Iconic New York slice! They've got a few locations but this is the main and best one. Seriously a great and easy slice.

I think this OG Joe's is the best Joe's. Classic NYC slice. Crispy, legit undercarriage, good enough sauce and cheese. Slices are $4.50. Cash only. Sometimes there is a line. Most of the time no (unlike Times Square). Known for the Spider-Man movie but one of the best slices in NYC despite the hype.

We door dashed Joe's. They cooked it so fast, really pleased with the taste of the cheese. There were some black burn spots on the bottom of the crust, but it didn't taste too burnt. The sausage was pepperoni shaped. I would like if the sausage cooked a bit more so it didn't like boiled, I like it more baked. Can't complain, it hit the spot !

Since 1975, pre-fold pepperoni pizza

When we arrived, there were a lot of people inside and outside of this tiny pizzeria. But the tables outside turn quickly. This place is an institution. Great pizza and CHEAP! Son loved it and had a 2nd slice which he showed me how to do the NY fold. The real reason Hubs wanted to come here is that this is where Peter Parker got fired in the Spiderman flick. lol. Recommend if you are in the area.

Cash only! It makes no sense when nobody carries cash anymore. Of course, they have an old crusty ATM machine at the door and you can pay a high surcharge to use it. They probably own that machine anyway, so that high surcharge would go to them. I also see several reviews here about their ATM machine being compromised with skimmers to steal your bank info. Beware.

Sure, Joe's is pretty touristy, but that doesn't mean it's not good. It's simple, classic, and there's not much else to say. A slice is about $5, but it's filling and works as a nice stop during the day. They move incredibly fast, and it's a cash-only establishment, which is a little crazy for its popularity, but maybe that's a part of the charm.

Sicilian and plain slices

So I've come here several times over the years and I have to say that my prior review was wrong; the Sicilian slice is great and I get it every time I come here. Here's to admitting when you're wrong and Joe makes a great slice!

Highly recommend the og joes over the other joes in the city. The Times Square one has a crazy line and the crust kind of tastes like cardboard. Less of a line and higher quality pizza at the west village location.

Short and sweet... this place is great. We bring most of our NYC visitors here using Joe's to set the standard. Pizza is crisp, flavorful and bright. Service is fast! Ambiance is fast order, in and out in a steady queue... in and out! Love THIS Joe's!

Came here to enjoy a few slices with my tour guide. It wasn't packed (Monday afternoon) but it is clearly a popular spot. My tour guide had ordered a large cheese "pie" and it was HOT. I highly recommend eating these "pies" while they are HOT. Greasy? Yes, very. Was it good? Yes. I think so. Perhaps too much grease for my liking though. I'd still come back.

Joe's Pizza is on borrowed time. I wouldn't be able to tell Joe's from any other $1.50 slice in the city. This slice flops badly, there is no structure, no crisp bottom. It's a mushy mess. That quintessential orange hue that is so common of a true NYC slice is nonexistent. Even with a hefty dollop of oregano, garlic, & pepper, every bite of this slice was bland. I walked right in to grab my slice during the afternoon today, sadly I think I found the out the reason why. Service was prompt, the ambiance is NYC.

I happened to stumble upon Joe's on a random night. I'll admit, I was originally trying to go to John's of Bleecker nearby. However, I was alone and John's only sells whole pies and no slices. So I came back over to Joe's as I saw there was a pretty solid line so I figured it had to be pretty good. Important thing to note is that the place only takes cash (luckily there's an ATM outside if you need) and is the type of place that appreciates when its customer knows exactly what they want, at least that was the vibe I got from it. The line moves fairly quick for that reason and for the fact that their menu is very simple. They have your usual toppings such as cheese and pepperoni. They also have a mozzarella pizzas and some Sicilian offerings. I know they have other locations but the West Village one is pretty small and can get packed, especially when there's a line. It's not uncommon to share tables and condiments with people. The pizza itself was very good. The cheese had a good saltiness and tanginess. Their pepperoni had a good meaty flavor that went well with their cheese. The experience may vary depending on the slice you get and how long it's been out. Few of my slices came out a bit floppier than expected and didn't have that nice crisp to it on the bottom of the dough. Perhaps if you order a fresh pie, it might be different. Overall though, I'd come back if I was in West Village again and looking to have pizza.

Joes is a classic every New York visit especially at 2am in the morning. I love think crust pizza and their chili flakes actually gives you a good kick. Can never go wrong with joes

Ask the Community - Joe's Pizza

Do they cater?

Hi, you can email Ian.joespizza@gmail.com with your catering needs

What is the largest size for tshirts?

XXL

Will Joe's be adding any vegan slices in the future?

a lot of people dont know but They already have an amazing CheeseLESS veggie only pie !!! very very very good.

Can you call and order a pie ahead of time in order for a quicker pick-up?

You can order pickup. They're on a number of services where you can order pickup or delivery without calling as well. I use DoorDash most frequently.

Is there a public restroom in the restaurant?

I did not use one while there but from the layout I would say no. It is a very small establishment.

Is there a place to sit?

It's a small shop so there isn't much seating. There is a table in the middle and counter space all along the walls and window where you can find a few seats (bar stool type).

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

It is located right in the hallway of a subway entrance, next to a bar and across from a coffee shop, and it somehow manages to feel like a cozy, sit-down restaurant right in the middle of NYC. Don't let the odd location fool you, the food here is outstanding. The Neapolitan and Sicilian-style pizzas are both exceptional, with rich, well-balanced flavors and perfectly executed crusts. Every bite tastes high quality. Also, don't skip the house-made lemonade! The experience is even better because of the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. They were all so kind to so many people. From offering to keep leftovers in the fridge until a customer was done at their broadway show, to offering a scone to a young child while he and his father waited for their pizza to be done, it was more than just flipping a table and onto the next tip, it was humanity at its best. Be sure to give See No Evil Pizza a try. You certainly will want to come back again for more.
