My hubby and I finally had the chance to try some Tex Mex from @johnnyrippas. We've been driving past this place for over a year and kept saying we would stop. They have a food truck that always seems to have a line of people so we figured it has to be good. Well, what do you know? It was delicious. We ordered: -beef birria tacos - came with consommé -fish tacos -chicken and cheese quesadilla -Mexican street corn salad -guacamole We agreed that the birria tacos were amazing and flavorful. However, the Mexican street corn salad was more a bed of spinach with some tomatoes, red onions, Cotija cheese and a little mix of black beans and corn. It really needed a lot more corn, but the Baja ranch dressing we chose for it was delicious. Overall, the food was delicious and we will definitely return to try their wings and ribs.

I've passed this place many times and today I decided to check this place out. I'm so glad I did the worst possible lane switch to get here and be able to explore this place. It's so cool. They're very nice, quick and a beautiful place. I assume this place to be jam packed on a warm sunny day. The food taste great. Got such great vibe and ambience. A lot of seating in front and the back. This is located in the huge parking lot right next to the dealership. I hope this business gain publicity it deserves. I'm so impressed by the this place.

Overrated, overpriced and greasy. Let me start by saying I did like the food and think it was decent, hence why I gave them 4 stars. But there is a lot of hype in reviews saying how amazing this place is and I just didn't have the same experience. I love tacos and everyone in the reviews raves about how good the birria tacos are so I had to try them. They were super greasy and so hot (temperature wise) that I had to wait 15 minutes just to eat them. I'm not one to complain about temperature of food unless it's ice cold but for a grab and go food truck place where someone is looking for a quick bite to get back on the road this was not it for me. The tacos had good flavor I just didn't think the quality was that great for how expensive they were. The $5 side of chips just tasted off to me and I think it's crazy that $18 tacos don't come with atleast a small side of chips. I spent $31 for tacos, a side of chips and a drink (plus tip) which is too expensive for my liking if I'm not at a sit down restaurant with all the amenities. I understand food costs are very high right now but it could also be the amount of people they had working there that is driving the costs. There was 3 employees in a small food truck in the middle of the week in November, i personally don't thinks that's necessary. All in all I would probably go back and try the burgers or something else they have and would tell others to go there but don't have high hopes for the birria tacos.

The place is inside the car dealerships parking lot. Had the burger and my friend the pulled pork sandwich.. the burger was delicious and huge and he loved the pulled pork. The waffles fries had a sweet seasoning that was also good .. next time i want yo try the birria tacos

Really unique great place. Convenient if you were to be stuck at the Toyota next to it. Plenty of benches set up outside with music playing. I got the chicken quesadilla based on other reviews and it was out of this world. Huge portion. So seasoned. Only downside is it turned my fingertips orange worth it Also got chips and salsa. The chips are seasoned so they're unique. The salsa Roja is very good but Smokey. I didn't see any other options of salsa. The pico served on the side of the quesadilla was good. Guacamole was good but nothing to write home about. It was starting to turn a little brown but not bad. Husband got the fajita salad and liked everything except the cheese (his fault)

Ever notice the folks who give out single and two-star reviews fall into two categories? The first are folks who had a negative experience - they're bitter little people who have no sense of flavor or taste. The second are serial yelpers who review pretty much anything out there - nail salons, weed shops, etc. and are nine times out of ten, gluten free eaters. The people who gave Johnny Rippas low marks fall directly into these categories. Don't listen to knobs like Aishah, Edward and Sara. The beef birria tacos here are fantastic. Crispy, cheesy, spicy served with a delightful cup of consommé. There is no way in earth these tacos are dry. If you're not dipping, you're not doing it right. Are they greasy? A little, but they're dipped and then fried on the flattop, the way God intended. That's how they get crispy, dummy. The three tacos and a side of chips and guacamole were a nice way to start the evening. If you're not eating there, you're shorting yourself. Get out of the house and go buy it yourself, grubhubers. Come out from the basement and rejoin the real world. A gentleman at a nearby picnic table had a solid looking burger and the whole place smelled wonderfully of smoked pork. The guys in the truck couldn't have been nicer. Will be back for sure.

