I'm not one to write a bad reviews, but I was just disappointed with the experience and the food. My family and I wanted to try some new, we had to wait an hour and a half for a pick up order. The manger and another woman seemed to be the only ones working cooking and bagging orders. All the other staff where on there phones talking to each other even dancing to the music they where playing on there phones. I'm just confused if this is food place or a hang out spot. Imagine someone using a washing machine, but instead of a full load, they are washing just one sock at a time. As of October 10th, 2024, the staff is absolutely inefficient. Our receipt was time stamped at 12:33pm, we did not get our food until 1:08pm. Jolibee is a well known Filipino fast food chain, famous for their friend chicken. Their chickens are done very well, juicy and tender, with wonderful flavors. Comparable to KFC I guess, but the menu has more SE Asian offerings. Glad Michigan Avenue has more options of fast food chains other than bread and burgers, and affordable eats. i was SO excited to FINALLY try jollibee. sadly, it wasn't jolli at all. spent nearly TWO HOURS of what very little time i had here in chicago just waiting for food. there was a sign when you entered stating that they were understaffed. understandable, i'm pretty forgiving. but when people with buckets and buckets of chicken get their food before you get yours it makes you question whether it's competency or indeed to an understaffed issue. aside from the 30 minute wait to order, we placed our order for two pieces of chicken and the jolli spaghetti. why did it take 44 minutes to get one meal completed? and yes, i timed it. i have never in my life used the term "mid," until i tried jollibee. maybe the spicy chicken is better, but how would i know? they were out. which i don't fault them for at all. the best thing we had was the pineapple quencher and mango peach pie. that's it. chicken wasn't bad at all just really underwhelming. other chicken spots have better flavor. kudos to it being hot and fresh with great crunchy skin. it was just, mid. the jollispaghetti tastes like barbecue flavored spaghetti oh's with a hint of heat. i'll give jollibee another try the next time one pops up. Both with mashed potatoes and gravy. The chicken was crispy and juicy and the potatoes were creamy. I'm a dessert girl so I also grabbed two peach, mango pies. I have been to this location twice now. Both times I had to wait over 20 minutes for food. For chicken. Which is all they make. This past visit, I had them refund my order after waiting 18 minutes, and then asking about my order... The manager huffs, and tells me it will be six more minutes. Both times when I went in this place the windows and entire restaurant is filthy. rude managers. The only good thing about this place are the regular cashiers. First time trying Jollibee and it did not disappoint me! Jollibee is a fast casual dining restaurant serving up traditional and fun Filipino food that you know and love. I got the fried chicken and spaghetti with a mango pie. McDonald's has a lot to learn from jollibee when it comes to their beloved, handheld pies. The crispy exterior paired with the unique tropical flavours of mango is an experience you don't want to miss. I also really enjoyed the chicken and gravy. I ended up drinking the extra gravy... I thought the chicken was cooked perfectly and had a really delicious, crunchy skin that you want from fried chicken. And the spaghetti was a nice pairing. The sauce is somewhat sweet and comes with small bits of sausage and cheese on top. Overall, I really enjoyed my first visit to Jollibee. I love this chain from the Philippines! I no longer live by the other Jollibee in Chicago that is far north so when I saw they opened up one in downtown Chicago I was so ecstatic! The only downside of course is that there's no parking out front so you either gotta pay for parking farther, take CTA, or do a quick order through the website and pick up. I ordered through their website and it was legit ready in 5 min I was really impressed. When I went inside it was huge! Very spacious. Lots of room for groups. There was a long line when I came in too. It seemed faster just to order through the website and pick up your food than waiting in line.
