I asked for and said he didn't think it was a bad haircut. That completely misses the point. My issue is not whether he personally likes the haircut... it's that my hair was altered in a way I never agreed to. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. A mistake can happen, but the way a business responds afterward says everything. I left feeling unheard, invalidated, and blamed for my own reaction. I cannot recommend this salon based on my experience.
