I can't say enough wonderful things about Precision Door & Window! In 2002, I had 13 double-hung windows replaced in my previous home in Stoughton. I sold the house in 2023 and still, the windows were in great condition. So, after downsizing to a fixer-upper, I naturally called Precision. I did get other quotes but again, went with Precision. This time it was 8 double-hung windows plus a huge 4 lite bow window. I can't say how pleased I am with the meticulous work Chris and his team did. The first windows delivered did not have the correct grid and Tony immediately ordered replacements to swap out. This was done in a timely manner and I was over the moon happy. The bow window installation looked difficult but these experienced guys got it done and it's absolutely beautiful! Some minor details had to be addressed regarding the bow window. Chris came out again and finished the inside with impeccable woodworking skills. He then showed me a gap on the outside of the house where the old window projected a bit more and said they'd come back to fill that and finish it off. 08/30/24 - Chris was back with help - the window gap was filled in and it looked as if it was always there. Perfection! He also replaced a screen that arrived with a small tear. Inside and out, the windows are perfect! The crew was friendly and respectful of my home. They left my property neat and clean. This company had a very competitive price, but you get what you pay for as they say. In this case, I got less than what I eventually paid for just to end a cycle of them returning and doing horrible work. After several different foremen and crews, the new exterior doors (4) have needed to been re-hung and there are details throughout the installation that still bug me today. I write this because I wish I had known before engaging with these guys what I was in for... 16 week lead time on the doors made it all the more painful. In hindsight, I should have bought the doors directly and had someone else do the installation. It will cost me another couple thousand to correct the damage they have done, and one of the doors still isn't closing properly. read more

We hired Precision Door and Window because of positive reviews & because they have been in business for 60 yrs. A neighbor has since said he wished he knew we were hiring Precision- he would've steered us in a different direction. Another spoke about their shoddy work & the mess they made in her home. Had they posted reviews, we would have paid attention. I've never written a negative review. Have had many contractors here over the years. Everyone makes mistakes & missteps, right? Well, we absolutely do not recommend this company for doors, siding or gutters- unless you have a job that allows for loads of random time off to deal with multiple phone calls, re-visits & no shows, & unless you don't really value your home. During this ordeal with Precision, we learned of their reluctance to pull a building permit for our project. We wrongly assumed they would take care of whatever they should do, & we were unaware that the permit needed to be posted on our property. Eventually, & after much discussion, they did pull a permit. It has taken months of patience & then frustration to finally have 4 new doors that work properly. All 4 doors were hung ridiculously. 2 doors had gaps so long & wide that we could clearly see the outside from inside our home. 2 doors scraped the flooring; 1 scraped so badly it took the finish off the floor & the other screeched so much that eventually the rubber runner on the underside started to come off. We were patiently calling for several months, & later, well, not so patiently. They came to repair their doors, yet had to return countless times to get things right. Very disruptive to our work schedules. The last visit took hours & left a royal mess with sawdust in/on furniture, appliances, walls, drapes, etc. That was last week & we're still cleaning. They ordered & affixed new shutters which were too small for the windows. Once we saw this, they did order proper fitting shutters. However, the screws for the proper shutters had to go into different holes in the siding. This left approx 84 holes in the siding from where the wrong shutters were screwed in. They tried to assure us that since the holes were behind the shutters, it was ok to leave the holes as-is. After months of discussion, including our concerns about infestation, moisture & mold, they did plug the holes with some kind of goop, with no guarantee that the goop will hold. As they removed & replaced the vinyl siding, each evening we picked lots of nails off the driveway. We've since picked up hundreds more & shards of debris on the property. We're still finding them. It's a concern with mowing. As requested, prior to replacing the siding, they removed an old exterior AC unit from the 2nd level. They sawed off the AC pipe at the exterior end & left the remainder of the pipe extending into our home. We don't know why they didn't just remove the pipe. When asked what they did to seal off the pipe from insects, weather & mold, they told us they covered the pipe with wood, house wrap & the new siding. We suspected they were not truthful. So, days later, we asked again. This time they mentioned nothing