Went out fishing on an afternoon trip with Sea Dog charters and had a great time! The crew was great and really put in the work to try to ensure everyone had fun. The mate was especially patient and kind with our young boys and really made sure they had the best time possible! This was following a night time charter with a different boat in the area, and we caught twice as much fish and had a much better time with Sea Dog. The shared catch aspect was originally a deterrent for us, it's something we're really not a fan of. In the end it worked out fine though, and we were glad we decided to give them a try! read more

Nice & knowledgable crew with fisherman's humor. We had some relaxing fun and would book again. However, the turbo on the boat was screaming on the way to the spot and back so I wish I had earplugs. read more

Be careful planning your day around a trip with this company. I got an email at 10:30pm the night before an 8am trip that they canceled due to not meeting the minimum number of participants. Nowhere on their website or booking site is there a disclaimer that trips might be canceled for this reason. Then I had to email them twice to get the refund initiated after they said it would be processed automatically. Had i not watched my credit card transactions I would have been out almost $200. I shouldn't have to follow up on a refund because you canceled on me and shouldn't take 5 days after the scheduled trip to send a refund. This seems like a shady company who doesn't care about their customers so proceed at your own risk! read more

We booked this at the last moment with my family of eight. Had a great time, the crew was amazing. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Would definitely do again! read more

Our Captain was Dave and his mate was Ken, we had a great time. We were in a bunch of smalls, but we were able to get keepers also. They were both very personable and very friendly as well as knowledgeable about the fish we were catching and the Reefs we were over. All in All we had a blast. read more

The fishing today sept 27 was alright... the guys were nice. They didn't have a bathroom though and I had to pee in this water bucket that they had towards the back of the boat... unfortunate. read more

AVOID this charter. They don't tell you till you book that this is a share your catch boat. The whole boat is lazy. Small cooler for your catch so they won't let you keep grunts. They say because they are hard to clean but they are liars. Ran out of bait. Go someplace else or don't fish. Waste of time and money. I caught 4 yellowtail and 3 lane snappers. Only took home 5 fillets because they gave fish to people who spent more time on their phones than fishing. read more

Do not waste your time & money with this boat. Absolute tourist trap. They take you to the fish nursery, refuse to accept slot size fish as legal, and compel you to forfeit your fish to others. If you wanted to introduce a child to a fish for the first time or was your first time ever fishing this boat is for you. Otherwise, run far away from this joke. read more

We had a decent time but my family felt Dave and Ken were a bit condescending and impatient at times while they were trying get familiar with using the rods and bringing the fish in. While it was a reasonably calm day, many on the boat became sick. Where you are primarily catering to people who are unfamiliar with being on ocean water, I would recommend that you lower your price a bit, lower the fee to look online, and shorten the trip to about 2 1/2 hours. That makes it a nice boat ride for a half hour out, a half hour back, and 11/2 hours of fishing. Most of the people that will take this charter are not die hard fishing people, but just want to experience it. After about 2 hours, most of the people on the boat had stopped fishing. Just a thought. read more

Captain Dave and Kevin were awesome! helpful and engaging, and we caught fish! Great day!

Terrible, We booked a charter 4 of us on vacation. We go there and were given a big excuse as to why they had to cancel. We called the number several times and no answer My Nephew paid for the charter on his bank card and ended up having to dispute the charges with his bank because they never returned his phone call. We are understanding people and get it that things happen. We said on the message we left that we wanted to reschedule and no call back but they had bo problem taking our money and even sending us an email thanking us for using them on a fishing trip we never got to take and two mornings later they go right by our dock with a boat full of people. Absolutely ridiculous. Stay away from theese people. read more

Had a great time. The boat captain was great, put us on fish. What we didn't care for was the deck hand trying to shame you into a certain dollar amount for the tip. Then checking what you gave him right after you handed it to him. read more

You get what you pay for. If you don't have high expectations then this is for you. If you have high ones, let them come down or don't go. Boat broke down a few times, not really much fish to keep and share for 19ppl. Remember, this is all opinion and I'm just trying to help your expectations :) read more

On a week long vacation with my son, we decided last min to take a fishing excursion. After exploring a bit, we decided to go with Sea Dogs and they exceeded our expectations! The were very patient with my son and myself as novice fishermen and showed us the ropes. They guided us throughout the entire process and were just simply great. Captain Taylor (Cap Tay Tay) and 1st Skipper Kim (Susan Gun show) were phenomenal. Not only did were they attentive, they ensured that we were catching fish. Took us to 3 different locations to ensure success. Will definitely book with them on the next boys trip! read more

Captain Claudia and Aaron are great at what they do, and we learned a lot while reeling in a bunch of great fish. They cleaned in and gave us all enough for a huge dinner, and we were able to bring to a local restaurant and have it prepared and served to us! The experience was fun. Definitely recommend this if you're looking to enjoy a day of fishing ! read more

Definitely not a good experience The crew was alright. The captain got mad the helper only made like 100 in tips and was asking ppl if he did something wrong because he only works for tips They should have specified that online before you book a trip. Also all the fish was distributed evenly among all 16 ppl on my trip regardless they catch any or not. Really the worst experience you can ask for. MY RECOMENDATION spend a little more money and get a better charter, this one was trash. read more

