I only had John for our pool service for a few months before we ended up selling our house but plan on getting a pool built in our new place; if he'd travel I'd request his service again. He was solid; explained his services clearly before he started, and then he showed up. Every week. I work from home so I know when service people come by i.e. Pest control, lawn maintenance, pool service etc- they're not all created equal. My previous pool guy wouldn't show up at least 1x out of 4- I'd have to call him on it. He'd many times not be available when I had a question, or if my equipment wasn't running right he would tell me he'd take a look but it would go on for week with no look or fix unless I followed up. Amazing! Isn't enough to describe the service you get from Johnson's pool care. Seriously, I have a tough pool that requires expert service because off all the oak trees and redwoods in my backyard. Had a great experience. John came out and gave me the run down on my current equipment. He quickly identified a couple areas that I had concern in. I asked his opinion on some equipment options and was surprised when he advised me that I could be well equipped by going with a pump and filter size that was smaller than I had thought I needed after internet research. This gave me the confidence that I would not be sold more than what was necessary. I asked him to give me other options and he presented me with three options on a pool pump and filter set up. My nature is to want to upgrade and sometimes buy a little more than what is necessary. John reassured me that I could do just fine and that I would be happy with the results with option A which was the cheapest of the quotes he gave. But the other two higher priced options gave me some added benefits that were not necessarily needed, but some bells and whistles that I wanted to go after. I went with the higher priced option and he assured me that I would be extremely happy with the choice. But he left it totally up to me with no pressure. He installed the equipment, reconfigured some of the piping and upgraded the damaged valves I had- and everything turned out great. I went with a variable speed 2.7 hp pump and a little larger filter than I had originally had him speck out. I love the equipment and happy with the service that I received. I have a LED light upgrade I'd like to do in the future and will call him back out for that. I would highly recommend this company for your pool needs. read more

What can I say....? A job well done to say the least. I first came in contact with Johnson Pools when I was buying a new home with a disgusting looking hole in a ground. He responded in a timely fashion when it was convenient for me. They took an interest in my needs and were very honest and reliable. They told me exactly what chemicals I would need to get my Hole back in serviceable condition, so my friends and family would be splashing in that thing in no time! Five stars is not enough for what they have truly done for me. Most companies would quote me thousands upon thousands of dollars for the work done at a fraction of a cost. John and his team have done things that you cannot put a price tag on. Things such as saving my cat from drinking chlorine water, vacuuming my pet bird Jaime Reyes' defecation from the pool, and even teaching my son to doggy paddle while I was vacationing abroad in Europe for the month of August. Wow! Can I just say I am so happy that I found John. I called him in a hurry asking if he could come check out the 50 year old pool heater at the house I just bought and he was there the next day. Not only did he make sure of getting there as soon as possible, but he ordered a pool heater and scheduled it to be installed the very next day at a very fair price. He was super friendly and explained to me that he has owned his pool company for 23 years. When he came to install the pool heater the next day he was on time. He brought his two sons to help him install the pool heater (which I thought was adorable!)and explained the layout of what was going on with my pool/spa and what it needed and what was so great about it. I'm stoked that I found John. He made the whole experience stress free. While he was leaving, I asked if he had a drill so I could fix the latch on the back gate and he happily fixed it for me. He did that after 4 hours of labor. That's awfully kind of him in my book. Would give more stars if I could. read more

He knows what he is doing and he does what he says he will do. He remodeled my pool, added a gorgeous water feature, and most recently added a variable power motor on the filter system that is saving me hundreds of dollars every month on my PG&E bill.