about wood. Instead, they said they blew hardening foam inside the pipe to seal it. Huh- we then investigated on our own. Well, they did not cover the pipe's end with wood, or even house wrap. They did not fill the pipe with anything. They simply covered it with vinyl siding. We have photos from inside our home, of the sun shining through the bare siding and into the pipe. Months later, Precision sent someone to fill the remaining piece of pipe with silicone & cover the area with house wrap and again with siding. One new downspout is still not draining properly, despite their attempts to fix it. Dealing with Precision Door and Window, we were too slow in learning not remain hopeful, not to trust them. We expect them to reply to this public review with apologies & to say our experience is very, very unusual, that they stand by their work & will do whatever it takes to make things right. I had Windows and a slider installed at the end of July 2016. The installers where great and courteous. The slider however has a defect in it which they think they can just patch up with screws & draft protectors making it look hideous. I paid good money for it & want it replaced. It's September 20th now & still no word on if they are going to replace it. They keep giving me the run around. I tried getting help from the manufacturer but my door has no serial # on it for some reason & Precision didn't even know the model they put in & couldn't help me with that as of today. They said they where waiting on word from the manufacturer. That was 8/29/16. So my advice is: never pay them in full until your satisfied, make sure there is a serial # on the unit & get all the paperwork on it. If they finally do help solve this issue, I will let you know. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB. It's now 10/5/16 & still no results. They sent a door salesman here to tell me that's how the door is & after I questioned him he admitted not ever even seeing the door in person, he only sells them. Pretty sneaky of precision if you ask me. I'll update soon. Hopefully they fix it by winter so the cold stays out. Update: It's now October 27th and still no fix. This review speaks to the above and beyond level of customer service that this team provides. I purchased windows from Precision over 15 years ago and have never had an issue with any of the windows. Recently, I moved out of Brockton and had to remove a LR window to lower out a very large sofa. I called Precision Door and Window late on a Friday afternoon and got Anthony on the phone. He told me how to remove the top window but the lower window was not cooperating. Since they were so old, he was not completely familiar with how to remove them so he gave me the number of one of their installers. That person was not available so he gave me the number of the owner, Tony. I was hesitant to call the owner over something so small but I did. When Tony answered, he tried to walk me through the process but he, too, couldn't picture the workings of this old window. Mind you, Tony tried to walk me through this while he was participating in a golf tournament! Tony gave me the number of another installer who lived in Brockton. Tony said, "If he can't help you over the phone, I'm sure he'll come to your house to help." Wow. When I called the next installer, he was in the middle of feeding his new baby but he was more than willing to walk me through the steps to remove the window. His instructions were perfect. The window came out and went back in without an issue. So here's the thing - you can always find better prices for stuff but you really can't put a price on outstanding customer service. I never needed to call these guys in 15+ years but when I did need them, they did not hesitate to help me. I would use them again in a heartbeat, and so should you. read more

I december 2017 we had a new front door and storm door installed as well as a basement security door. The installation went smoothly but after it was done we noticed some issues with the locks and the storm door. The dead bolts on both doors were very difficult to lock and unlock. The front door was so difficult it took several minutes trying to get in the house. The storm door does not latch on its own and has to be closed manually every time. When informed of the problem, they did send someone down in a timely fashion. In trying to fix the screen door he made it worse, and then when fixing it to where it was, managed to chip the paint on the door as well as the frame. As for the front lock he made a slight adjustment so that it would lock. The problem with the basement door was a protective edge that was left on which he removed. Yes we could open the front door but it required using both hands requiring one hand to pull on the knob. The we noticed the basement bolt lock did not work. Repeated phone calls were made with assurances they would get back to us . More than 4 months later nothing happened. Given the security issue, we did get the locks fixed but not by Precision. As for the storm door we are not sure what to do yet. On their webb site Precision states to "resolve any problems big or small in a timely manner." Well in our experience this is not true.. Would I recommend them? Absolutely not. read more
