So when we purchased a single family, he was our guy. He did a full and half bath reno, had subcontractors replace the roof and heating system with hot water tank built in. His hardwood floor guys are great, his painter as well. The kitchen was pretty much done but needed some work around the stove, he took out cabinets and added a vent hood. And then all the little things, like installing sconces, replacing doors and storm doors and ceiling fans. He replaced all outlets and most light switches. There's not much he hasn't done here and we trust him explicitly with electrical and plumbing. Yes, it takes a while sometimes. Our assumption is he has to have another job starting as he gets near the end of ours and works us in to finish it up. It's been worth it and we value him most nearly as a family member.

Then, he refuses to answer your calls or emails. The limited work performed was poor. Posts installed were not straight, handrail caps were spliced together with leftover wood scraps, new glass doors were improperly hung. If you like getting screwed then disregard.

The guys they sent to do the demo work were unqualified and made a mess of my yard and the drip edge of my roof issue mangled in many places (Chris said it would be straightened then just hid it behind the gutters). Luckily the roofing crew finished the work they started, but it still didn't come out great. I've got multiple gaps that have formed around the fascia boards and gutters that are all messed up now, with water getting behind them in multiple places. There are wasps currently building nests in the gaps they left. I've called, texted and sent messages to Chris (the owner) through Yelp and he hasn't responded once and apparently doesn't stand behind his work. They also found a roof issue while they were doing the fascia boards that required them to remove a section of the roof and repair it, and while I haven't noticed any issues with it yet I'm nervous about the quality of it after seeing how the fascia boards turned out. They were supposed to replace the soffit reveal where they replaced the roof but never did, and I found a piece where they were supposed to install pvc fascia material is actually just a piece of tin cut to that shape. The soffit reveals all around the house are also uneven in a lot of places. I ended up having to buy a roofing magnet to pick up the hundreds of nails they left behind in my yard. I tried to give Chris the opportunity to make this right, but he won't answer or return any of my calls or messages. I would not recommend using Oakwood Roofing.

Overall, for me, Bryson Builders was a great decision, because Peter, the contractor, has experience with the insurance claim process; he is not "salesy" and listened to my concerns/questions; and he had a thorough estimate that clearly outlined all the work that would be completed. Having never been through a renovation, the repair process went beyond my expectations. Given that my roommate and I were still living in my home through the process, it was not as bad as I thought it would be. The Bryson Builders team members were professional and treated my home well. For the most part, the work area was cleaned on a daily basis and I can see progress as time passed. Due to my schedule, I appreciated the flexibility in being able to communicate with Peter via phone or email. I received updates from Peter frequently allowing me to be mentally prepared and/or to prepare my home as necessary. The finished product is so amazing, from the quality paint job throughout the home, the installation of the countertops, electrical work, and the bathroom tiling to the roof replacement.