Where else can you get tasty Birria in a food truck on a Toyota dealership parking lot? If you're passing by on Rte 130 in Dayton and happen to crave Tex-Mex tacos and sandwiches, drop by. The birria tacos are great tasting (complete with a broth soup with floating chopped tomato, onion & cilantro). The pulled pork burgers are equally tasty without too much oil. A bit salty perhaps but is there a Tex-Mex dish that isn't? The food cost about $12 across the board (June'22). Chicken fingers and fried waffle potato fries are just... ok and imho not worth the price tag. Plenty of tables and seating available and wide open parking space available in the lot where the truck sits on, so you can just enjoy the sun and breeze on a summer day like the day we went.

Birria tacos.....The avacado toast of 2022. ...And Johnny Rippas has them... This review is for the Birria Beef taco takeout only. First the good: Location and visuals are fantastic.Neat wood pile, picnic benches with umbrella shade, big ass smoker, bright red food truck in a large lot right on Route 130n...the place screams Authentic TexMex. Menu features pretty much all the favorites from Nashville fried chicken? to Baja fish tacos? Prices are decent and service was quick if a bit gruff. Now the bad: The Birria beef tacos was in a word....disappointing. At first glance the the tacos seemed rather greasy but with a nice toasted edge of melted cheese and a scattering of lettuce and chopped tomatoes on the side. The dipping sauce looked hearty with bits of floating finely chopped tomatoes with a nice fat sheen on the surface. First dip and bite produced a good crisp texture on the tortilla but the beef was rather tough, stringy with little in the way of seasoning and a salty but bland sauce. Am I missing something here? Second bite and the beef is not getting any bettter and then it hit me..... Where is the cilantro and even worse.. where are the Jalapenos? Not in the tacos, not in the Birria sauce and none in the small salad that they came with. Tex mex food without cilantro and Jalapenos is like making Tortilla soup without the Tortillas. This place is busy so maybe the good gentleman forgot but that still does not excuse the tough beef and salty, tasteless Birria sauce. Think I'll try something with pork or chicken next time. but I would love to see a Frito Pie with some spicy Texas chili on the menu...but don't forget the Jalapenos.

We had a beautiful mistake happen today when we ordered from Johnny Rippas for the first time and accidentally got someone else's Grubhub order (a chicken quesadilla) and then were promptly sent our correct order (fish tacos and chicken street tacos) as well. I say "beautiful mistake" because the chicken quesadilla was absolutely delicious! I tend to not order quesadillas out because they usually involve simple cheese and chicken, but not the one from Johnny Rippas. It was full of delicious marinated chicken, cheese, and grilled onions. I gjinj even the tortilla has seasoning on it. So much flavor. I'm bummed I forgot to take a picture (was too busy eating ). I DID manage to take some photos of our fish tacos and chicken street tacos, which were equally delicious. And since we accidentally got two orders for lunch today, these leftovers will be our dinner tonight! Like I said, a very tasty and beautiful mistake, and now I know a non-boring restaurant quesadilla exists!

DELICIOUS! Passed this place a few times and finally got to stop. The chicken chalupa is huge and super filling and packed with such great flavor. There is a a lot of good Mexican options in the area and this is by far the best!

Nice outdoor seating arrangement. Service was a bit slow because it got busy when we arrived but they're clearly a popular joint from take out to dine in and other ordering services. The BIRRIA was by far the best of what we ordered. The meat was juicy and saucey and the sauce only added to the depth of flavor. The chalupa was HUGE and filling. The waffle fries came with cheese on the size and while we couldn't put our finger on canned cheese or melted cheese roux we landed on something in the middle. The fries were extra salty and sprinkled with paprika (?) which the cheese kind of helped managed. Our only disappointment of our orders was the Nashville hot chicken which didn't taste like Nashville hot but rather a buffalo sauce glazed chicken.
