AVOID this charter. They don't tell you till you book that this is a share your catch boat. The whole boat is lazy. Small cooler for your catch so they won't let you keep grunts. They say because they are hard to clean but they are liars. Ran out of bait. Go someplace else or don't fish. Waste of time and money. I caught 4 yellowtail and 3 lane snappers. Only took home 5 fillets because they gave fish to people who spent more time on their phones than fishing. read more

Our Captain was Dave and his mate was Ken, we had a great time. We were in a bunch of smalls, but we were able to get keepers also. They were both very personable and very friendly as well as knowledgeable about the fish we were catching and the Reefs we were over. All in All we had a blast. read more

We had a decent time but my family felt Dave and Ken were a bit condescending and impatient at times while they were trying get familiar with using the rods and bringing the fish in. While it was a reasonably calm day, many on the boat became sick. Where you are primarily catering to people who are unfamiliar with being on ocean water, I would recommend that you lower your price a bit, lower the fee to look online, and shorten the trip to about 2 1/2 hours. That makes it a nice boat ride for a half hour out, a half hour back, and 11/2 hours of fishing. Most of the people that will take this charter are not die hard fishing people, but just want to experience it. After about 2 hours, most of the people on the boat had stopped fishing. Do not waste your time & money with this boat. Absolute tourist trap. They take you to the fish nursery, refuse to accept slot size fish as legal, and compel you to forfeit your fish to others. Terrible, We booked a charter 4 of us on vacation. We go there and were given a big excuse as to why they had to cancel. We called the number several times and no answer My Nephew paid for the charter on his bank card and ended up having to dispute the charges with his bank because they never returned his phone call. We are understanding people and get it that things happen. We said on the message we left that we wanted to reschedule and no call back but they had bo problem taking our money and even sending us an email thanking us for using them on a fishing trip we never got to take and two mornings later they go right by our dock with a boat full of people. Definitely not a good experience The crew was alright. The captain got mad the helper only made like 100 in tips and was asking ppl if he did something wrong because he only works for tips They should have specified that online before you book a trip. Also all the fish was distributed evenly among all 16 ppl on my trip regardless they catch any or not. Really the worst experience you can ask for. MY RECOMENDATION spend a little more money and get a better charter, this one was trash. read more

We chose SeaDog for a snorkeling trip and we were so happy!! Hands down 5 Stars! The only negative thing was that the wind kept us from snorkeling Sombrero Reef, which I was heartbroken about! But we did snorkel the islet and saw plenty of fish, jelly fish, and dolphins in the distance. It was a beautiful catamaran ride to the area and the tour guides were super laid back and informative! Seeley was an awesome, super fun guide! Captain Taylor took us out on a fun fishing trip taking us to two different locations. He and his 1st mate were busy the entire time supplying the 18 people on board with bait, assisting with removing fish from hooks, and helping however they could. The website shared everything that we needed to know before the trip. Both were personable and friendly the entire trip. It was a nice day fishing. The price is extremely reasonable. Sea dog is a nice charter to go on! The boat in the two-man crew very nice helpful.We went way out to try to find the big fish. They fill the boat and is a little crowded but expected on this kind of charter. The water was rough and several people did not feel good so there was more room to fish. We did catch a lot of fish. All the fish were smallish but it was still great to catch fish! A lot of people have never fished before and the captain and first mate did a great his helping them out. Definitely not what we expected. Even though the boat capacity states 20 does not mean 20 adults with fishing equipment fit safely on the vessel. We were all crowded on the back of the boat with barely enough room to turn around. The captain showed us 2 6 people life rafts so unsure where the actual life jackets were stored. The captain complained loudly to the first mate how unsafe the vessel was which definitely did not make us feel good about the trip. We continued to drag the anchor because apparently the windlass was broken so they did not want to drop and pull anchor every time we moved the boat to another fishing spot. We did catch a few fish, was a new and fun experience for us. However, next time we will choose a different charter. read more

I went out for a half day trip and had a great time. Captain Joe and First Mate Chelsey were very helpful and knowledgeable which added to the experience. I will give them three stars because they were courteous, and tried very hard to get you keeper fish. Why not five stars? The price was not $59.99. It's $64.99, plus $4, plus a credit card fee. $72 later. Furthermore, I chose reef fishing and instead went twelve miles off shore parked next to the off shore fishing charter. Would never recommend this boat. Captain was 30 minutes late, 1st mate was Ok but overall trip was 1 out of 10. Gear was crap and thebiggest fish caught was 1 barely legal Yellow Tail. I rarely post a negative review but this was so disappointing. We travel as a family every year and always do a group fishing trip, so I'm saying this with past experiences of other charters. We booked for 13 people so they knew in advance how many would be there (not to mention the 5 other people on the trip), yet when we got to the fishing area the rods were not ready, the bait was not ready, and it took a long time for them (only the captain and a mate) to attend to people. And that was after I pointed out that another group still didn't have rods at least 20-30 minutes after fishing started. There was never a point when all of us had rods to fish. They were not actively attending to people, baiting hooks or asking what was needed. Myself (who normally doesn't fish) and my son ended up baiting hooks and removing fish from hooks. Because of the lack of preparation and attention, our party could never fish at the same time. The boat is dirty and slippery. My mom and the mate both slipped and fell. However, the mate may have slipped because she was drinking white claws the entire time. Worse, we had 4 young children with us and the captain and mate were smoking inside the cabin the entire time. Despite asking for rods and bait we were frequently ignored (again, maybe too many white claws) so we had to figure it out without help. They didn't filet the fish on the way back but waited for help at the dock, so it was another hour before we could have fish and leave. What made it even more awkward was them asking for tips before we left and telling us how much was appropriate (by their math 30-50%) as we came back. We are always the first people to tip, and tip much more than expected, but this was ridiculous. My son worked harder than they did! Between drinking, smoking, talking and making hotel reservations, they were far too busy to help our group. We all agreed this was the worst charter we have been on in all our vacations. read more

Had a great time! The captain and the mate we super nice and very hands on to help. We had young kids in our party and they worked with them to help them learn and catch a lot of fish. They cleaned the fish for us too. Some important things to note that are standard on most charters: It is a 4 hour trip total. This includes travel time. This is standard. Unless you catch a trophy fish the catch is shared, also standard. The rate charged per person does not include a tip or the mates pay. 15% to 20% is standard. You may not catch any fish! The captain kept a close eye on everything and moved the boat a few times for better spots. Standard and good. The captain and mate went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time, fishing properly, and brought home something to eat if they wanted. Stay away. Fish were not biting at first - that happens. Finally found a good spot but had to leave after five minutes. The front automatic anchor broke. The crew made a make shift anchor and tied to the back of the boat. After five minutes we started to sink (there is a reason the anchor goes in the front). After losing good fishing time, we came back to the dock early. Captain Claudia said it was her worst day of fishing ever. I saw the owner and told him about the experience. He could care less. He even said he heard the high water alarm but said that doesn't mean anything. Stay away. Unsafe. Spend your money elsewhere. read more
