Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The coffee was extra hot and the breakfast at noon wood decent (chicken fried steak & eggs- a tad over fried for my liking ) to great (French toast). The strawberry stuff'd donut I took home was the best. Will definitely return and I will try a different breakfast. read more

We went to joes tonight after church. It took forever to get served we placed our order and it took every bit of 45 minutes to get our food and it's not like they were busy. When we got the food it was cold. Very disappointed I will not be going back to eat inside. I got a better burger and onion rings from the takeout. I saw it posted, "Joe's knows donuts." Yes, Joe's knows donuts. I can walk in and get 1/2 doz mixed and be out in 5 min or less. Sit down? Forget it. Saturday morning (around 9A) we walked in and sat down for breakfast. STARVED! It took about 7 min for someone to greet us and bring us drinks. From there it didn't get any quicker. We placed our food order about 7 min later, then waited 30 min for our food to come out. Ironically, it came out in to go containers, because at that point, when we finished eating, we weren't going to wait for to go containers for leftovers. 3 egg build your own omelet was very good. I asked for 2 egg and it came out 2 egg size. Husband's Lena Bowl sunny side up looked great, except it wasn't very hot, as if it had sat in the back. I asked him to send it back, but he wouldn't. Toast came out for his order, but mine came out about halfway through my meal. Service: The people working were very nice and kept apologizing, but I could hear them verbalizing their frustration, and in the end it was shared they were overwhelmed and understaffed for all the in-house and Uber Eats and Door Dash orders, because they didn't have enough kitchen staff. While I understand you don't want to turn away business, some parameters around delivery service hours could be established, and/or extra staff specifically for Saturday morning or for delivery service orders might help. I know we will NEVER eat in breakfast at this location again, because when you're hungry, you're hungry, and we made the effort to get in our car and come to the location to eat. We did get a 1/2 doz mixed to go and enjoyed them at our home. The two stars is for the donuts, and the staff left in the trenches to handle this mess. read more

The young lady was looking at me through the glass sipping and stirring her coffee. She finally arrived to the widow and proceeded to take my order. I ordered 2 glazed cream donuts. My total was $3.12 a bit high for 2 donuts. But what the hell, it was too late and I was hungry. I gave the girl a $5 bill and she literally shoved $1.88 in change in my hand. Literally one of the best king cakes iv tried. Customer service is kind. 10 out 10 recommend.

I ordered 2 steak bagel over medium with pepper jack sauce on. I received 2 steak bagel over easy sauce on side and some other cheese. The order was correct on the receipt. Service sucks and can't read apparently. No car to exchange it. So I stuck with it and hormonal. So I'm nOt eating mine. Def not a good vibe. Place looks dingy as well. I hate cash only joints! Get a credit and debit card system people! Convenience for the customer! Sheesh! Okay...that rant is over. New Orleans and the metropolitan area has too many great food spots, that are quite inexpensive to make this a go to establishment. One good thing about this place is that they are open always, which is what many food places were in New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina. They also serve breakfast all day for you folks that just love eating breakfast at all times of the night and day. I actually have to admit that their taste is decent. Not the best I have had in New Orleans, but definitely will do in a pinch. I don't like the fact they are quite pricey for a place that is slightly about a hole in the wall establishment. All in all, you have a chef cooking the full menu all day. They also have donuts of many varieties, which includes a really popular Texas sized doughnut that can't seem to stay on the shelf! Joe's Cafe II was a quick 10 minute drive away from my hotel when I stayed in the Harvey area. My fiancée and I actually ate from here twice during our 3 night stay, because we loved the food when we had it the first night using the Waitr app. I fell in love with the crawfish and corn soup. I got it the first time and this is the main reason for coming back the second time. It was delicious. Lots of corn and little crawfish and has a little bit of a kick when it goes down your throat. Ugh. I miss it so much as I'm typing this. First night that we ordered, I got a side of potato salad along with the soup. When we arrived to pick up our food, they had to flag us down outside because they forgot it in the bag. My fiancée ordered a fried pork chop dinner, which he said was crispy and had a great flavor and spice. While ordering online, he put that he wanted a side of gravy as well. They didn't count it as a side so we were given more fries! Awesome! My potato salad was awesome too. Your basic potato salad with mayo and eggs and potato. The second time coming, I definitely got the soup and more potato salad. I wish I tried something else aside from the potato salad! The previous time coming I got a LOT more potato salad.. and honestly, I don't even think I had potatoes in the potato salad during the second time we ordered. I'm sure I didn't. It tasted the same as the day before but had literally no potatoes. I didn't know until much later. My fiancée got the chicken and waffles, and his only complaint was that the chicken was a bit bland and definitely needed salt, but aside from that, the dish was great! The soft warm fluffy waffle was super satisfying. We also tried some beignets and two donuts (they have some donuts bigger than your head!). The beignets were delicious. When you take them to go they just sit atop a huge pile of powdered sugar! The donuts were great too. We got a buttermilk and a chocolate glazed. Both awesome. Much better than a Krispy Kreme or a Dunkin. The service on our second visit was unlike our first. The service on the first visit was great, despite them having to flag us down for something forgotten. The host/server was very kind. The second day though, there were different staff present and the older woman who was helping me out made me feel like a complete nuisance. She was yelling "ughhh" and making lots of other complaints in front of me as if me needing an extra side of gravy completely ruined her day. It made me very uncomfortable. Anyway, I definitely do recommend that soup. Next time I will try some of their other dishes. Their menu in store is much much larger than what you see on the Waitr app! read more

