I realize that they are older and many ailments are a natural part of the aging process, however, they're still people and they're still suffering. It's just downright cruel not to listen to them (really listen, not just feign interest) and pass them onto someone else. Well, Dr. Goland didn't do that. He listened, asked my Dad to repeat answers just to make sure he understood correctly, and did some testing right there and then. Dr. Goland outlined a complete course of action and I'm hopeful that my Dad will get better in time.

If you make an appointment with him make sure you clear your day because its going to take extra time (in a good way). Expect to wait for him, he will probably run late because he is very thorough with EVERY patient. He will go step by step, organ by organ, and ask you what your symptoms are. This is not a 5 to 15 minute visit doctor that doesn't listen. You won't have to talk too much because he asks you very direct questions. On your part, you better know your symptoms so you can clearly communicate that to the doctor. He will analyze your symptoms and come up with a treatment plan. I felt like all my issues were addressed and dealt with. He reminds me of a small town doctor that takes time, he is definately not a clock watcher. The lady Maria that works with him is amazing as well. She will tell you in the beginning that there might be extra waiting for him so bring a book, jot down your symptoms, watch YouTube and be ready. It took me a month and a half to make an appointment to see this doctor and it was worth it. He's not the type of doctor that's going to baby you and coddle you, he gets right down to business. Be ready to answer questions definitively. Lastly, he is an educator. He empowers you with information so you're not thinking you have cancer or some crazy stuff you looked up on the internet. It feels good to have information and answers. This is right up my alley.

I took the day off of work to go stand around St. Jude to have blood work, x-ray and ECG. They don't make appointments for you. I walked into the place to do my x-ray and ECG. I gave the front desk my paperwork that was sent over to me from Dr. Bui's office. About 10 minutes later I was called to the front. The front desk told me, "I don't know if we can do your procedures today? The Dr forgot to sign the paperwork. I can give the Dr a call and see if they can fax it over? We ALWAYS have trouble with this one Dr. She sends her patients over here with paperwork never signed." I then took a seat and waited. I could hear the front desk leaving a message. I was then called up again. I was told, "Unfortunately, the Dr doesn't come in until 9am today." (It was 7:20am at the time). Some how the front desk was able to squeeze me in and I was off to get my x-ray and ECG. I recieved my results within a few hours and they found something wrong with my heart. I called the Dr the next day scared. I was told the Dr isn't in on Thursday or Fridays... of course she isn't. UGH! The front desk sent a message to Dr. Bui about what was found in the ECG. I received a call a few hours later asking me to make an appointment with my primary Dr so that my primary Dr can sign off on my surgery. ARE YOU FOR REAL?! This Dr couldn't just say, "No, I don't feel comfortable doing the tonsillectomy until the patient gets her health in order!" She ended up throwing my life onto my primary Dr to sign off on my surgery and that way her hands were clean if I did end up dying on her table. You have been warned! This Dr will send you to get pre-op procedures without signed paperwork and you have to wait around waiting for the Dr to sign it then fax it. She'll throw your life to your primary Dr instead of just saying she doesn't feel comfortable. I will NOT be returning to Dr. Bui to do my tonsillectomy when I get my health in order.

He got her in, assessed and performed a very successful surgery on her. We couldn't be happier with the results!! The facility was clean, efficient and organized, the doctor was patient and knowledgeable and the staff were understanding and on top of all aspects of her care. After visiting several ENTs, I would highly recommend Dr. Oliaei.

I mentioned feeling slightly lightheaded, and the doctor decided to run an EKG. After the first test, she came back concerned and repeated it. Then I was told I was essentially having a heart attack (NSTEMI) and needed to go to the ER immediately. Because of that, I rushed to St. Jude ER. They ran multiple tests, monitored me for hours, and ultimately found NOTHING wrong with my heart. About 4 hours into my ER visit, Brea Urgent Care called me and said she "read the EKG wrong." When I asked why she didn't contact me sooner, she said "she was busy and didn't have time to call me". That mistake cost me an entire day in the ER, extreme stress thinking I was having a heart attack, and a $9,000 hospital bill -- over $3,000 out of pocket after insurance. Since then, I have received zero follow-up, no apology, and no attempt to take responsibility. This is not a small error. Misreading an EKG and telling a patient they are having a heart attack is a serious failure. I am posting this in hopes that Brea Urgent Care addresses this situation and takes responsibility for the financial and emotional impact this caused. Until then, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else.
