THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING! I went in, "thinking" about an electric bike (hadn't ridden since I was a kid, not in the best shape & knew Z·E·R·O about bikes...felt like a total idiot). But, George was WONDERFUL & instead of making me feel old & out of shape, he was encouraging & listened to what I wanted, he knew my budget, stuck to it & helped me find THEE PERFECT BIKE! As a matter of fact, it was such a good match for my needs that I logged over 750 miles in the first 2 months. After 2 more months, I got bored with riding on paved trails & roads, so I went back & told John & Joseph how I was feeling. They're also great listener & 2 weeks later I was riding an electric mountain bike on the beautiful, woodsy trails of Ohio (I'm 70+ yrs old, so WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT I'd be riding a mountain bike?!! But, thanks to Johnny Velo's, that's EXACTLY what I'm doing)! And once again, I LOVE my RAMBLAS E-MTB!! If you're even THINKING about riding a bike, take a stroll into that store and talk to those folks. They KNOW what they're talking about, are the best listeners and they will take your budget into consideration and get you the perfect bike to meet all your needs! Every time I go in, they answer every stupid question & treat me like a Queen. They make sure the bike is working well and they take excellent care of "their" people. They have also taken my old janky bikes and done em' up right and affordably. Love the way they are contributing to the local community as well. This is a great local bike shop. I had a great experience at Johnny Velo. I came in to get an old bike serviced and ended up leaving with a new bike from their 25% off Giant sale. They were really honest with me and I didn't get the impression that they were trying to unnecessarily upsell anything (they even gave me discounts on a helmet and water bottle cages). They also offer a lifetime service plan for $20 that I think is totally worth it. Additionally, they offer set price service plans even if you haven't putchased a bike from them. I've put about 100 miles on my bike since buying it and haven't had any issues with it. This is a great shop and I would definitely recommend it to anyone. read more

These guys are great. First off, the inventory is beautiful (those vintage style bikes!) and they cover all categories. Extremely helpful for a novice cycler like myself, because they explain everything! John chose a bike that he felt was a good fit for the type I was looking for--- and then the mechanic (also named John) got it ready so I could take a test ride--which was great. I didn't expect to actually walk out with a bike that day, but the level of customer service coupled with the awesome repair/service plans swayed my decision. Recently moved to the neighborhood and needed to drop off a couple of bikes for tuneups. The staff was fantastic! Super friendly, super knowledgeable, and the parts and service were extremely reasonably priced! Yesterday I joined them for their evening "slowcial" ride. The owner, John, led the ride and we biked through some beautiful neighborhoods at a conversational place and ended up at one of my favorite breweries. There is absolutely no pretentiousness with this crew! They also carry my 3 favorite bike brands: Bianchi, Giant, and Kona. The shop owner tried to tell me I didn't know what size shoe I wore, then told me they didn't make cycling shoes in half sizes, then pressure sold me a pair that is too big for me to get proper cleat positioning. Now, I've just wasted $120 on shoes that hurt me to use. Not my first bad experience here either. I don't know why I went back. read more

I've noticed that every time I have walked into the store, staff have gone above and beyond to help you find whatever you are looking for and are highly informative. Although there were shipping delays out of the shop's control (these are happening nationwide and effecting every shop), I found the communication from the staff overall excellent and with some flexibility was able to get a bike I'm absolutely thrilled to own. John really took the time to explain how to use my new bike properly, and made me feel very comfortable when trying the bike. It was a pressure-free buying experience, and when I bought the bike I knew I was getting one that was both high-quality and an excellent value.
