First thing is first... This was the first time my wife had Jollibee since leaving the Philippines. Filipina approval! (I was so afraid it wouldn't live up to the same standards and quality.). So why 3 stars? This location. Good lord. We might go to the burbs locations on our next visit. This location is on Michigan Avenue right across from the Art Museum. It's already a busy area... pair that with all the downtown Filipinos eating here and all of the other people that have heard how Filipinos love their Jollibee... what a recipe for disaster-busy. The first time we went... we stood in line for 10 minutes just to be told the wait time would be 1 hour. We decided to leave and return another time... but the next time we placed an online order in advance. Before leaving the aquarium, we placed the order for pickup... the app told us the order would be ready within 10 minutes. Ok... sounds good. We had a 30ish minute walk ahead. We arrived 50 minutes after the Order Ready ETA... and still had to wait 20 minutes more before someone even spoke to us at the pick-up side. Needless to say, it was an absolute madhouse every time we visited or walked by. Complete chaos, and I can only hope those employees are paid well. Food-wise - It was delicious. My wife had Jolly spaghetti and chickenjoy. I just wanted a chicken sandwich, and it was delicious. I was able to eat half of it one day and half of it later that night after a concert. I also ordered an Ube pie... something I didn't get to try while in the Philippines because all we could ever find were peach mango pies and buko pies. It was also delicious! So with that... if you need your Jolibee and can be patient through the long wait... you'll be satisfied. I love Jolibee, and I'm generally a patient person, but the headache with this place is too much. I'll try the other Chicago locations next time.

Jollibee Chicken is soo good! It was very crispy and juicy. By far one of the better (if not best) fast food fried chicken we've had. I thought the sides were okay. Not really a fan of their sweet spaghetti but the adobo rice seasoning was solid (albeit the texture a tad mushy). Peach mango pie was yummy. The main downside was how ridiculously long the wait was. We waited 2+ hours for our meal and the order counter was very disorganized. Lots of premade chicken sitting out and orders scattered. Otherwise their food is good.

Trying to figure out my refund was another mind blowing ordeal apparently

Absolutely awful, AVOID this place. Was excited to see it as it's been years since my last time in Makati and Manila. Ordered an Ube pie and coconut dream freeze... waited 15 minutes for the drink that was never made. Watched the employee try to figure out how to make it, get on her phone, go in the back for a while, go back on the phone, made one (?) then dumped it out and proceeded to repeat. I went up to the cashier at least 4 times, asked him for my money back as we expected a quick in and out here ( it is a fast food place after all). I do understand they had opened 5 minutes earlier so they were getting things up and running, but let me know that upon ordering and don't tell me it'll be 2 minutes.... We had to get to Wrigley and finally demanded and was given our money back. Ube pie was fried crap; couldn't finish one bite. No drink. Yuck.

First time having Jollibee and I have to say it most definitely lives up to the hype. I got the 3 piece meal with a side of fries, and a biscuit. Also got their pineapple refresher, 10/10 on the drink. The chicken was nice and fresh, juicy and packed with flavor. Only reason I'm not going themba 5 star is because they ran out of change to give back with was a bummer back no biggie their drink machine was iceless so it made the drinks hot.

Aloha Chicken !!!! Very interesting combination of fried chicken , pineapple not grilled to perfection :( , bacon , lettuce and some Aloha sauce that was so so , got the combo w fries and a soda . My associate went pig wild and ordered Chicken and rice , this crazy spaghetti dish w hot dogs and all meals came w fries .

The cashier was polite and hospitable but they had me waiting 20 minutes on a burger, at 20 minutes they haven't even started so I got a refund. Wasted most of my break.

2pc Chickenjoy w/ Palabok Fiesta

This is far from fast food, as our meal took a while to get to us! We went on a Sunday at 5pm and the place was 1/3 full. Jollibee ran out of their buzzers for some people, so they had to call out orders. The table was quite dirty, but thankfully an employee wiped them down shortly after. After 20 min of waiting and a large group order in front of us, we finally got our 2 pc Chickenjoy w/ Palabok Fiesta. The chicken was the better part of the meal, where the pieces paired well with their gravy. The palabok, however, tasted quite muted, but it's from a fast food chain so it makes sense. The worst part of my experience was that I saw an employee refill the ice and touch them with their bare hands, after wiping down tables! Quite unsanitary. Between the service and cleanliness, I won't be returning.

Spicy Chicken Sandwich

I've been wanting to try Jollibee for years, and I finally decided to order it for dinner when I saw it on DoorDash. I got the 2-piece chicken meal with a side of spaghetti, the peach mango pie, and a spicy chicken sandwich. First, the chicken was phenomenal--probably the best bone-in chicken I've ever had from a fast-food spot. While I'm usually more of a boneless kind of guy and one of my pieces didn't have much meat, the leg piece was perfect. The gravy it came with was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the chicken. I might try the tenders next time, but the bone-in chicken is hard to beat! The spaghetti was a must-try for me because I've heard so much about it. It's definitely unconventional for fast food, but it was surprisingly good--I loved it! The unique sweet-savory flavor totally worked for me. The spicy chicken sandwich was solid--no complaints there. But the peach mango pie? That was incredible! Hands down better than McDonald's apple pie by a mile. Overall, I'd get Jollibee anytime I'm in the area. For fast food, the quality exceeded my expectations. I didn't dine in, so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere or some of the other lower reviews but the food and delivery were perfect. For what it is, Jollibee deserves a solid 5 stars!

