You must call in to pay via credit/debit card and then there is no way to get a receipt unless you go back into the office to get it or pay $20 for them to send you one in the mail (isn't postage only about 80 cents nowadays?). The people who run the billing department work from home, so they can't even print receipts to send a picture of a receipt via email. Therefore, very difficult to get a receipt to get reimbursement via HSA or HRA. This is a very simple thing to get payment set up online.

The office called me a month ago saying they would no longer be "in network" because my Blue Shield PPO doesn't pay them enough (yet I pay Blue Shield $1626 a month for this PPO plan.) This office claims they can renegotiate their contract any time so beware they might drop you too. I had been one of their patients for almost 15 years. Just now they directed me to call them back if I get a new plan that they accept, as if I would ever trust them again to not cancel any other plan mid year. Greedy doctors and poor communication (they claimed the contract was renegotiated a year ago but they never notified me so I could have looked for a new plan.) Now the soonest available appointment with my new "in network" doctor is not until October 3.

When I was in the middle of a severe ear infection, I called several ENT offices, and the earliest appointments were weeks or even months away. Dr. Lee's office was able to see me the very next day. I've been back a handful of times for issues that came up along the way. As I've learned to take better care of my ear health and take it more seriously, Dr. Lee has helped me get on a long term maintenance plan. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Lee and his entire staff. Dr. Lee is informative, concise, and gets straight to the point. One thing I really appreciate is the setup in the exam rooms. There's a large TV that lets you see exactly what's going on inside your ears during the exam. Fair warning, it can be pretty gross if you have as much going on as I did! Every procedure he's performed and every treatment plan he's prescribed has worked. I trust Dr. Lee and his team 100%. Thank you for being so kind to me when I was in so much pain, and most of all, thank you for being excellent at what you do. Rooms are on the smaller side, but are immaculate and sterile. I've seen some reviews claiming that "he's just in it for the money." Honestly, if you're frustrated about costs, that frustration should be directed at the insurance system. Insurance companies make it incredibly difficult for physicians to get fairly reimbursed for the care they provide. The system doctors have to work within is the problem, not Dr. Lee. For anyone wondering about insurance, Dr. Lee accepts multiple plans. I have Anthem Blue Shield, and my copay is $50.

I realize that they are older and many ailments are a natural part of the aging process, however, they're still people and they're still suffering. It's just downright cruel not to listen to them (really listen, not just feign interest) and pass them onto someone else. Well, Dr. Goland didn't do that. He listened, asked my Dad to repeat answers just to make sure he understood correctly, and did some testing right there and then. Dr. Goland outlined a complete course of action and I'm hopeful that my Dad will get better in time.

If you make an appointment with him make sure you clear your day because its going to take extra time (in a good way). Expect to wait for him, he will probably run late because he is very thorough with EVERY patient. He will go step by step, organ by organ, and ask you what your symptoms are. This is not a 5 to 15 minute visit doctor that doesn't listen. You won't have to talk too much because he asks you very direct questions. On your part, you better know your symptoms so you can clearly communicate that to the doctor. He will analyze your symptoms and come up with a treatment plan. I felt like all my issues were addressed and dealt with. He reminds me of a small town doctor that takes time, he is definately not a clock watcher. The lady Maria that works with him is amazing as well. She will tell you in the beginning that there might be extra waiting for him so bring a book, jot down your symptoms, watch YouTube and be ready. It took me a month and a half to make an appointment to see this doctor and it was worth it. He's not the type of doctor that's going to baby you and coddle you, he gets right down to business. Be ready to answer questions definitively. Lastly, he is an educator. He empowers you with information so you're not thinking you have cancer or some crazy stuff you looked up on the internet. It feels good to have information and answers. This is right up my alley.

I took the day off of work to go stand around St. Jude to have blood work, x-ray and ECG. They don't make appointments for you. I walked into the place to do my x-ray and ECG. I gave the front desk my paperwork that was sent over to me from Dr. Bui's office. About 10 minutes later I was called to the front. The front desk told me, "I don't know if we can do your procedures today? The Dr forgot to sign the paperwork. I can give the Dr a call and see if they can fax it over? We ALWAYS have trouble with this one Dr. She sends her patients over here with paperwork never signed." I then took a seat and waited. I could hear the front desk leaving a message. I was then called up again. I was told, "Unfortunately, the Dr doesn't come in until 9am today." (It was 7:20am at the time). Some how the front desk was able to squeeze me in and I was off to get my x-ray and ECG. I recieved my results within a few hours and they found something wrong with my heart. I called the Dr the next day scared. I was told the Dr isn't in on Thursday or Fridays... of course she isn't. UGH! The front desk sent a message to Dr. Bui about what was found in the ECG. I received a call a few hours later asking me to make an appointment with my primary Dr so that my primary Dr can sign off on my surgery. ARE YOU FOR REAL?! This Dr couldn't just say, "No, I don't feel comfortable doing the tonsillectomy until the patient gets her health in order!" She ended up throwing my life onto my primary Dr to sign off on my surgery and that way her hands were clean if I did end up dying on her table. You have been warned! This Dr will send you to get pre-op procedures without signed paperwork and you have to wait around waiting for the Dr to sign it then fax it. She'll throw your life to your primary Dr instead of just saying she doesn't feel comfortable. I will NOT be returning to Dr. Bui to do my tonsillectomy when I get my health in order.
