Disclosures said to "put a bucket" under the leaks in heavy rain. Started talking to roofers, and some tried and failed (still needed a bucket), but one said it was the chimney not the roof. Jeff came by, inspected, and recommended that the mortar between bricks (eaten away over time by the elements and covered in moss, hint) had to be sanded down and redone. Jeff did that, replaced the chimney cap, and even sealed all around the interface between the chimney and roof. The heavy rains of Dec '21 came and went without a drop. Perfection. And the workmanship is clearly excellent when you look at it, up close too. Thanks Jeff!! We highly recommend you.

TL;DR Do yourself a big favor and have Mr Chimney handle your Chimney repair and maintenance needs…read more I cannot give enough praise for the service I received from Martin and his crew. The back story is that I had been looking for help with repairing my chimney (new cap and cover) and found a couple of service providers in San Francisco where I live. It appeared that they were highly rated and so I had them come out and give me a quote. They did but the quotes were under names that were different from the name on the websites which raised concerns (do your homework and check out the business address on the website and check for license number before having them come out). I asked for contractor license numbers and they either didn't have or it was under a different name which raised more concerns. I began to look elsewhere and found someone who was a licensed contractor but they refused to come over and look at it before giving me a quote and were not going to be able to do the work for another couple of weeks. Finally I found Mister Chimney (licensed and bonded in California #1160652) and was able to schedule an inspection right away. Martin (the owner) came over and inspected it himself. I showed him where the other chimney service providers had accessed the roof but he insisted on another access point so as to avoid damaging the rain gutters despite the fact that it was a much higher and more difficult access point (the other chimney service providers didn't even consider and sure enough had done some damage to the rain gutters). Martin was able to inspect and give me a quote on the spot and scheduled the work to be done that week. The guys who came over and did the work did a great job and the cost matched the quote which was very fair and below the cost the other chimney service providers quoted. I only wish I would have found Mister Chimney sooner.

The technician team came out on time to install a new chimney cap and damper. When they got up on the roof, they realized that our chase cover had a huge hole in it. Instead of installing the chimney cap and damper, they recommended getting it replaced first so that everything could be done together. The office was also responsive and easy to coordinate with. We're overall very happy with the honest service and everything works great!

First, the counters are large (the island is about 13' x 5') and required seams in obvious places. Second, we wanted to match an earlier, somewhat unusual edge profile. The bookmatch on the island is beautifully done; most visitors assume it's all one piece, because the long seam in the middle is so well crafted.
