I love this location! It's so easy to get to right off of Route 1 and there's plenty of parking. I almost always come on a weeknight after work and even though this is right next to Trader Joe's there's always parking spots. I went with a friend on a Tuesday night and it was very busy. It took about 10 mins for us to get a table which wasn't too bad. When we were seated our waitress was super attentive and kept checking in on us. This location is always very clean and not super loud or rowdy. I always see families with kids so it's definitely family-friendly. We both ordered the triple dipper with Big Mouth Bites, Mozzarella sticks, and Chicken Crispers. Everything came out hot and fast. We also got chips and salsa which were delicious as usual. We got a box to take our leftovers home and I was surprised to see that our waitress gave us some extra fresh chips! Tonight reminded me why I stopped eating at this chain. Food was barely cooked and when I sent it back to get cooked more, their ovens were off. Bartender was kind of enough to remove from my bill. However, food was overall not good. Place was not clean. Took 30 min for them to clean the bar area of food and plates left by previous customer. Place needs better management skills. The 3 for me deal is pretty good (drink, starter, and entree for $16.99, $14.99, or $10.99 depending on which entree you want). We got the 6 oz sirloin and cajun shrimp pasta. The steak (medium rare) was very juicy and tasted really good, with a nice chewy texture. Loaded mashed potatoes were also good. However, the broccoli weirdly enough makes your mouth dry up. The pasta dish was rather skimpy on the shrimp in my opinion, not worth the price even with the 3 for me deal. The pasta itself had a glue-y texture. The sauce was creamy and there was a lot of it. The garlic toast tasted like buttery toast- sadly no garlic flavor. Overall, the taste is what you expect from that of any generic chain American restaurant. Then an employee at another Chilis across the country accosted a Black vet on Veterans Day accusing him of "stealing" his free food and the employee was only moved rather than fired so we boycotted for like 5 years after. I tried them again last year for pickup and the overall experience is like a complete 180. The restaurant was remodeled and is now open and airy. I don't feel like my father's ghost is hanging around, and service is much improved. Food is super fresh, the curbside is perfect, and UberEats is delivered hot and well packaged every time. I started with the margarita of the month and then my friend Jane told us she's leaving her husband. I took another sip of my margarita. This is what chilis is all about. Went there last night. Our server was amazing, thank you Ariana! The reason for only 1 star is because of the food and the kitchen staff. I needed to ask for my salad to be made a certain way, she repeated what I needed taken off, but the kitchen staff totally blew it. I then had to wait for a second salad, while my family ate without me. Ariana felt bad, but I kept reminding her it wasn't her fault! My husband's sirloin was grisly and undercooked as well. The fries are especially good. Hubby says the burgers are better than the pricey places he sometimes ends up at for business. (Restrooms are alway clean too!) A typical meal for us is a non-alcoholic drink, chips and salsa, a very large burger and fries. For 10.99. Most are hard-pressed to eat it all. I wouldn't even consider going to any of the nearby fast food places. It would cost more - way more - for food that's soggy and almost always cold. This is usually a good place. Tonight I was so disappointed My granddaughters and daughter shared the Sampler. Original Crusper chicken was dry. The sliders were dry today. But my CARIBBEAN SALAD with Shrimp and chicken was good and filling. The place is definitely dirty tonight. And I find that is not good since they are not utilizing all the seats they have. I absolutely loved February's drink, which was called The Grand Romance, it was made with Pomegranate, Tequila & Grand Marnier. March drink on the other hand was way too strong for my pallet, I guess I'm turning into a lightweight; it was called The Lucky Jameson, which consisted of Jameson, Tequila & Triple Sec, I didn't like it at all. As for the food, it's pretty basic, I'll usually get the southwest rolls or something from the 2 for $25 menu (me being frugal). The servers are usually pretty friendly (wish I could say the same thing about the hostess). The atmosphere is very casual and laid back. While everyone was social distancing North Brunswicks finest shows up and said someone called and said that Chillis wasn't social distancing so everyone have to wait in their car. Meanwhile the runner says they had to cut the online ordering off because it was too busy. Needless to say our pickup time was 7:05 and I got the food at 8:10 when I was waiting since 6:50. Finally when the runner brought the food out it was cold as the Anartic. Thank God I checked the food because I order spicy shrimp tacos and they decided to give me chicken tacos. Had to return and wait some more before they brought out the right food. Pics will show how disorganized they wereand the food showed it today. My suggestion to Chillis is to get more curbside pickup spots and I know that they are understaffed but having you wait almost 1 1/2hrs for pickup is unacceptable. I couldn't even cancel the order because no one would pickup the phone for me to cancel because I would have went to El Toro Loco because the parking lot was empty there. Went there today sat down got our drinks and three apps waited an hour and 10 minutes for someone to place our order for our food . One couple walked out after they found out we were waiting that long and another group was waiting as well. Went there with my wife today for 2pm lunch. The place was only half full. Was told the only places to sit were at high seat tables in the bar area or a half table. I wanted to be comfortable and pointed at empty booths which were only feet from other diners. Was told they weren't available. When I turned to walk out, no attempt was made to accommodate us. So you have a restaurant but can only use half of it? Can you afford to turn away diners who will order at least $50 worth of food and drinks? First off, I only went to this establishment to use some old gifts cards recently found!! I do not think I would have gone to this chain restaurant otherwise. The menu had a good amount of choices and according to the menu new options too. The staff was nice, but the appetizers did take a little bit of time to come out, not too long though. For an appetizer, the triple dipper was ordered. It was a choice of 3 appetizers. The picks chose were the southwestern egg rolls, crispy cheddar bites, and the big mouth bites. See below for thoughts on each. Southwestern Egg Rolls - The egg rolls were flour tortillas with smoked chicken, black beans, corn, jalapeno jack cheese, red peppers and spinach with an avocado-ranch sauce. They were just okay. I really did not get a taste of all those flavors together because of the size of the egg rolls. The avocado-ranch sauce was the highlight. Crispy Cheddar Bites - The cheddar bites were simple cheese curds. They were fried nicely and had plenty of cheese present. They were supposedly topped with Cajun spice, but I could not taste that. It was served with ancho-Chile ranch. It just tasted like ranch to me. Big Mouth Bites - There were 2 sliders with smoked bacon, American cheese, sautéed onions, and ranch on the side. The meat was overcooked and I do not remember tasting any bacon. The onions were cold as well. It was not the best tasting slider. For an entrée, I went with the mix and match fajitas and chose 3 proteins. I went with the grilled chicken, grilled steak, and carnitas. They came with bell peppers, caramelized onions, which were topped with chipotle-garlic butter and cilantro. There was also shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and tomatoes. They gave 3 flour tortillas. All of the meats lacked flavor. The cheese was also a little hard. I did enjoy the chipotle-garlic butter that was on the vegetables. For dessert, the skillet chocolate chip cookie was ordered. There was also a scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge on top. The cookie came out warm and very soft. The combination of the vanilla ice cream and that hot chocolate chip cookie was tough to beat. It was a pleasant finish to a mediocre meal. Will I go back?
