Life saver and wallet saver. The main breaker at my house went bad and was tripping with no major appliances on. I called one electric company and before they even looked at it they said i was overloaded and wanted me to upgrade my panel. I knew i wasn't overloaded. I called John and we started texting, he asked several questions and he had an idea of what the problem was. I sent him photos of my panel and he quoted me before coming out. He texted me later on that he was available and he came out. Within 20 minutes he was done. I went from a $2,000 quote to a $180 repair (including parts). Its been two months and everything is working great. He took the time and explained everything to me while working and why he was doing it. Obviously, he likes to inform his customers which I really like. He answered all my questions and provided a complete answer which left me feeling comfortable with his work after he left. I take electrical work very seriously and I don't trust anybody who doesn't seem to have answers or doesn't like to be questioned. A lot of people don't like that he texts, its different but obviously he prefers it and it works, so I didn't mind. He asks what he needs to know and gets back to you when he can. There was a gap between the texts but i had patience and he came through in the end. He's my go to guy for electrical work going forward. read more

This was such a bizarre experience. I asked this company for an estimate on purchasing and installing a particular camera (and gave all the specifications). Out of several people who were contacted, he was the only one that told me to buy the camera first and then contact him. The request CLEARLY said that we wanted the camera purchased for us in the requested estimate. Otherwise, why would I provide all the specifics? He went off on a rant about what if we don't like the camera, why we'd have to put down a deposit and sign a contract, and all this other stuff. We have had six other cameras installed and never had this problem. A couple other companies wanted to introduce us to new camera and DVR options and just gave us estimates, so we could fully understand the price. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of an "estimate." No one asked him to buy the camera right at this very moment. We were just curious about what the rate would be to pay for both parts and labor. Weirdest experience ever. But at least I know not to ever contact this company again. read more

I absolutely couldn't recommend anyone more than John! Around 5pm on a Saturday my breakers blew the entire house four times in an hour with no explanation. I randomly started calling Yelp electricians and John was immediately responsive and here with the part I needed in under an hour! He's incredibly friendly, professional, smart and gave me all the options, including the "cheap" fix and the way he would recommend. John is an exceptional electrician and REALLY knows his craft. Over the past 15 years I have used him so many times, I've lost count. He dug a trench and supplied electricity to a large water fountain in the yard, he has installed numerous ceiling fans and dimmers on light switches, He has installed new outlets (both interior and exterior) for me, he maintains little mushroom landscaping lights twice a year, provides ongoing hallway and staircase lighting maintenance on apartment buildings, has replaced light fixtures and also knows how to fix other things like install a new lock or help with light carpentry. I only have great things to say about John--and when someone is that great, you hesitate to tell the whole world about it because you're afraid he'll be too busy next time you need him, but I decided to pay it forward and share the love. I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed working with John. John is patient, kind, punctual, affordable and one hell of an electrician/detective. He first came out to our house about a year ago to hang 2 chandeliers and mount our TV over our the fireplace. He gave us a free estimate at a time that was convenient with our work schedules which was far less expensive than the other 4 bids we received. He also advised on some of the missing parts we needed to buy prior to the install. When John ran into unexpected issues (our house is built in 1894) I was horrified that we wouldn't be able to afford finishing the job but John didn't give up and he didn't increase his estimate, saying "it happens" and "we couldn't have known unless we opened up the wall...it's not your fault." He stayed all day running a conduit through our very old walls and didn't once complain. We've enjoyed our fancy fireplace mounted TV with over the past year and guests are always amazed that we were able to run 4 HDMI cords behind the wall, across the room, to a perfectly hidden bookshelf. He came out again this week to investigate a non-functioning ceiling light and was able to provide us with options and a workaround that allowed us to hang our new bedroom chandelier.
