As a bonus, Jollibee opens at 9:00 AM if you wish to get an early jumpstart on lunch. Although I really enjoyed this meal, I found out after the fact that I could have gotten a better meal deal. For the same price, I could have ordered a 1-piece Combo, which includes 2 sides and a biscuit. (The only catch is if you choose the Combo, both sides are served in smaller proportions; the Chickenjoy side was a single larger serving). I came to this Jollibee for an episode of a new Youtube show I'm doing, and it was kind of fun as I hadn't been to Times Square in years. Most New York residents don't set foot in the capital of consumerism unless there is family in town or they are going to the theater. I'm guilty of this myself. Between bites of fried chicken, spaghetti, and an Aloha burger, I observed families from all over the world being united by being completely overwhelmed by the flashing lights and an endless sea of people. It was my first little jolt of culture shock. I felt like I was setting foot in Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory when I first walked into the Times Square NBA Store back in 2009. This 2025 Jollibee trip brought me back to a time when I was the purest form of me, largely untouched by the stressors and responsibilities that come with adulthood. During vacations/trips I enjoy checking out a variety of food spots including fast food offerings that are unique. Maine is not a state that has a lot of chains besides the typical huge name ones. So for planning our NYC trip Jollibee stood out as a spot we had to try. I have seen many things about this place mostly on YouTube and other social media. Almost always positive things that have made me want to try it even more. I was a bit concerned thinking to being in Times Square the wait time would be absurd. To my surprise we ordered at the kiosk and our order was done quicker than many who ordered before us. The longest part of our wait was for our drinks, they seemed to struggle to have Diet Pepsi and their specialty drinks ready. It did seem chaotic for the staff to manage all of the orders. I will suggest getting it to go as the seating is extremely limited and during our visit they were all taken and swarmed when free. The crowds waiting for the orders took up most if not all of the other space available. To get a full experience we tried ordering a variety. My wife got a three piece combo with a side of mashed potatoes. I got their deluxe chicken sandwich with a side of their spaghetti. The chicken in both manners was incredible with the perfect crunch and not dry in any way. The chicken sandwich was huge compared to many other chains. Side wise the mashed potatoes seemed way more fresh with potato skin throughout it. The spaghetti was definitely unique with a sweeter sauce and hot dogs in it. My wife was not the biggest fan while I enjoyed it at least in the small portion. Only knock from five stars down to four is due to the location and the fact it's located in Times Square and the chaos included with that. Jollibee in Times Square is always an adventure! Since it's in the middle of Times Square, parking is obviously tough, so I recommend public transportation. Inside, I do wish there was more seating because this place stays packed, but that just shows how popular it is. We got the spicy chicken bucket, and it was delicious. Tender, moist, and with the perfect spicy kick. It also came with gravy. Service is fast and efficient, even with the crowds. We usually place a mobile order to skip the long lines, but there's also a kiosk by the entrance that makes ordering convenient. I just wrote my review for the Jollibee in Delano, CA... it's only right I write one for this one-- my very first Jollibee experience. I've gotta say, it wasn't very memorable and nothing to rave about. They were super busy, of course, being in Times Square and all so I don't fault them for that. They were actually pretty quick with getting our order out... We didn't wait too long but it was a minute to find seats, even for just us two. I asked my Filipina friend what I should try and she said the ChickenJoy meal so that's what we got. Also added in one of their spicy chicken sandwiches. We got it with the biscuit and 2 sides-- mashed potatoes and Adobo rice. She specifically told me not to try the spaghetti so we avoided that lol and of course told us to try the pie. Because he placed the order, and he's not big on desserts like me, he did NOT order the pie on our first visit! Shameful (but that's what made me visit Delano). The food was mid, honestly. Yes, the chicken was good but it wasn't so good that I feel the need to go back. The sandwich was better... but not the best. I did appreciate the sauce and the fresh jalapeños though. Always prefer fresh. Mashed potatoes and gravy was basic. Just how you'd expect it to taste. & the Adobo rice I actually enjoyed (I'm a rice lover) but it's not something I would call delicious and tell you it's a must-have. I finally caved and tried Jollibee fried chicken at times square. It is soooo much better than KFC or Popeyes. Their chicken is all dark meat, so drumsticks and thighs. My 3 piece combo came with a side of fries and a biscuit, along with a cup of gravy! Dunking dark meat chicken in gravy just took things to another level! The mango peach pie was delicious as well. If you haven't tried Jollibee, I highly recommend it. I dunno if it's because this location is in Times Square but I paid almost $30 for the meal I had. Sure it's a hefty one but eh, it shouldn't have been more than $23 but that's my small complaint. I like how Jollibee is expanding throughout the NYC area. I recall when there was just one and that was in Woodside, Queens. Since then there's one in Jamaica that opened 2 years ago. One in midtown that I remember opening in late 2018 and I don't know when this one in Times Square opened up but it also looks pretty recent as well. Back to the meal, that along with the gravy which is always welcome to the meal and I decided to revisit the Double Aloha Burger, which I always call the "Big Kahuna Burger", for those who have watched Pulp Fiction, IYKYK. Tried this place out in the Philippines and was excited to have it back here! Didn't disappoint, quality was leagues ahead of other chicken fast food you can get in Manhattan. Nomz: Started with the basics and had a 2 piece, 2 sides meal. One piece spicy and one piece not, both were juicy and perfectly cooked with the spicy not being super noticeably spicy. Had mashed potatoes and white rice as my sides and wow those mashed potatoes came with gravy and were some of the best mashed potatoes I've had in a while, hit the spot. It also came with a separate side of gravy so I added that to my rice and yummmm. Service: There seem to be a lot of complaints about this in the reviews but maybe they upped their game. On advice from multiple friends finally got to try this! Sadly couldn't get the fries but got the standard Chicken Tenders & the biscuits, with honey mustard. Jollibee is probably the most underrated chicken fast food restaurant in my opinion. It's a Filipino chain which has recently expanded rapidly in the United States with location in the northeast, Midwest and west coast. Not many fast food places can boast that they serve spaghetti and rice as sides. I think that makes Jollibee especially family friendly because you Can eat it as a quick meal on the go but also take it home for a sit down dinner. This was my third time at Jollibee and my first time at this location. I usually go to the one on 8th Avenue but I can say that my experience at this location was much better. I ordered on Ubereats and my sandwich was ready much ahead of the scheduled pickup time due to a problem with their ordering system. I explained the issue to the staff and they made me a fresh sandwich so that it wasn't cold. They also took note of the issue with their ordering system to prevent it from happening. My sandwich was ready in a matter of minutes and I was able to enjoy. The Jollibee chicken sandwich is easily one of my favorite chicken sandwiches of all time. I dare say it's better than Popeyes (yes, really!). Every time I have it, it's so juicy. I don't know how they make it so good. I had my sandwich without mayo with just lettuce and tomato and it was still bomb.
