For the actual moving, they were INSANELY fast, and we were ahead of schedule the whole time. Genuinely moving at the speed of light. We were in and out of my old place in 40 minutes (granted, that depends on the amount of stuff). Romy was super nice, very reassuring, and all of them helped me move the extra stuff from my car as well. All my more delicate furniture was wrapped nicely and moved carefully. Overall, I went into this with a lot of stress beforehand, but was left feeling reassured and pretty calm. No complaints, would hire again!

He assured me everything would go completely smoothly. Their claims department offered me $150 as compensation, even with more than $8000 worth of estimates/receipts from contractors and handymen. We cannot recommend this mover to anyone. They moved my 99 year- old mother-in-law from one two…read morebedroom apartment to another one just down the block. They arrived at the first apartment at 9 am and did not finish packing until 9 pm. They did not complete the move until 2:30 am! Per my mother-in-law, the company sent someone ahead to assess the apartment, the furniture, and provide an estimate. He estimated 10 hours but the move took 15 hours and they charged by the hour, which added several hundred dollars to the cost. If someone comes to assess, would that person not measure the furniture and the elevator? (the movers claimed items were too big to move or could not fit in the elevator). That should be the point of a preliminary visit. At one point, they threatened not to unload the truck unless they were paid immediately. They also broke a fixture in the building hallway which led the building's manager to keep calling us, adding to the stress. Initially, they denied breaking it, though it was clear there was no other way this could have happened. This is no way to do business. The entire episode left our family with a terrible feeling and was highly upsetting to a fragile 99 year old.

tl;dr Dispatch was great, crew was horrible…read more I want to be fair. Dispatch was professional, helpful, and the price was reasonable, especially for short notice. I wasn't pushed to give more of a tip, although I did tip more than recommended. I was initially really satisfied, but have since discovered they deliberately damaged a 6-level stacked metal card cabinet. When I included it in the inventory, I wasn't aware there were still items in the drawers. Our move was extremely chaotic, and the moving service that we used prior, checked all drawers to make sure they were empty, before moving items. People make mistakes, especially in stressful circumstances. Nonetheless, I accept that the responsibility of checking was still ultimately mine. However, if I had been made aware there were still items inside, I would have apologized, and either offered to pay more, or moved the drawers myself. After arriving at the new location, my son heard clinking sounds, as one of the movers walked past him smirking, while shaking and swinging the drawers, one in each hand. He then threw the drawers on their sides, onto one of my metal bookcases, which was apparently repeated for all 6 stacks. Between the throwing and shaking, the outer surfaces of the drawers and top of the bookcase were scratched and scuffed. The individual drawers were so badly dented that I had trouble putting several back in once removed, to retrieve the items that had been flung into the very back, past the drawers. They could have refused to take the cabinet, like they did with several boxes I had pointed out at the beginning of the move as needing to be prioritized. I had to beg and offer them more money to get those boxes onto the truck, because they said they'd already taken enough items. It wasn't until they called dispatch that they were told I had preemptively paid more the day before, because I didn't want to risk undercounting the boxes and other items. Dispatch said I didn't owe anything more, and told them to take the boxes. I was trying to understand why this crew didn't simply decline to move the cabinet, like with the boxes. They would have been well within their rights, because it violated their company's policy. Given the smirking and throwing, the only conclusion I can make is that this crew found messing with customers and damaging their items, fun.
