What a fun little spot in Gramercy. It's on the corner of 16th St. and Third Avenue. It seems to be from the 70s. Staff is friendly. The place is a little crusty!! Tho the food was great. My husband loved his cheeseburger deluxe and I had an egg salad sandwich and a cup of matzoh ball soup. I'll come back. It was good and the prices aren't bad! Very local. Zero tourists.

Old school classic diner that has stayed in biz bc they do things well. We tried the meatloaf with fries n matzo ball soup n Greek omlette with rye toast n coffee. All good!!

Classic old school spot! Three of us came at 5 PM on a Thursday for a quick bite. I got the cheeseburger deluxe. Burger could have had more flavor, but the fries were absolutely perfect.

I've been coming here for years, they are renowned for their absolutely delicious hamburgers. Their burgers remind me of my mother in laws whose were divine. I've had burgers all over the city and Joe's for sure ranks up there in the borough. Joe's has a diner counter if the place is packed, there is also outdoor seating on a nice day out. They have a typical diner menu if you didn't come for the burgers, the staff is very friendly and willing to accommodate anyone who might be picky. The bathroom is clean and the prices are reasonable for Manhattan, oh and try the onion soup!!

A really classic small diner serving typical breakfast menu during the morning. I got the pastrami omelette and it is delicious along with the home fries that go with it. Also love the vibe of such a neighbourhood diner with no fancy touches - just serving good food with friendly service!

Old school NYC diner that are sadly disappearing and becoming harder to find. It has a ruff and gruff charm to it. A bit grizzled and worn. Authentic. Cozy. A place where the locals gather. Solid food at decent prices. Friendly and quick service. Not much more to say. Dropped in for a quick lunch and was satisfied. French fries prepared crispy as ordered. Tasty sandwich. Pickle and cup of cole slaw are classic sides included with the meal. If you're the type who needs a place to be more fancy and shiny this won't be your thing. If you just want a decent meal in an old school no frills diner you'll settle right in here.

{Overall: 3.5; Food: 3.25} Atmosphere: 3; Service: 3 Solid, old-school diner in Murray Hill with every diner staple you could want. The food here is what you'd expect from a diner experience. Over the weekend, the restaurant is always bustling - if there's a line, don't worry it moves quickly and they churn out the food ASAP after you order. We had the cheeseburger, meatloaf with mashed potatoes, a strawberry milkshake, OJ and black coffee.

We stopped by here mid-afternoon. This was on my bucket list as a lifetime fan of the hamburger. I flagged down the fella at the counter from the front door. The staff was apparently on a meal break. I ordered mine deluxe as we sat at an enclosed table on the sidewalk. I enjoyed it. The burger was cooked medium, as requested. I admit some of the photos on Yelp appear to be of thicker burger patties, though. Fries and burger were not overly greasy. The thimble sized cole slaw that came with it was an afterthought. I really liked my lemonade. Not too sweet. I will be sure to return some day.

I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar Salad, which comes with grilled chicken, kale, Caesar dressing, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a huge piece of buttered bread. I also added grilled steak cooked medium because apparently one protein wasn't enough for me. Both the chicken and steak were flavorful, and the steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The salad was filling enough to feel like an actual meal rather than just something light. I also ordered the Strawberry Margarita, which was only $10 thanks to their all day, everyday margarita special. And listen, they are NOT playing with that margarita. It was strong but still tasted really good, which is exactly the balance I want from a cocktail. I ate alone and really liked the seating setup. I had a cute little booth that felt perfect for a solo diner, but it would work just as well for two people. The restaurant also has plenty of seating for larger groups, so it seems like an easy choice whether you're eating alone or coming with friends or family. The servers were attentive to me and assisted me quickly. They also checked in on me multiple times. The interior was another highlight. There's a beautiful wall covered with different pieces of artwork that adds a lot of character to the restaurant and makes the space feel much more visually interesting than your typical diner. Overall, this was a great quick meal while I was out running errands. Good food, a surprisingly strong $10 margarita, and a comfortable atmosphere for dining solo. I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

We loved seeing the pastries on display in the case while we queued for the table to be ready. I had the avocado salad with chicken, and my mom opted for the salted caramel waffle and hash browns. Aside from that, we had a fantastic experience here at Friedmans Herald Square near Penn Station. They were playing Hilary Duff music, which was such a fun touch since they often match the vibe of whatever is happening at MSG! They even had special Hilary Duff mocktails. The atmosphere is super sweet and cozy. The restaurant was empty when we first walked in, but the second we sat down, it completely packed up! The waiter was very friendly, and even though they weren't able to split the check at the table, they did provide an itemized receipt to make figuring it out easy. The food was great overall--the Mac & Cheese bites and the corn were especially good! We also tried the cheesecake and molten cake. Plus, the neighbors sitting next to us were so sweet. The food here is expensive and overpriced for diner food, but you're in Times Square and this is a known tourist trap, so if you go in with the right expectations, you'll have a good time. Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense
