I swore I would never write a review like this but I stopped in yesterday to grab a quick snack but it was my first time there so I was not sure what was available. My relatives rave about the food so I thought I would try it. The kiosk at the front of the store was open so I stopped to peruse the menu and was accosted by a security person who harassed me, telling me not to use the kiosk. When I told him that I was just seeing if there was something to order he kept trying to push me to go to the front, where there was a LONG line. I felt immediately unwelcome so I left without ordering. I doubt I will be back. It sounds like from reading the other reviews that service is an issue at this location. read more

It's good! Food was great and as expected. Service was fast and friendly. And everything was clean and organized, there's not much more to ask for. It's a little pricey but i feel i got a good amount for what i paid! I got the FFXIV box special, which was a piece of fried chicken, fries, a chicken sandwich, a pie, and a drink. I'm not sure if it's a regular option, but that was great. Unfortunately my phone died after I got my drink, so i have no photos of the food. I came for the FFXIV Box meal. 25 bucks, btw, crazy. The kiosks weren't working so I couldn't order that way, so I went to the counter. The employee (bless her this ain't her fault) said it would be about a 5-10 minute wait until she could take my order. When I finally did order, the food took 25-30 minutes. All the while, they were only taking one customer's order every 5 minutes or so. I feel bad for the people behind me. Anyway I finally got my box meal. Well, bagged meal. No FFXIV box, no promised stickers, and even the boba cup was just a normal soda cup with a normal soda straw. I didn't see any boba straws around nearby so I just kinda had to sip the drink and chuck the boba into my mouth like a heathen. The food was okay and I did get my emote code for the event. But this location seems to have a managerial problem, in which to me it looked like it didn't even have one. My server was doing all she could but I could tell she was really overwhelmed and the pace was just really slow. I dunno, it's a bummer. The three stars are for the food because it is amazing! I had been wanting to try Jollibee for so long and was finally able to. The fried chicken is everything you want fried chicken to be: crunchy and juicy! I got a 2 piece chicken (one spicy, one regular) with 2 sides (fries and a mashed potato). The spicy is spicy but tolerable and both pieces were very delicious. The gravy the serve you to dunk your chicken in is so flavorful. I was dipping my fries in it. The place was packed and disorganized as well as dirty. The service, however, was very quick. We ended up getting an ube pie and a mango pie to go. First thing is first... This was the first time my wife had Jollibee since leaving the Philippines. Filipina approval! (I was so afraid it wouldn't live up to the same standards and quality.). So why 3 stars? This location. Good lord. We might go to the burbs locations on our next visit. This location is on Michigan Avenue right across from the Art Museum. It's already a busy area... pair that with all the downtown Filipinos eating here and all of the other people that have heard how Filipinos love their Jollibee... what a recipe for disaster-busy. The first time we went... we stood in line for 10 minutes just to be told the wait time would be 1 hour. We decided to leave and return another time... but the next time we placed an online order in advance. Before leaving the aquarium, we placed the order for pickup... the app told us the order would be ready within 10 minutes. Ok... sounds good. We had a 30ish minute walk ahead. We arrived 50 minutes after the Order Ready ETA... and still had to wait 20 minutes more before someone even spoke to us at the pick-up side. Needless to say, it was an absolute madhouse every time we visited or walked by. Complete chaos, and I can only hope those employees are paid well. Food-wise - It was delicious. My wife had Jolly spaghetti and chickenjoy. I just wanted a chicken sandwich, and it was delicious. I was able to eat half of it one day and half of it later that night after a concert. I also ordered an Ube pie... something I didn't get to try while in the Philippines because all we could ever find were peach mango pies and buko pies. It was also delicious! So with that... if you need your Jolibee and can be patient through the long wait... you'll be satisfied. Jollibee Chicken is soo good! It was very crispy and juicy. By far one of the better (if not best) fast food fried chicken we've had. I thought the sides were okay. Not really a fan of their sweet spaghetti but the adobo rice seasoning was solid (albeit the texture a tad mushy). Peach mango pie was yummy. The main downside was how ridiculously long the wait was. Absolutely awful, AVOID this place. Was excited to see it as it's been years since my last time in Makati and Manila. Ordered an Ube pie and coconut dream freeze... waited 15 minutes for the drink that was never made. Watched the employee try to figure out how to make it, get on her phone, go in the back for a while, go back on the phone, made one (?) then dumped it out and proceeded to repeat. I've heard so many great things about Jollibee. Unfortunately, after waiting in a line of about 7 people, I left after 30 minutes. Never even placed an order. The staff is so inefficient. I watched the cashier try to flatten receipts for about five minutes to give them to the kitchen. They all curled right back up and he finally just passed them on. Mind you, this was like 7 orders. So much food just sitting on warming racks waiting to be served, but the staff was stuck in slow motion. I was one of several that finally walked out. I walked a block down and went to Chik Fil A. This is far from fast food, as our meal took a while to get to us! We went on a Sunday at 5pm and the place was 1/3 full. Jollibee ran out of their buzzers for some people, so they had to call out orders. The table was quite dirty, but thankfully an employee wiped them down shortly after. After 20 min of waiting and a large group order in front of us, we finally got our 2 pc Chickenjoy w/ Palabok Fiesta. The chicken was the better part of the meal, where the pieces paired well with their gravy. The palabok, however, tasted quite muted, but it's from a fast food chain so it makes sense. The worst part of my experience was that I saw an employee refill the ice and touch them with their bare hands, after wiping down tables! Quite unsanitary. I've been wanting