He asks what I want, I say picture windows. He sends me a picture of double hang and says he recommends them. Don't need them. Then he just TEXTS me a price range. Red flag. Where's your quote with the type of door being used? Also, the number is high. I ask for the SKU to look it up on my own. He sends me a generic link to an affiliate landing page for DOUBLE HUNG DOORS. Ok, so here's where you have to use your best judgement. These guys have great ratings on multiple pages, so they obviously do excellent installs. But that doesn't mean they aren't ripping people off, because you can get similar work done for MUCH cheaper. That's where I got him, bc he wasn't willing to disclose where his range was coming from and then immediately tried to pass me off to Renweal by Anderson, which is widely known as THE biggest price-hike in the game. The safe bet with them is whatever they quote you initially is about double what it should actually cost. So it makes sense the owner thought it's a reasonable peer in the industry. Then he weirdly started text-harassing me when I passed on his offer. Piss off.

During the first winter, we couldn't keep the house warm enough. Cold air was seeping into every room. Our heating cost was very high. So we decided to replace the windows before the next winter. A friend recommended AAA Royal Window. I called and spoke to John Boyd. He came to our home, made an evaluation and recommended that all windows be replaced and insulated. I was concerned about losing the wood tone windows to white vinyl clad windows, but John recommended double pane, tilt-in windows with wood tone application. They looked just like the real wood tone windows that we were replacing. He said they could do the entire job in one day. It sounded impossible, but we agreed and signed the contract. The AAA Royal crew arrived on the scheduled day at 7:00 a.m. They removed all of the old windows and storm windows, insulated the frames and installed the new windows. They removed all of the old windows and packaging and cleaned up both inside and outside. At the end of the day, you wouldn't even know that they had been here. I was so impressed. But it got better. During the next winter, and every winter since, our heating costs have dropped significantly. Every room stays warm. No more cold air creeping in. I have been so pleased. This year, five years after the windows were installed, my son broke the hardware on one of the tilt in windows. I called John Boyd and he offered to mail me the replacement parts and walk me through the simple repair. I was concerned that I would mess it up, so John came to our home in Medford and did the five minute repair job himself. It doesn't get much better than that. (Proposal…read more#16872151) OCI360 Exteriors sent out someone to look at the project (June 7, 2024) and spent a few hours measuring and talking about procedure and policies etc. He gave me a quote within a few hours and even offered to lower it if we would pay cash. He called his boss while we were sitting there, who offered an even better price if we would let them put a sign up and pressure us to agree to terms on the spot, which I said I would not do without my spouse. They sent the proposal (June 18, 2024) and we agreed to terms that day or the next and I signed the contract. They sent an invoice for the first third of the work (June 28, 2024, I didn't see this the first time, and requested that they resent it on July 1, 2024). They sent the project manager out to look at the job (On or about July 3, 2024) and look at logistics. He told me that once the deposit was paid they will file a permit the same day with our town. I texted them immediately after the deposit was sent (July 8, 2024) and my phone rang within 10 seconds. They said they mismeasured the job (two weeks earlier) and it would require $5500 more for them to do the job. This was a 68% increase over the agreed upon (signed contract) price. They asked me how much my other offers were for and I said I wouldn't tell them that and that I expected the company to hold up their end of our contract. I do not think they are losing money at all. After two weeks since I paid and they have still not filed a permit or delivered a dumpster as promised. The project manager texted me today to say that his office would start processing the return of my deposit as they would not do the job unless we agreed to pay 68% more than the quoted, signed upon price. If this review is still posted here, then this matter has not been resolved, and my money has still not been refunded.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Chris on this very important investment. My windows were 25-year-old vinyl double-pane and double-hung. They were absolutely horrible and I had to put up thin plastic films over the windows to prevent cold draft coming in. I set out on a journey to get my 17 windows replaced. I have gotten quotes from 10 different contractors and the quote from Window Master was the best by far. I had quotes from $500-$1200 per window. Due to the # of windows I was installing, Chris quoted $330 per window installed. I did all the research on my own and know what kind of windows are good and I know I wanted something with U-factor of less than 0.3. I was intrigued by Chris' CraigsList posting for triple-pane windows offering much better energy efficiency at a reasonable price; his windows has a U-Factor of 0.21. They are Alside Mezzo triple-pane double-hung windows. Communication with Chris was a breeze. I called on Monday and asked him to come out and give me a quote. He said he'll on Friday to schedule a quote. He called on Friday and scheduled me on Sunday (I wasn't available on Saturday). Chris came on a cold Sunday morning. He brought the demo window and briefly went over the window features. He was knowledgeable, fair, polite, courteous, and did not try any aggressive sales tactics. I had a few concerns about my current windows and he answered them. When I asked whether or not I should replace my only 2-year-old-window, he suggested against replacing it because it's in good working order, despite the fact that window is inferior to his triple-pane offerings. He measured the windows and then left for his other appointments. At the end of the week (this was 2 weeks before Christmas), I reached out to Chris and informed him I would like to proceed to get the windows with his company. He sent out a contract a day later. I printed it out, signed and sent it back to him via Email. Due to the amount of windows I was replacing, Chris offered 2-tempered glass windows and 3 bottom-frosted windows free of charge. Other companies wanted $400 just for those features. About 2-3 weeks later, I reached out to Chris to get an update on the windows. He informed me it'll take 1-2 extra weeks for the windows to be delivered from the manufacture. One week later on a Sunday, Chris texted me to let me know the windows have finally all arrived and whether I was available the next day to get them installed. I was out of town and will be back on Sunday (7 days later). He said he'll reach out later in the week to schedule something to get the windows installed. On Friday, he reached out again and we scheduled the upcoming Monday (MLK day) for the installation. Monday morning at 8AM, his 2-man crew finally arrived with a truck full of windows. The two men did a great job removing my old windows and installing the new windows. They also insulated window pockets as needed. Once they were done, they caulked the windows trims. The windows were just the right size so their fit was snug and air tight. Chris did a great job measuring the window sizes and his crew did an excellent job installing the windows. They replaced all 17 windows in 1 day and were done by 6PM. I was so happy with their work, I tipped each person $20. My house used to feel "chilling" cold even when the heat was set at 72.
