If you're looking for a sunset cruise Marathon Mermaid Charters is where you should go. Everything about them is top notch. Lisa who took our reservation was warm and friendly. The cruise itself with Captain Dawn and Brandon was so much fun. A terrific vibe with good music and great stories about the area. Oh and we saw a beautiful sunset too! We took this charter for Fourth of July to watch the fireworks from the ocean. The staff is amazing and we felt safe and taken care of. The view of the fireworks was awesome! They served up champagne, hard seltzers, beer, water and soda. They also had great sandwiches, chips, pasta salad, brownies and cookies. I would definitely book them again. The only critique would be there were no plates or cutlery to eat with. We really wanted to eat the pasta salad but had no way to. read more

Five stars all the way for our Marathon Mermaid snorkeling tour. Captain Dawn and Brandon set the tone from the start. Professional, fun and incredibly welcoming. They made everyone feel comfortable and taken care of while keeping the energy light and enjoyable the entire time. Even with choppy waters the experience did not miss a beat. They handled everything with confidence and ease and made sure everyone still had a great time in the water. You could tell they knew exactly what they were doing and genuinely wanted everyone on board to enjoy the day. The whole trip felt safe well run and full of good vibes. If you are on the fence about booking just do it. This is the kind of experience that makes your time in the Keys memorable. read more

We had so much fun on our Sunset Cruise Tuesday evening. I can't give enough praise to Scott & Kevin. You can tell they are into it & enjoy what they do. Capt. Scott was welcoming & friendly. We felt safe with him at the helm. Kevin is awesome. He's an expert mate & has a vast knowledge of Marathon & the Keys. He was so much fun & was sure to keep the champagne flowing! He had so many good stories about the boats & people on the water. It was amazing! We spotted a family of dolphins that came with a surprise & of course, a spectacular sunset. The pace was perfect & not rushed at all. I can't wait to some of the other trips they offer! Thanks guys! read more

Awesome experience. Captain Mandy and Captain David were great, safe and knowledgeable

Unfortunately our trip was cancelled due to the swimming minimum not being met, however, Lisa was unbelievably helpful in providing other captain names to ensure we were able to check this off our bucket list. I will 100% re-book with this company next time I'm in town. True professionalism shown to send us to another captain--and offered multiple other options and dates (we were leaving the next day so couldn't accept). Thank you Marathon Mermaids for making my dreams come true one way or another!!! read more

Don't hesitate... Book your trip with Marathon Mermaid. We did the reef snorkel with Scott and Allison and couldn't have asked for a better time! Allison greeted us as we arrived and got our family of four situated with our snorkeling gear and reef safe sunscreen. The boat was spacious and had snacks and drinks available for everyone. The ride to the reef was beautiful, music played, and Allison talked with everyone. One thing that set them above any charter we've ever been on is when they noticed garbage in the water and drove over to pick it up. They truly care about the environment and doing their part to keep it clean. Once at the reef we got more instructions and were able to explore for about 2 hours. At a point, Allison got into the water and pointed out animals she saw so everyone was able to locate them as well. I did drink a bit too much saltwater and ofc began vomiting. Allison and Chris were great with helping me get back onto the boat and provided water and ginger ale to help settle my stomach and then I was back in to explore more. This experience was one of our top 3 vacation experiences ever. You won't regret booking your trip with Marathon Mermaid. read more

We loved our time on the Marathon Mermaid! tThe boat was clean, new, modern, and safe. My granddaughters had an awesome time! They loved the lily pad. Captains Scott and Kevin were so nice they told us all the safety features and they told us jokes . When we were in the water they w old get us a toy or a drink, so we didn't have to go back on the boat to get it. We had a great time at the sandbar! I would recommend this charter boat trip highly! We did the trip to the sandbar. We enjoyed the scenic 45min ish ride out to the sand bar. Then we had a couple hours at the sandbar where we hung out on the Lilly pad, kayaked, paddle boarded and hung out in the water. Some people on our trip snorkels as well. They have water, pop and chips they offer for free on board. You can bring adult beverages with you, though they said no hard liquor. They did sell some Truly on board as well. Would 100% go back but would recommend bringing a sandwich or something with you. We were all hungry by the time we got home. read more

I'll be honest I wasn't too sure about a big tour group going to the sandbar - I usually opt for more personal and intimate excursions. I am happy to say there was no reason to be concerned - this was a perfect adventure for myself and my friends on our girls trip! Booker and Allison were lovely crew - they were friendly, helpful and it's clear they truly enjoy their jobs! I will absolutely book again for next year's annual Keys weekend! read more

Captain Dawn and Captain Brandon were great! We saw dolphins, a ray and a ton of cool fish at the reefs around an offshore lighthouse.

Such a beautiful time with Allison and Booker, our guides! They were attentive and kind. I got poked by a sea urchin and sweet Allison came to my rescue and removed the stingers which was above and beyond! She showed us how to get up on the standing boards. They had plenty of pool noodles and a couple kayaks and other water stuff for a variety of activities while in the sandbar. They had complimentary snacks and drinks and sunscreen and had the tunes going the whole time! I wished we would have had time to take the sunset cruise they also offer. Best wishes to y'all m stay safe read more

We stayed at the BlueGreen Timeshare "The Hammocks" and the Marathon Mermaid is located on the docks just behind the hotel so we booked the sand bar excursion with them earlier this week. They almost had to cancel due to limited attendance but fortunately they were able to get everyone who booked on Friday and Saturday to join the Thursday excursion so we still got to go before leaving to go back home--that was pretty cool of them to do for us. The captain and boat staff were very friendly--although it was pretty windy and the water was cold (not many people hung out on the sand bar for long), they took us the long way home and gave us a nice, informative tour to make the trip worth our while. The boat was very clean and comfortable. They also provided chips and softs drinks, and played great beach music (reggae, ska, classic rock, etc.). Unfortunately they are not running any snorkel tours until March due to the storms that had just hit the area resulting in poor water visibility, but we would likely book through them again next time we're in Marathon. read more

Great snorkel charter! We had a party of 7 and took the 9-12 snorkel charter with the 3 Lady Captains this morning. The women were informative, timely and a great time. Sombrero Reef was filled with loads of fish, a sting ray and a couple barracuda's. We saw dolphins and a few sea turtles too! That was a first. Definitely a great value. The boat look new and was well stocked with drinks and snacks. We were all safe and in good hands this morning. Thanks ladies. Hope to see you next year...or later in the week! read more

We went on the sandbar cruise today. Captain and mate were excellent. The boat is in great shape. We were lucky that there were only eight of us, as the weather was not optimal. Not sure if I would want to be on here with about 50 people. All in all, I would highly recommend. I always say, would I go back? Yes. I would absolutely go out with them again. read more