Crew was friendly, nice and helpful. Some equipment not working. Hooks kept falling off needed to be tied better. read more

We chose SeaDog for a snorkeling trip and we were so happy!! Hands down 5 Stars! The only negative thing was that the wind kept us from snorkeling Sombrero Reef, which I was heartbroken about! But we did snorkel the islet and saw plenty of fish, jelly fish, and dolphins in the distance. It was a beautiful catamaran ride to the area and the tour guides were super laid back and informative! Seeley was an awesome, super fun guide! I would absolutely book with SeaDog again in hopes of doing the reef! **pro tip- this was a fantastic deal and included the snorkel equipment, which most companies don't include!** read more

Definitely recommend: Capt Claudia is a legend! Russia was crew and was super helpful and upbeat! Had a windy day, but Capt made it comfortable and calm. Group brought in tons of DELICIOUS fish. Had some mackerel on lines and tons of snapper. Saw some dolphins on the way in, what a treat. This place is a BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. Full service and super positive. Made a delicious dinner with our bounty for the day, I will be telling everyone I know to go! Thanks Capt and crew! read more

It was a nice day fishing. The price is extremely reasonable. Sea dog is a nice charter to go on! The boat in the two-man crew very nice helpful. We went way out to try to find the big fish. They fill the boat and is a little crowded but expected on this kind of charter. The water was rough and several people did not feel good so there was more room to fish. We did catch a lot of fish. All the fish were smallish but it was still great to catch fish! A lot of people have never fished before and the captain and first mate did a great his helping them out. I fish a lot and think this is a good charter to go on! read more

Captain Taylor took us out on a fun fishing trip taking us to two different locations. He and his 1st mate were busy the entire time supplying the 18 people on board with bait, assisting with removing fish from hooks, and helping however they could. The website shared everything that we needed to know before the trip. Both were personable and friendly the entire trip. Captain Taylor got the fish fileted and deboned and we had a delicious fish dinner! read more

Was a fun time out on the water. My dog loved it too. We decided to try something new so we booked a trip to the sand bar.

I will give them three stars because they were courteous, and tried very hard to get you keeper fish. Why not five stars? The price was not $59.99. It's $64.99, plus $4, plus a credit card fee. $72 later. Furthermore, I chose reef fishing and instead went twelve miles off shore parked next to the off shore fishing charter. Lots of unadvertised things going on here. No pictures because I broke my phone on the charter due to the extreme rough waves (not their fault). read more

Definitely not what we expected. Even though the boat capacity states 20 does not mean 20 adults with fishing equipment fit safely on the vessel. We were all crowded on the back of the boat with barely enough room to turn around. The captain showed us 2 6 people life rafts so unsure where the actual life jackets were stored. The captain complained loudly to the first mate how unsafe the vessel was which definitely did not make us feel good about the trip. We continued to drag the anchor because apparently the windlass was broken so they did not want to drop and pull anchor every time we moved the boat to another fishing spot. We did catch a few fish, was a new and fun experience for us. However, next time we will choose a different charter. read more

My crew of 5, ages ranging 65-30, really enjoyed a half day fishing with Sea Dog Charters! We caught over 100 fish on our trip out. We also got to take some of the fish with us. Great Trip !!! Claudia and Aaron couldn't have been better. Claudia is very knowledgeable and very articulate with her instructions. Took us to 8 to 10 different spots to make sure we caught fish and we did. Highly recommend this charter. read more

Would never recommend this boat. Captain was 30 minutes late, 1st mate was Ok but overall trip was 1 out of 10. Gear was crap and thebiggest fish caught was 1 barely legal Yellow Tail. We pulled into the dock and the Captain was proclaiming a wonderful trip with a cooler full of fish. Hit or miss with head boats but this was a joke. read more

Captain and First Mate were both fantastic. Just the two of them handled 18 people and didn't miss one beat. Caught a lot of fish. They were knowledgable, helpful, and even cleaned and fileted the fish for all on the boat to take home. Great time! read more

Had a great time! The captain and the mate we super nice and very hands on to help. We had young kids in our party and they worked with them to help them learn and catch a lot of fish. They cleaned the fish for us too. Some important things to note that are standard on most charters: It is a 4 hour trip total. This includes travel time. This is standard. Unless you catch a trophy fish the catch is shared, also standard. The rate charged per person does not include a tip or the mates pay. 15% to 20% is standard. You may not catch any fish! The captain kept a close eye on everything and moved the boat a few times for better spots. Standard and good. The captain and mate went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having a good time, fishing properly, and brought home something to eat if they wanted. We will definitely come back again! read more

Really fun! I took my 7 year old son on a half day trip. Great crew, we had a great time & took some fish home for supper. Thanks!

Great trip captain John and Aaron took care of us all. It was a full boat and the water was still almost too still. The yellowtails were way back from the boat and deep. We still caught a bunch of fish. Thanks for a fun day on the water. read more
