Edit: I would like to address that it is bold of the company to attempt to fact check in their response of my review, given we have documentation of all communication and timeline. Not once did I speak to their team in a disrespectful manner. Was I firm and direct? Absolutely. Not once was I inappropriate, unlike their owner. If any prospective clients see this and would like to ask me about my experience directly, I'm happy to have a conversation. I have no further interest in communicating with a company that continues to not truthfully own up to their faults in this. I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by my experience with Driveways by HEAP and their owner, Robert. From the start, communication with this company was extremely poor. It took months for them to respond to our request for a quote for options for our driveway and a small asphalt patch in our backyard. When they recommended sealcoating and they finally scheduled the work, they only completed part of the job -- forgetting the backyard patch we had clearly discussed and agreed upon. When we reached out to address the incomplete work, we were initially told they'd return within days. Weeks passed with vague updates, broken promises of return dates, and no follow-through. We asked them not to cash our check until the job was done -- but they did anyway, before completing the work. As soon as we realized the check had been cashed, and after my husband had multiple failed attempts to get ahold of Jamie, I stepped in to follow up - which was apparently unacceptable to do on a Sunday morning. She blocked my number and bizarrely informed my husband via email that she would only be communicating with him going forward -- an unprofessional and move that made me question if we were still in the 1950s. Things escalated with misogynistic language when I called the company directly and and asked to speak to Robert, the owner. I have never been spoken to by a service provider the way he spoke to me. He was verbally abusive, condescending, and used language that bordered on threatening. He insulted me personally and dismissed my entirely reasonable request to complete a job that had been paid for -- going so far as to accuse me of being part of the "instant gratification generation" and "making a mountain out of a molehill" as if expecting a service to be completed within a month is unreasonable. This business not only failed to complete the work in a timely or professional manner, but their treatment of me as a customer -- especially as a woman -- was hostile and deeply inappropriate. I just had my circular driveway done by Heap. The crew arrive at 7:00 and finished by 11:00. They were like a well oiled machine. The owner himself. Laid the asphalt and rolled it to a beautiful finish. I am very pleased with the results. read more

I got a couple of quotes, although they were not the cheapest I went with them. The bottom of my driveway would flood when it rained and I wanted to rectify this issue. They described pulling up the old driveway and laying the new and having it drain to the side. They did not remove the old driveway, but went on top of the old drive way. Weeds popped through the tar in a few months at the top of the driveway. Although it no longer floods, the water still collects on the bottom. I was told they would come and fix it, but they never did. I would not recommend them as they do not stand behind their work. read more

Not only did they come in with the best price they also do FANTASTIC work. From initial consultation with Genevieve to day of job. They were and currently are still horrible. I had them do my driveway 2 years ago (2022) and within 3 months there were problems. Even though it was under warranty, they wouldn't return my phone calls and would occasionally return an e-mail saying they'd come look at it and never come out. They came out in June of 2022 after I filed a complaint with the BBB, Heap looked at the issues and said we'll be back out next week. Never came back. I filed a complaint with the AG and in April of 2024 Heap sent an e-mail to the AG saying they'd fix it and Bob came to my house and told me that they see what the problems are and "this is what we're willing to fix for free" and will be back on July 1st. Never came back and haven't heard from them. So, as of July 16th 2024 I have refiled the same complaint with the AG and see what comes of it. Driveways by "C"Heap, don't use them. read more

Initially - perfect. Upon finding a dip in the driveway (puddling, etc) they claimed they could come by and re-heat/roll it to level it out (May 2019). 8 unanswered calls later - i have 2 voicemails and one review response claiming they would schedule it ASAP (+1 gave a date with a no-show) and i'm still ghosted. Contacted lawyer to get my money back - we'll see how that goes. Just unprofessional - check the reviews. it's consistent. if it doesn't go well, they ignore you until you quit. We had our driveway done last fall . We have a little pitch that goes towards our garage door to the house and we have a camper that sits in our driveway that needed to be level. They excavated a tree for me before laying the driveway. They asked if I wanted them to level the ground and I said yes and they didn't. They also never rerolled out the pockets in the driveway that were left, that they said they would. I waited additional time to park on my driveway than what was recommended and it looks awful with marks all over it anyways. read more

