I had 4, old metal basement windows replaced. They didn't saw out the metal frames, like the job is…read moreusually approached; they hacked them out with hammers and chisels, making a "mini-mountain range" of a mess of all the cement sills. The windows were so poorly installed, that more outside air came in than with the old ones. There were gaps between the windows and the foundation of more than 4 inches! They attempted to correct all of this with Great Stuff spray foam---everywhere! The also couldn't even make a wooden frame w/actual 90 degree corners. Each of the 4 windows looked like it was done by a different person. No two were left in the same "finished" condition. On one, no attempt at all was made to finish it. They ordered the wrong window for the dryer vent. They wanted to drill a hole in my foundation instead! (You do NOT do it that way, ever!) Then, they went hunting for a place for the vent, using a 1,25" bit, and drilling straight through the foundation sill. Luckily, I caught them after their first failed attempt. I had the correct-sized dowel to fill the hole, they did not---more Great Stuff? They didn't even have an 1/8" plumber's bit to "hunt" with. I had to give that them that, too! Just measuring would have been a good idea, for starters. They didn't protect anything; left everything in my entire basement wood-shop covered in cement dust---days and days of work to clean it all. In the end, I paid someone $700 (he gave me a big break---out of pity) to fix them as much as possible. He had to do cement work, carpentry, and finish carpentry. At least now, no outside air comes in. Mr. Serpa will talk really quickly and confidently to try to steamroll you into thinking his resolution is valid, when it's quite definitely not. I dread to think of things they may have done had I not been home and watching them, because even that didn't help me! He DID offer, immediately, to send someone to "fix" it. The people who already proved they didn't know how to do it correctly in the first place, are NOT the people who should be allowed to "fix" it, right? I declined. He feels he did nothing wrong. He even brought his town building inspector "pal" to see them after I complained. They came unannounced onto to my property w/o permission. He knew they looked nice from outside, and that was all he planned for the inspector to see. He doesn't realize that the HOMEOWNER oversees a second opinion, not the contractor. The inspector compromised his position by doing it, making anything he said completely invalid. Have had lots of big projects done in the last year. This was the last and smallest of them. Turned out to be the only one that I chose the wrong person to do. BTW, I used to work w/a home improvement Master Builder. I wish I could include pics of that person's bsmt window replacement jobs alongside mine.

We're so glad we found Gino Benotti and we've used him for our home improvements over the past…read moreyears and he delivers every time. He installed a new fiberglass front door for us and it was done perfectly which was a big upgrade for our house as we had an older steel door for years. He then replaced our front facing dining room window with three Harvey windows that just looks perfect for your house. He and his crew then replaced our peeling and cracking side trim boards for each side of our house with PVC trim and those pieces go up about 25 feet. A few years later, we asked for quote to replace our aging wooden windows from 1994 and he again replaced them all with new Harvey windows which look great. He worked closely with us to ensure we got what we were looking for and he really delivered. Finally, we asked Gino to replace our aging and flaking Masonite front siding on our split ranch. He suggested using Everlast which is thick and you can re-paint down the road if you choose to. Finally, Gino also replaced a large window on our house which is another big upgrade for us and installed it like a pro so we gained energy efficiency. Gino is dependable and does things right, he communicates very well to the homeowner and we can't recommend him enough to our friends and neighbors.

Not once did I speak to their team in a disrespectful manner. Was I firm and direct? Absolutely. Not once was I inappropriate, unlike their owner. If any prospective clients see this and would like to ask me about my experience directly, I'm happy to have a conversation. I have no further interest in communicating with a company that continues to not truthfully own up to their faults in this. I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by my experience with Driveways by HEAP and their owner, Robert. From the start, communication with this company was extremely poor. It took months for them to respond to our request for a quote for options for our driveway and a small asphalt patch in our backyard. When they recommended sealcoating and they finally scheduled the work, they only completed part of the job -- forgetting the backyard patch we had clearly discussed and agreed upon. When we reached out to address the incomplete work, we were initially told they'd return within days. Weeks passed with vague updates, broken promises of return dates, and no follow-through. We asked them not to cash our check until the job was done -- but they did anyway, before completing the work. As soon as we realized the check had been cashed, and after my husband had multiple failed attempts to get ahold of Jamie, I stepped in to follow up - which was apparently unacceptable to do on a Sunday morning. She blocked my number and bizarrely informed my husband via email that she would only be communicating with him going forward -- an unprofessional and move that made me question if we were still in the 1950s. Things escalated with misogynistic language when I called the company directly and and asked to speak to Robert, the owner. I have never been spoken to by a service provider the way he spoke to me. He was verbally abusive, condescending, and used language that bordered on threatening. He insulted me personally and dismissed my entirely reasonable request to complete a job that had been paid for -- going so far as to accuse me of being part of the "instant gratification generation" and "making a mountain out of a molehill" as if expecting a service to be completed within a month is unreasonable. This business not only failed to complete the work in a timely or professional manner, but their treatment of me as a customer -- especially as a woman -- was hostile and deeply inappropriate. No one should be spoken to or treated this way.

Fiberglass gutters are maintenance free, none of the oiling that the wood gutters should have to be properly maintained. The Historic Society in Arlington approves these fiberglass gutters in place of wood! The team had to come out to our house and measure and shape an arch for one of our corners, turned out perfect. The employees at The Fiberglass Gutter Company are very friendly and professional. They dealt with less than ideal conditions with all the bumblebee nests they encountered while pulling off our old gutters. They arrived as scheduled, cleaned up after themselves and worked expected hours. We knew in advance there may be a change order needed do to the poor conditions of some areas of our exterior.
