This is a family friendly and dog friendly campsite. We enjoyed the amenities which consisted of the pool, beach, sunset watch, shallow snorkeling and swimming area along with walk to the dog park for our pup. Comfortable and quiet.

We had the opportunity to get an ocean front spot here at Jolly Roger. I would highly recommend booking in advance because these are by far the best spots in the campground. The spots have a nice concrete pad and new picnic table. There's a concrete wall that can be used as a bench to watch the waves, although the other side of it is a public sidewalk. The "beach" area is very nice and many campers gather there to watch sunset. Boat ramp was great for kayaks and the swimming area had decent snorkeling. The office looked new and the staff was very friendly. Would stay here again :) and

We love this RV and camp resort. Its mostly RV dream but they have some spot for tent and its great! Super clean ( if some stupid dirty people will not make mess in bathrooms ) they r really clean. They even pick trash for u every morning. Quiet place with beautiful sunset ! Nice deck and sea water pool area. Great for night fishing! All that RV people were friendly and not one person walked by without say Hi .. love it love it!

Beautiful private beach at this RV park!

Gorgeous and well-kept RV park! It sits in the Gulf side of the island and has lots of fun times available with the private beach and dock with boats & heated pool!

This is by far THE BEST campground in the entire Keys. I love everything about this place. From the staff all so friendly, to the dog bark park, yes its very pet friendly which is a huge plus, to the sites that are all so clean, neat and spacious. They have a seawall area which you have to book in advance but its so convenient because you are right next to the ocean and you get to see the most amazing beautiful sunsets. The swimming area is wonderful to snorkel, so many fish to see. They have a huge pier that you can park your boat or jetski and you can also fish from there. It has a huge gorgeous pavillion and the lighting at night is spectacular. I try going twice a year to Jolly Rogers. I always have such a great relaxing time. I highly recommend this campground to anyone. you wont be dissapointed.

Wonderful staff and very clean beautiful park. There is a great pool, waterfront sitting area where you can enjoy reading a book ,having a glass of wine, snorkeling, swimming , or just relaxing in the shaded or sunny areas that have just been beautifully landscaped. They also have a dock & boat ramp. Park has potluck dinners, free hotdog days , Ice Cream socials. This is by far my favorite camping place in the Florida Keys I give it a A+++ . What makes it a great place to camp? We stayed here for 3 nights, getting the last site in the middle of the resort at almost the last minute. It is right on the Gulf, but not all sites are of course. There's a communal area with a covered space for watching sunsets, gathering at night, having a picnic....It seems that many of the RVers are long-term people, spending an extended time as snowbirds. There's an activity calendar and one of the nights they had music in the covered pavilion, ending promptly at 10 pm. I enjoyed sitting outside and listening to all the "oldies." Pool exercise time every morning too. Each site has plenty of room, despite that the resort looks cramped at first sight. The grounds are kept tidy and pretty. People were friendly, check-in was a breeze. It has a modern, very clean bathhouse. It was very chilly and windy while we were there and the bathrooms were toasty warm. Jolly Roger is located right near the Dolphin Research Center and close to the Turtle Hospital, both very interesting places to visit. It's about 45 min. from Theater of the Sea, also a good destination. And it's an hour from Key West. A fair amount of restaurants are within a half hour each way. We had a great experience with our kayaks, we even caught a nice size octopus which I grilled on the campground, that was our highlight and nothing like sleeping under a gorgeous star night sky.

Highly recommend this campground. This is our fifth year vacationing here. The staff, especially Angie, are very helpful and take great care of the place. They keep a clamp on the parties while maintaining a clean and fun place. The spots are big with up to 50 amp service at most sites. The sunsets are amazing.

Great campground on grassy key, marathon fl. The campground host was super sweet and helpful. We camped close to the dog park and so our dog was happy. Everything was clean and in order. You have a beautiful view of the ocean and only an hour and 20 minutes from Key West. We will definitely be back! The only thing I would complain about is the cost of the onsite laundry. $4 for washing machine and a couple bucks to dry. It adds up quickly.

We love it at Jolly Rogers, the staff members are wonderful and friendly. They always keep the campground clean and well maintained. Our kids enjoy coming and making new friends

    Awesome waterfront sites!