This review is "Solely" written for the lack of professionalism and communication of this company and not the quality of their work. I was not able to see the quality of their work because they NEVER showed up to do the job. In late June i contacted Driveways by heap, Inc and requested a quote for my driveway to be paved. On Monday June 29, 2020, a female came to my residence and left me a written quote for the work. (the price was reasonable) I called and confirmed that i wanted to go forward. When I called they scheduled me for an appointment for Friday, August 14, 2020. On Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 2:42PM, i received a text message from a female named Jamie, stating they would need to cancel my driveway work due to rainy days and hot weather. She stated Genevieve and her would go over the schedule and get a new date. I replied, "Thank you" I have called Driveways by heap numerous times at (781-447-4336) left numerous voicemail messages and never received a call back. On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, i texted Jamie at the same cell phone number she texted me to cancelled and still to this day never received a reply. DO NOT use this company!!!! We had our old driveway dug up and a new one installed in April of 2018 by Driveways by Heap with a guarantee that any needed repairs would be made after the asphalt settled for a year.. There are numerous repairs that need to be done, including sinkholes, sizable chunks coming up where the driveway meets the road and a large area that actually erupted when it became hot out. Jamie - the manager - has made several promises since April of this year to make these repairs, but never does so. We have tried to reach them many times to no avail. They do not return calls. Read the complaints and reviews on the Better Business Bureau's site before choosing Driveways By Heap. I wish I had instead of just going by a word of mouth recommendation from a friend's family member. The price is better than the competition but that's all that's better. It took over 2 months of me having to call and text to get someone back to fix a hole that formed on the sidewalk next to my driveway in front of my neighbors' bushes, an area that was not supposed to have been touched and isn't even part of my driveway. The hole was big enough to be a tripping hazard for the kids and dogs that use the sidewalk(it was big enough that a tennis ball fit securely enough in it to not roll away). The asphalt around it was also soft which my neighbor was concerned about it caving in when one of her kids was walking/biking/rollerblading near it. When Genevieve came out to give us a quote in July, one of the things I said we wanted was a water berm at the top of the driveway as water tends to pool on the street and on the top of the driveway when it rains. It has caused potholes on the edge of our driveway in the past and I was hoping a small berm would help. This was never done even though it is indicated on our estimate. There are other issues with the driveway - the non-existent water berm at the end of it, loose gravel in several spots that will eventually turn into potholes, the side berm that is more narrow in one area that looks like it will end up crumbling. These issues were relayed several times via text and phone to Jamie in the office. Each time I was assured that she would make sure that Bob knew the hole was an especially big concern and that we were "on the repair list". I had also told Jamie that I needed to have them fix things at a time in the morning as school pick up and after school activities have me out of the house most days by 2pm. I finally got a repair date of 10/7/20 only to be canceled at 5pm on 10/5/20 with assurances that I would be rescheduled for the next week. I again was not contacted to reschedule despite sending a text and leaving a voice mail. Out of sheer frustration, I filed a complaint with the BBB. I was texted by Jamie the next day to say they would be out to fix things the next week. The day they were supposed to come was rainy and we were rescheduled for Friday. When I arrived home the night of the canceled appointment date, I was told by my daughter that someone had been out when I wasn't home. Nobody was available to speak to whoever it was as I was not home and my husband was working and they were not expected til Friday. The hole had finally been fixed but nothing else. After a voice mail and several texts the next day to Jamie asking exactly what was done to fix it and when were they coming back to fix the rest, I was told that per Genevieve, the GM, the home was fixed "per industry standards" and wouldn't happen again. Also they were "choosing not to fix the tire marks" that will fade over time. Not once did I mention the superficial tire marks, just the spots on the driveway where loose gravel comes up every time it's touched/walked in/driven on. I am not in "the industry" so I have no idea what exactly was done to fix the sidewalk. It looks like a bunch of stone dust was thrown in and around it and tamped down.. Seeing as their MO seems to be to ignore their customers, I have not had any response after I texted Jamie that tire marks were not the problem. So much for their 2 year guarantee against workmanship that's listed on the estimate. Save yourself aggravation and go elsewhere. read more