Spicy Deluxe

I've decided to be nice. A fast-food restaurant forgetting an ingredient is not an unforgivable act. Also, the bar for fast-food is lower than that of fast-casual (looking at you, Lucy's). After reading some horror stories in others' reviews, I was ready to have good food, but potentially abysmal service. In my experience, both the service and the food were fine, neither is anything to write home about. I stopped in at 11am to beat the lunch rush. I ordered a Spicy Deluxe, and it came out 5 minutes later (I checked). No issues with the service, not black tie, but perfectly fine for fast food. The sandwich was also acceptable for a place like this. The chicken seemed to have spent some quality time hanging out under a lamp, though that is to be expected. What *was* a pleasant surprise is the piece of chicken was notably large, and had a terrific crisp crust. On the flip side, I did find it a bit dry despite the veggies. Also, those jalapenos would have been instrumental in adding some heat, as a sriracha-based mayo is not enough to tingle my tastebuds. Final note: I did like the bread - brioche? Thus, we have a fast-food chicken shop which I (controversially?) prefer to Chick-Fil-A. Compared to McD's, it depends on how well run is the McD's! While there are better fried chicken spots within a couple blocks, Jollibee works in a pinch. Now, can we please add some wings to our Bee friend? They seem to be hidden most of the time!

Horrible service . Expect a 30 minute wait even without a line. Food has been sitting there waiting for someone to just hand it to me. This location needs better management

I felt a greed overwhelm me this time. I always have a fantastic time eating Jollibee but this time was different, a bit sinister. The greed told me to destroy Jollibee so that I could be the last person to ever taste the beauty of Jollibee. Minutes of eating Jollibee felt like seconds. After I finished my meal, I went to the bathroom and then tripped on the bathroom door coming out. When I tripped, a worker held the door for me and helped me up. An Angel. That brought me back to my senses. Thank you. The wait will always be long once you come here. That's what you get when you're dating someone so popular I mean eating somewhere popular. It is something I will always be willing to bear for you Jollyboyfriend.

Went on a Monday late afternoon and our order took over 30 minutes. I ordered a 10 pc bucket along with 2 Ube pies and a yum burger. We received only 1 Ube pie and the other being mango pie. The only positive is that the chicken was fresh out of the fryer. They need to work on the efficiency of the kitchen.

Menu

No line to order but once you order and pay, you're told its a 25 minute wait time. The ice machine has no ice and inside is very warm. Guess AC is not working. Employees come out with ice in their cups to get their drinks but don't refill the ice machine so you get warm fountain drink. Do NOT come here if you dont have time or patience to wait 50 minutes or longer for your order. No apologies for the long waiting either. Chicken is good though.

Waiting waiting waiting.

The result is meat that is naturally less tender and moist. I was going to ding them until I realized this; thus, it's not a criticism, just the reality of the cut. Their menu is incredibly simple! There are some options available (e.g., sandwich as plain, hot, honey, honey-hot). They also have fries, nuggets, and cans of soda. This simplicity means they're able to specialize very well and make deliciousness! I ordered a sandwich, honey-hot, with the standard mayo and pickles. The chicken was hot and crisp with a thin layer of scrumptious crust. The meat was cooked well, especially given the nature of chicken breast. The honey wasn't overdone and gave a pleasant sweetness. The heat reminded me of Tabasco sauce; while respectable, and the acidity helped add a new flavor dimension, the heat was minimal for my palate. It would be nice if Red Light offered an extra-hot option. The pickles and mayo were in perfect amounts, and the bread was a fresh brioche. Bonus points for the sando not falling apart on me, as happens with places that stuff massive, lopsided thighs to look pretty on Instagram. The service was lightning quick! I had the sandwich in hand less than a minute after ordering. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and polite also. The value is great! In a world where everything costs an arm and a leg, $8 for a reasonably sized chicken sandwich is more than reasonable. Finally, there is no indoor seating whatsoever. There are, however, ample standing-room tables around, with one having overhead heaters. Thus, while not necessarily a destination, Red Light Chicken is a phenomenal neighborhood chicken shop!

Coming from Texas, fried chicken has to be on point, no exceptions. Let me just say... this place surprised me in the best way. Our server, Leslie, was fantastic and had great recommendations right from the start. We kicked things off with: * Deviled eggs -- absolutely incredible, especially with that crispy ham on top. I can't say enough good things about them. Order these. * Biscuits -- buttery, flaky perfection. Paired with the butter and jam, they were dangerous. * Hush puppies -- I usually don't even like hush puppies, but these were next-level. Super crispy, not your typical cornbread taste, and the pepper jam took them to another dimension. I was shocked how much I loved them. For mains: * My wife and I split the fried chicken with mashed potatoes. The chicken was solid--juicy and tasty--but I'll be honest, I wanted it a little crispier and more heavily seasoned. Still very good overall. * My mom and goddaughter got the chicken sandwiches, and they were so juicy the juice literally shot out and got all over my daughter's clothes. That's how you know it's real. * My daughter ordered the shrimp and lobster roll on Texas toast. I stole a bite and it straight-up melted in my mouth. The seafood was perfectly seasoned, and the crispy bread was the ideal vehicle. We also did the hot chocolate flight (the alcoholic-infused one ). Every single one was delicious, but the Baileys version? Unreal. Highly recommend. Service was top-tier--Leslie took such good care of us. Heads up: they automatically add 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more, but our service was so good we happily tipped on top of that. If you're from the South (especially Texas) and you've been struggling to find food in Chicago that actually hits right--this is the spot. Phenomenal experience from start to finish. We'll definitely be back.
