I stopped by for lunch on a weekday, and since I was coming in before noon there was not a huge crowd here. I decided to dine in, so I was politely asked to show my vaccination card and photo ID while placing my order. I chose one of the combo meals with one piece of "Chickenjoy" (the drumstick - yay!) and Jolly spaghetti. This combo actually includes a beverage, but somehow the person at the register allowed me to downsize and opt out of the beverage, saving me a bit of dough. I then immediately added on a peach mango pie for dessert. The food tray was presented to me only minutes after ordering. This was a solid lunch for me. I ordered the chicken as spicy, but it is not crazy spicy so the drumstick was tasty and crispy. The spaghetti is Filipino-style so it features a sweet tomato-based pasta sauce and also some hot dog slices too. The fried pie was yummy, with a noticeable crunch when you bite into it. After months and months walking by the opening soon, Jollibee on Michigan ave is finally open!!! I ordered delivery, so I can't speak to the physical restaurant itself, but the food was pretty good! The fried chicken was super tasty, crispy on the outside but juicy on the inside. We got half spicy half regular and I really appreciated how they labeled the spicy ones w a little flag. There is definitely a kick to the spicy one, but it's not unbearably spicy! I've heard that the spaghetti can be divisive, but I actually really liked it and so did my friends. It's definitely sweeter than regular spaghetti since I think it uses banana ketchup. I really enjoyed it though! The mashed potatoes were ok and the fries were kind of soggy, but I enjoyed the adobo rice the most for the sides! The peach mango pie was decent - didn't like the crust texture that much but it was a nice new flavor you can't really get elsewhere. Definitely recommend stopping by!! I'm glad they're expanding and we got to try it. The staff speak Tagalog and it's nice to see them helping senior citizens with ordering. I felt like the food was just okay. The tables aren't that clean but it was also busy. The wait is also pretty long because they seemed to run out of fries. The spicy chicken sandwich probably ranks the highest out of all the food I got but I prefer the McDonald's one. The tenders were okay. They were chewy and the breading doesn't have much flavor. The sauces definitely improved it. The fries were fine, not especially crispy or anything. The pie was delicious though. It is super slow like everyone mentions but the same hack I use for kasama I use for the long lines here. Order it, we did this while standing in the line and it worked great. There were workers walking around aimlessly while people waited for their order to be taken and to receive their orders. While waiting, I watched a worker drop a strainer on the ground and proceeded to pick it up and still use it to strain the new batch of gravy. i was SO excited to FINALLY try jollibee. sadly, it wasn't jolli at all. spent nearly TWO HOURS of what very little time i had here in chicago just waiting for food. there was a sign when you entered stating that they were understaffed. understandable, i'm pretty forgiving. but when people with buckets and buckets of chicken get their food before you get yours it makes you question whether it's competency or indeed to an understaffed issue. aside from the 30 minute wait to order, we placed our order for two pieces of chicken and the jolli spaghetti. why did it take 44 minutes to get one meal completed? and yes, i timed it. i have never in my life used the term "mid," until i tried jollibee. maybe the spicy chicken is better, but how would i know? they were out. which i don't fault them for at all. the best thing we had was the pineapple quencher and mango peach pie. that's it. chicken wasn't bad at all just really underwhelming. other chicken spots have better flavor. kudos to it being hot and fresh with great crunchy skin. it was just, mid. the jollispaghetti tastes like barbecue flavored spaghetti oh's with a hint of heat. i'll give jollibee another try the next time one pops up. Tried this location for the first time earlier this month and it was total chaos. I had walked-in the first time so this time I decided to order on the app for pickup. It was even worse. The estimate was 19 minutes and I was about 20 minutes away so figured it would be perfect. After my order was confirmed, the time went to 25 minutes. After I got there and waited patiently for 20 minutes past my estimated ready time, I asked about my order and was told it wasn't up yet. They called out my sandwich and I waited longer. Then I finally got a notification my order was ready after another 20 minutes. I asked about my order and was told "just waiting on the sandwich and fries". I ordered a sandwich, fries and a drink. They called out my sandwich again and then another 20 minutes later my name was called and I received an order. There were no seats available because everyone was saving a seat before they got their food so I left. I finally open the bag to eat and it was the wrong sandwich. There is no option to add gravy except for extra large which is way too much for side of fries. Being busy is no excuse for terrible service. Probably the worse Jollibee establishment in the US. They did not have burgersteak when I was there but they have burgers. How can you run out of burgersteak when it's just the burgers and rice with the sauce?! Got the bucket of chicken, they forgot the gravy. The one in Seafood city and Skokie gives two cups of gravy.l if you order a 10 pc bucket. This store forgets to give me one and refuses to give me two. Really, this is jollibee, not Popeyes. The workers had no hospitality. No smile. And every little request seemed like a hassle for them. The garbage was piled high. There were no napkins. And it was just a mess. I didn't appreciate having two homeless people beg me for food. It felt uncomfortable even when I offered to purchase a sandwich, the homeless were so specific on what they wanted. It was not a good experience. The manager would pop out every now and then to start yelling at the workers to stop talking or work faster and then she would disappear and it was back to slow pace again. Poor management style especially needing to show everyone you need to yell at your team for them to be forced to work. The better Jollibee is the other northern chicago location. If this wasn't just so close to my hotel that time I went, I would have never gone. Next time I'll avoid this location. The first impression when I walked in the restaurant is the temperature inside was high (I would say at least 80F) and humid. The line was long, because there is only one order taker. It took awhile for me to placed the order. They are having a 25th Anniversary promotions and I placed 12 pieces of fried chicken for $25.00. Sadly I was informed fried chicken will take at least 15 minutes to cook. I finally got the fried chicken and they are all dark meat. $25 for 12 pieces of dark meat fried chicken is way more expensive than KFC or Pop-eye. The chicken tastes moist and pretty much as good as KFC or Pop-eye. But their staff were so rude, when I mentioned it was hot inside and the fountain drink was not working properly. First time trying Jollibee and it did not disappoint me! Jollibee is a fast casual dining restaurant serving up traditional and fun Filipino food that you know and love. I got the fried chicken and spaghetti with a mango pie. McDonald's has a lot to learn from jollibee when it comes to their beloved, handheld pies. The crispy exterior paired with the unique tropical flavours of mango is an experience you don't want to miss. I also really enjoyed the chicken and gravy. I ended up drinking the extra gravy... I thought the chicken was cooked perfectly and had a really delicious, crunchy skin that you want from fried chicken. And the spaghetti was a nice pairing. The only downside of course is that there's no parking out front so you either gotta pay for parking farther, take CTA, or do a quick order through the website and pick up. I ordered through their website and it was legit ready in 5 min I was really impressed. When I went inside it was huge! Very spacious. Lots of room for groups. There was a long line when I came in too. It seemed faster just to order through the website and pick up your food than waiting in line.