In the market for a new driveway this spring? From my experience DO NOT use Driveways by HEAP. They did my driveway middle of November, 2019. They did it too high so now my double vinyl gate doesn't open. They said they'd be back a week or so after that call and still nothing. Now they don't return my calls. Even to say they'll be here in the spring when the season starts. Of course I paid in full thinking in good faith they were going to come back. Dumb me. Lesson learned. I got an estimate 5/2020 to install a new driveway. They canceled my appointment several times until I never heard from them again. After wasting months waiting on them. All I ended up with is big painted red markers in front of my driveway and house. When I finally reached someone and asked when/if I was getting driveway, their response to me was "and you want the same price we quoted last year?" They steadfastly reassured me it would get done and they frequently pave into mid December. Well, they never rescheduled, they never reached out to tell me next season and they have failed to return any of my calls. We contracted with driveways by heap in October 2015. They wrote up the estimate and gave us a date when the work would be done. I got a phone call from their general manager on the day of installation telling me they cracked the floor of my garage. They said they would be calling in a cement expert to repair the floor within a few weeks. I've placed well over 10 phone calls left messages and emails without any response. It's now 5 months later and my garage floor is still a huge mess. Don't hire this company!!! So they finally made good on their promise to repair the garage floor. Hallelujah read more

I can't say enough about the great work that "Driveways By Heap" did replacing my 30 year old asphalt driveway this week. Genevieve (General Manager) gave us a fair quote for the basic driveway job, and a couple of extras we needed to have done. They came as promised over a 2 day period. On day 1 they removed the old asphalt, tree roots, etc., and built up and compressed the area to be re-paved with fill.. On day 2 (after waiting a few days for the fill to settle), the new asphalt was put in place. Bob Heap (the owner) was on site himself working both days. We are having several problems with the driveway they installed last October. Have been trying to get this resolved since May. I have sent them pictures of the problems , at their request, now they won't even return our phone calls. This work came with a 3 year warranty that in my opinion, they are not honoring. On May 22nd, 2017 the Heap people installed a driveway but were in such a hurry (after they received payment) that they left 1/2 inch high ridges the length of the driveway and many depressions resulting in puddling. They left debris scattered around and left the hose they used spread out in the back yard, uncoiled as they found it. I tried to get them to come repair the problems but hey wouldn't return calls. It took a false start and then until December when someone finally came to address the problem but even then it wasn't done completely. I have tried again this year to get the puddling fixed but they won't return my calls. Very unprofessional work and people. read more

I highly recommend this company! We recently had our driveway done in Whitman and I literally looked up companies in the yellow pages, not having any previous recommendations. Genevieve, came out that very day, and gave me a reasonable quote and started the process. What I loved the most, was each and every time I called after that, even if I had to leave a voicemail, she got back to me that very day, outstanding customer service!! After we decided how to proceed we were given the installation date we requested. On the day of installation the owner, Bob showed up precisely when they said they would, explained everything and answered my questions then got right to work with his crew. In April 2017 I was looking to expand my driveway. I placed several calls and emails - no response. Since I was have work done at the house over the summer I was ok since I did not want the job until after Labor Day anyway. So I called and they came out gave me a quote in September. I tried to schedule and no response. Late October they schedule and cut out the old driveway. In the process they did half ass job and left a complete mess. Weeks went by and no calls or text returned. Then I stated I was going to have this completed by someone else. Now I get a response . They finish the cut out and pave the driveway late November. The job was never finished, but they would return to finish in the Spring 2018. Well that came and went. I have reached out several times without any response. In addition my topcoat is tearing up. I informed them of all the issues that I am having and they said they be out - have not heard since. Left a few more messages no response. I paid them in full promptly back in November.