to try Jollibee for years, and I finally decided to order it for dinner when I saw it on DoorDash. I got the 2-piece chicken meal with a side of spaghetti, the peach mango pie, and a spicy chicken sandwich. First, the chicken was phenomenal--probably the best bone-in chicken I've ever had from a fast-food spot. While I'm usually more of a boneless kind of guy and one of my pieces didn't have much meat, the leg piece was perfect. The gravy it came with was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the chicken. I might try the tenders next time, but the bone-in chicken is hard to beat! The spaghetti was a must-try for me because I've heard so much about it. It's definitely unconventional for fast food, but it was surprisingly good--I loved it! The unique sweet-savory flavor totally worked for me. The spicy chicken sandwich was solid--no complaints there. But the peach mango pie? That was incredible! Hands down better than McDonald's apple pie by a mile. Overall, I'd get Jollibee anytime I'm in the area. For fast food, the quality exceeded my expectations. I didn't dine in, so I can't comment on the service or atmosphere or some of the other lower reviews but the food and delivery were perfect. I've decided to be nice. A fast-food restaurant forgetting an ingredient is not an unforgivable act. Also, the bar for fast-food is lower than that of fast-casual (looking at you, Lucy's). After reading some horror stories in others' reviews, I was ready to have good food, but potentially abysmal service. In my experience, both the service and the food were fine, neither is anything to write home about. I stopped in at 11am to beat the lunch rush. I ordered a Spicy Deluxe, and it came out 5 minutes later (I checked). No issues with the service, not black tie, but perfectly fine for fast food. The sandwich was also acceptable for a place like this. The chicken seemed to have spent some quality time hanging out under a lamp, though that is to be expected. What *was* a pleasant surprise is the piece of chicken was notably large, and had a terrific crisp crust. On the flip side, I did find it a bit dry despite the veggies. Also, those jalapenos would have been instrumental in adding some heat, as a sriracha-based mayo is not enough to tingle my tastebuds. Final note: I did like the bread - brioche? Thus, we have a fast-food chicken shop which I (controversially?) prefer to Chick-Fil-A. Compared to McD's, it depends on how well run is the McD's! While there are better fried chicken spots within a couple blocks, Jollibee works in a pinch. Now, can we please add some wings to our Bee friend? They seem to be hidden most of the time! read more

This is a very busy branch and I'm happy to see business is thriving! There was a long line to order and wait time was 45 minutes and more. Chicago marathon runners and family were predominantly at the restaurant. Ashley the cashier is a saving grace. She was in command, nice and helpful, as well as everyone else. This was my first time at Jollibee. My son recommended it after our visit to The Art Institute, across the street. We ordered the dark meat, spaghetti, gravy, biscuits, and peach/mango pie. I could have sipped on the gravy with a straw! The chicken seems to pair with everything savory - rice, chicken, biscuit. Quite frankly, the chicken doesn't need any help, it stands very nicely on its own. I also sampled the side of spaghetti. It had an interesting taste, but if you're used to the way your mom makes it, it's an acquired taste. The wait was quite long, but more than made up for it with the food. So my expectations for wait time and service were very low based on what seemed like a consensus in other reviews, but my experience was actually very smooth and easy. Stopped in on a Friday around 4:30pm so perhaps was just outside of busy hours, but there was no line, service at the counter was friendly, and I got my food quickly. The menu is somewhat confusing for a newcomer (many configurations of almost the same but slightly different combos), and the options for sides weren't displayed (heard the cashier repeating the list of sides multiple times to people who came in after me), but I knew what I want so guessed the best option for me and it was correct. I got the 2 piece Chickenjoy Meal Deal which comes with a choice of side, a drink, and a peach mango pie. For the side I got the Jolly Spaghetti, and for the drink I got the Pineapple Quencher (I think +$0.60 upcharge). It was my first time ever trying Jollibee and I was impressed with the food! The pineapple quencher drink was amazing, really tasted like fresh pineapple juice. Then the chicken was so hot and crispy and juicy. The 2 pc came with one drumstick and one thigh. Alone, the chicken kind of just tastes like good fried chicken, but the gravy really makes it more unique. It is thick and peppery and tasty. I dowsed my chicken in the gravy. The Jolly Spaghetti was most surprising to me because I have only ever heard others describe this as "sweet spaghetti". While I see why others say that, I wouldn't describe it as sweet spaghetti. It actually tastes more to me like a ketchupy cheesy hot dog spaghetti haha, with a bit of sweetness. Finally the peach mango pie was good. Hot and flaky crispy outside, with a sweet and thickly syrupy fruit filling. I thought it would maybe taste like real fruit (like the pineapple drink) but it is more of the artificial fruit taste. This was my first time at Jollibee and probably my last. To be fair, most of the issues were with the service as it seemed most of the food was already prepared but we still waited over 10 minutes for our orders even though it wasn't too busy. I said it was fine and I would just take the mashed potatoes with gravy but then I ended up waiting almost 15 minutes for my order anyways. The gravy wasn't very good so I ate around it. Fries were okay. The chicken was actually pretty good and I can see why people do like the chicken, I just wished there wasn't mayo on the sandwich too. My friend tried the jolly spaghetti and said it was like a sweet bbq tomato sauce and almost like eating spagehttios. They did actually enjoy the beef steak and the spicy chicken. The location is perfect for a quick bite after the Bean or the Museum. However, service was incredibly disappointing. Even if short-staffed, the rudeness, especially from one employee was unacceptable. It was obvious his shouting and behavior made both guests and staff uncomfortable. When the young lady called our name to pick up the order, we approached within 20 seconds, but the male employee got impatient and YELLED our name SO loudly.