Amazing waterfront campsites!!! Very nice facilities. Great location, surrounded by excellent restaurants. It's well worth the money to upgrade to a waterfront site. Will definitely return!

Great little campground on the water. We stayed for a week and landed a spot right on the boat ramp (which was awesome). Decent fishing from the piers, snorkeling area was nice for the kids since it was shallow. Our only complaint is that although it's "pet friendly", it's really not. Our lab was welcomed after paying the premium but you can't walk them in any grass except the dog park (they are strict about it). And in the summer, that asphalt gets HOT. Not to mention, the dog park is all the way to the far side of the park, so it was a long, painful walk for our 11 yr old lab a few times a day. If we go back, we wont bring him.

    Magical Sunsets, Almost every night!

Has a table and is covered. $199 for the day including bucket of beer/seltzers or a bottle of rose. - Basic kayaks and paddle boards included and other activities offered like kite surfing. - Restaurant and rooftop bar on site were great and convenient - Had a family 3 bedroom unit with kitchen which was nice. - Not so crowded when we were there mid-April Midlights: - Tide changes made it harder to do water sports since had to plan around low tide times. - Beds and sheets weren't the most comfortable - Day without Jeff the drinks were not great by the pool. - Adult section is more recently renovated than the family side. - Adult pool actually more crowded and set back in shade. Lowlights - Restaurant and rooftop bar closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Water ground is sludgey and not fun to walk on. Also sometimes an unpleasant odor. - Door to our main balcony was broken after our first night so for several days we couldn't go out there. Bummer cause was the main place we planned to hang out. And hub missed part of our aquacabana day waiting for someone to come up since his suit was out there. - No service for rooms while we were here 3 nights

It even had a wet bar with an extra sink and an outdoor patio area with a couple of chairs and a small table. There was also a larger-than-average fridge, microwave, and safe. Possibly my favorite thing about Hampton Inns is the included breakfast. It's so convenient to have a wide selection of foods available to start your day. There's always some meat (typically sausage patties or bacon), eggs (typically scrambled or frittatas), and breakfast potatoes; oatmeal, yogurt, and some toppings; cereal (frosted flakes, cheerios, and I forget the last one) and milk; bagels, bread, and toppings (cream cheese, butter, jam, etc.); fruit (typically bananas and apples); waffle batters (vanilla and a rotating flavor like blueberry or banana) and an iron; juice (typically OJ and apple or POG); and I'm probably missing other things. There is ice, hot and cold water, tea, and coffee available 24/7. Other amenities include a pool, tiki bar that serves drinks and food in the pool area, room service, a decent gym, and a little dock where iguanas like to hang out throughout the day. Service was excellent. Parking is $10/night with in and out privileges and there are plenty of stalls. And because of the layout of the hotel which only has 2 levels of rooms, you may be able to park right outside your room's patio door.