Ok, So my sister came home with food from a diner....My absolute favorite!! It was a burger and fries didn't taste the fries but boy was the burger good.. The bread was so good, that sweet sourdough and the meat tasted frozen but not overcooked. All in all, I was Hungry, it tasted good. Fast forward to today. We are in the car and makes an unplanned stop. Says she wants donuts. Being the meat eater I am, I said I'm going to look at the menu. Long story short... 2 breakfast burgers (with fried egg and bacon), 2 onion rigs subbed for the fries at an extra 2.75$ per order and an order of egg rolls. all totaled to $34.00. The onions rings would have been good if they were fried in fresh grease. They were thin slices and coated lightly. The burgers were well overdone even though they were both ordered as medium. The egg rolls were so good!! They were seafood, like crawfish and shrimp with a jelly pepper sauce. It has potential to be so much more but I think I'll pass for a while. read more

Beware! Roaches!! If I could give this place -5 stars I would. Picked up 55 breakfast sandwiches and two dozen donuts for the PGA Tour at Zurich. They were all covered in roaches and my car was a roach motel! Called the manager to let her know that I needed a refund because I had to throw all the food away and she insisted her establishment didn't have roaches and was not apologetic whatsoever. The workers there are nasty. I walked in to buy a dozen doughnuts. As I was looking through their selection...I noticed a fly on one of the doughnuts. I told the worker about it and she removed the doughnut slower with a bad attitude and she told another worker like something was wrong with me for saying something about the fly (ARE YOU SERIOUS?). The other worker told me..."that's just extra protein". I told her that was nasty protein. She tried to say something else that was incoherent. I walked out. Please do not buy any food from here. If you do not care about hygiene or your health...then buy their food. But, by far, they have to be the most careless and nasty doughnut cafe I know of on the Westbank. read more

The food was awesome but don't expect table service because you aren't getting it. They don't come to your table for refills or even to bring your food. Two loud TV's playing different channels and loud poker machines make table chats damn near impossible. I recommend their food a thousand times over,but get it to go. If they would slightly alter their business model I would feel differently. The pancakes are the best in town, if you can finish them you deserve a trophy. Breakfast is average fare. Nothing to brag about. The burgers,yeah that's a winner. Add a fried egg and some bacon and OMG , smack your mama. My wife twice had tried to order speghetti and meat sauce but they don't have it even though it is on the menu. The pastry and doughnuts, average at best. I just received the worst order of French toast I've ever eaten. I'm not usually a complainer, but I didn't even finish eating it. It was a serious waste of my money. I went through the drive-through (you order at the window and wait there & thats no big deal). My French toast was soggy, the "powdered" sugar was in the form of huge clumps/balls rather than powder, and I didn't even receive syrup. I didn't realize that until I was a mile down the road. It's a good cafe with wonderful donuts, beignets, and home cooked meals. I've been here 4 times this week and forgot to check in all but once. Even though we were the only customers in line with only two other customers in the diner it took us several minutes to even be acknowledged When someone finally recognized we haven't been served & they got off their angry personal phone call there was no apology I ordered a simple cheese & sausage patty on a croissant and side of grits. I got home to a very sloppy greasy soggy thrown together sandwich that was falling apart with no cheese and the bread was torn (I wish I took a picture I swear I'm not one of those people that complains for no reason) on top that I paid 4 bucks for a small side grits and did not receive that either. Not to be too much but the sloppy sandwich had me quickly running to the bathroom after just to make matters worse. I LOVE JOES CAFE but can someone please change the advertising that's says they are open 24/7.... ThanksGiving and this Christmas morning I pass by to get coffee and donuts and both locations in marrero were closed..... Yes these are holidays and being closed is totally except-able but when you say your open and people get out the house and go out their way to use your Awesome Service it's a pain in the butt when your closed. This was the worst experience I think I've ever had at a diner. We waited OVER AN HOUR for food that we ended up having to get to go. I called in to order and was put on hold for 16 minutes . The whole time they were laughing and joking with customers inside cafe. How hard was it to take an order of 2 items? How many orders did they lose out on while I was on hold and phone line giving out busy signals? This is ridiculous. Are people inside store more valuable to them ? They are overpriced for one. Im very dissatisfied with the service from the Marrero / Barataria location. The whole time I listened, they were having whole conversations with people. Tea is always sour and improperly logged in time sheet. Only one crew out of two cook the orders properly and the donuts, though high priced, are what keeps the business a float. The food is old. Customer service is terrible. The personnel are not friendly and they ignore the customers. The manager of the business has the worst attitude so I see where the staff get it from. Check your receipt before you leave the register. I rated the place one star because the donut crew and one cooking crew deserve credit, other than that, there would be negative stars given!! read more

Only getting one star because I can't choose zero!! Horrible!!! Ordered through Waitr and the food was not correct and just thrown into the boxes. Called the restaurant to let them know the the food was not prepared correctly (no cheese on a burger that comes with cheese and none of the add on items that we paid extra for). Yhe lady who answered the phone told me it was drivers fault the food was not correct because she should have checked it. Very rude and dismissive, not their problem!!