Our room and the property overall were very nice, but I have to say it appears our room's wood floors hadn't been cleaned very well because our white socks would get very dirty immediately upon walking on them. Couple of pools with water views; one by each building. Between the buildings are a restaurant, some boat docks, and a shop with guest services like boating, snorkeling, diving, etc. (all additional costs of course). The restaurant on the property was really good, as was the restaurant directly across the highway from the hotel, so you've got options if you don't want to drive or want to have some adult beverages. Complementary breakfast in the front building, but it can be very busy and hard to get a table sometimes. $20 per day for parking is a bit ridiculous to me; land in Marathon isn't at a premium like in Key West. At first, we were a little hesitant to book; after all, it is a very old Motel and we read a couple of bad reviews about it. We almost walked away and went somewhere else - BOY, ARE WE GLAD WE DECIDED TO TAKE A CHANCE AND BOOK at KCB Motel! Yes, the Motel is over 50 years old, but it has been very nicely refurbished specially the bathrooms in the rooms. As for the bad reviews, well they are over five years old and I could not find a single trace of any of the faults mentioned in the bad reviews! The motel common areas and the rooms are all very clean, the service to the room was great, and very early each morning, there was a crew going all over making sure everything was clean and fresh to start each day. We used the two BBQs provided (gas included) and in the morning there were at least 3 guys cleaning up the BBQs and the "cooking" area for us to enjoy again. We had such a positive experience that we are already planning out return trips; we are only an hour and a half away and we plan to visit several time a year! The beach, the absolute BEST part of the Motel, is a hidden gem considering the lack of sandy beaches in the keys. Very nice white sand and only a few scattered patches of Sargasso (grassy sea bottom), but you have to go way in deep to see those. It runs from side to side of the hotel property and it is less than 30 feet from most rooms to the water! No more lugging coolers and equipment from the car to the beach or from a "normal" hotel room to the beach. You just have to take a few steps to your room to get whatever you need. There are several thatch roof cabanas with plenty of tables and chairs where you can enjoy breakfast (provided by the Motel), or lunch and dinner while listening to the waves coming ashore. You can even just sit there doing nothing but enjoying the view or you can take a plunge in the clear water! With such a short distance from the room to the beach, we went in and out several times a day; we even had time for a short siesta most days! Oh, and yes, they have a very large pool, but I could not tell you about it because I did not use it at all. Not because it was bad, but because I could not tear myself away from the beach! Next trip, I will try and find some time to take a dip in the pool. Last but not least, the price - Incredible! During the fall months, September to December, the rates are only $120 for a regular side facing room or $200 for each of the four nicely decorated beachfront suites, each with a distinct theme! There is no "resort fee" added to the price of the room, just the plain normal tax. By the way, we went as a group made up of 21 members of our car club! Had the greatest time and even made some friends with the other weekend guests! We exchanged phone numbers with 4 other couples (all one group) so that we could coordinate our return trip soon! One couple from France taught us how to correctly pronounce "Croissant with eggs and sausage", one of the featured breakfast items. The correct way is "Croissant aux oeufs et saucisses", trust me, no at all pronounced as it is written, a BUNCH of the letters are silent and the rest need some emphasis when pronouncing! Thank You Tony and Jen, you are the greatest! Looking forward to our next trip!

We recently stayed at Hawk's Cay and had nothing short of an awful experience from start to finish…read more I was so incredibly excited to stay here, as I've heard incredible things about the resort. I can confidently say I would never stay here again after our visit. We arrived about 30 minutes before checkin time (around 3:30pm) and were told our room was not ready yet. No problem. Our baby was due for a nap so I took him around the beautiful property to sightsee. At 4:05pm they called me to tell me our room was ready. We went upstairs and I was about to put him down for a nap, but I realized we were in a double queen when we had booked a resort king. Also, there was no pack 'n play set up as I had requested in our reservation. With a now crying baby in my arms, I called the front desk and let them know they had put us in the wrong room. The woman told me to come down to the lobby and she would meet me there to bring us to the last remaining king. Why weren't we put there in the first place? We went down to the lobby and waited about 20 minutes before asking to speak to a supervisor. The woman told me the original person coming to meet me was on her way. I expressed my concerns to her while she took me to the new room and she apologized politely, but after arriving in our new room (again with no pack 'n play set up), the entire checkin process took an hour and a half. My now overly tired and incredibly cranky baby was crying as I tried to get him down for a nap in our new room. We were interrupted by the woman coming back with our keys, then 10 minutes later a man knocked on our door with a folded up pack 'n play and asked, "You know how to set this up, right?" Now on the verge of tears, I asked him to please set it up for me. He cranked it open and told me there were "linens to put in the bottom for the baby." When I inspected it, it looked broken and rickety on the bottom with no padding. Linens are a serious SIDS risk for babies, so I'm not sure why such a nice resort couldn't provide us with a safe, non-broken crib. We did not end up using it. That evening when we were getting ready for dinner, there was an ironing board with no iron in the room. We called and they brought one relatively promptly. The air conditioning must have had an issue because it could not have possibly been any louder. On top of everything that had made our evening so stressful, the alarm in our room went off at 5:45am, waking the baby and myself up an hour earlier than normal. This threw off our entire next day as well. The resort does not provide "do not disturb" tags inside your room, so during his first nap of the day housekeepiAng knocked loudly and barged into our room! I tried to speak to a supervisor and all I got was an insincere, unconvincing apology. What was supposed to be a relaxing stay at one of the most highly-regarded resorts in the Keys was the most stressful (actually, the only stressful) experience I have ever had in the Keys. To have spent over $400 on a room and had such a disappointing stay was unacceptable. Do not recommend.
