Old fashioned French toast, 2 eggs with american cheese, cup of coffee (challah French toast is available)
    Kevin L.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was full. People line up in the middle upon entry beside the tables, just people everywhere, tight space.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Saw every dish pass by it all looked good. Standard diner breakfast dishes, I also saw burgers, they looked hefty, classic cheese. The waiters are attentive but I did wait a while for a coffee refill, that annoyed me. My bill including tip $36.95. Sheesh.

    Grilled cheese with tomato

I cannot stop thinking about the grilled cheese I had at Waverly Diner, truly a perfect diner classic. The bread had that buttery, golden crust you only get when it's made fresh to order, the tomatoes were surprisingly generous, and the cheese was melted exactly the way you want it. Simple, satisfying, nostalgic, and delicious. We came in late at night and the service was still quick and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibes didn't disappoint either: cozy, cute, and the kind of place where you can sit with friends for hours, especially on a winter night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll definitely be back! 5/5

No nonsense diner; both our chicken paninis (one pesto, one breaded) had tender meat and great sauce. Also, the potato salad side? Insane. Our waiter was very quick as well and we left full! Did I mention how good the malt milkshakes are?

5 stars on a diner scale - not a fine dining scale. Deciding between Washington Square Park Diner and here is no contest. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Excellent location at the crossroads of Greenwich Village and West Village.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating options range from 2 seaters to a big dining spot for 8.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Tables turn over quickly and the wait was short. I'm a tuna melt connoisseur and have 0 notes. The coffee was also top notch. Served (as it should be) in a small ceramic cup with many refills. Price was $

2 eggs any style, served with hash browns

I came here for dinner on a Sunday night. I ordered two eggs any style (I opted for over easy), which came with toast and home fries. Solid food, but a bit expensive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, I thought this was a pretty classic American diner.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Feels so cozy inside! Waverly Diner has a classic American diner feel, although the prices are a bit high.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I liked the spinach omelette, but the hash brows on the side were just okay. I really enjoyed the buttered toast they gave on the side. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The seating feels cozy, and the staff are warm and friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A very normal diner in NYC. Good location between west village and Greenwich village.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Came around 4pm on a Sunday and it actually had a decent crowd.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waverly melt was good with the onions but the fries were very mid. The Reuben was also open faced which was unexpected (and not exactly what we wanted). Also had the chocolate chip pancakes -- recommend the top pancake as it had the most chocolate chips on it. Overall, nothing amazing but nothing bad. Massive menu.

I was staying in the West Village. This diner and the Washington Square Diner were both nearby. I visited this one for a quick late lunch because it's right above the W. 4th St. Metro stop. The menu is quite extensive and I think anything can be ordered at any time. After looking through the entire menu, I opted for a Western omelette with hash browns and wheat toast, and a "fresh homemade" lemonade. The omelette and potatoes were served in a skillet, but I don't think they were prepared in it. The omelette was more done than I like, and the hash browns not as crisp as I like, but they were fine. as was the lemonade. There were a lot of other interesting things on the menu, and their dessert selection looked very good. Great spot for a quick bite, or if you can't get into one of the West Village's hundreds of hot, pricey restaurants.

It is good for post-bar drunken food. It's kinda a grimy place doesn't feel like it's had a proper clean in a longggg time. Service was quick and attentive. The waverly melt was very good, just like a patty melt. The fries were OK, lacked a bit of salt.

Ahhhh... it just feels like home. Stopped in with a friend for rice pudding and apple pie (see below). HEAVEN! Good coffee. Good service with a classic diner interior (and don't forget that classic neon sign). I need to expound on the apple pie a moment. No shade to the rice pudding (some of the best in the city), but that apple pie... it's... well, it's close to perfect. I don't like sweet and this pie is not too sweet. It's not not sweet, it's just kind of the perfect level of sweet. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to get it again, as the memory of that pie is almost as good as a forkful.

I ordered the Kale Chicken Caesar Salad, which comes with grilled chicken, kale, Caesar dressing, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a huge piece of buttered bread. I also added grilled steak cooked medium because apparently one protein wasn't enough for me. Both the chicken and steak were flavorful, and the steak was cooked exactly how I wanted it. The salad was filling enough to feel like an actual meal rather than just something light. I also ordered the Strawberry Margarita, which was only $10 thanks to their all day, everyday margarita special. And listen, they are NOT playing with that margarita. It was strong but still tasted really good, which is exactly the balance I want from a cocktail. I ate alone and really liked the seating setup. I had a cute little booth that felt perfect for a solo diner, but it would work just as well for two people. The restaurant also has plenty of seating for larger groups, so it seems like an easy choice whether you're eating alone or coming with friends or family. The servers were attentive to me and assisted me quickly. They also checked in on me multiple times. The interior was another highlight. There's a beautiful wall covered with different pieces of artwork that adds a lot of character to the restaurant and makes the space feel much more visually interesting than your typical diner. Overall, this was a great quick meal while I was out running errands. Good food, a surprisingly strong $10 margarita, and a comfortable atmosphere for dining solo. I'd definitely stop in again when I'm in the area.

Do not show up here without a reservation, as it is very popular! The interior is your typical diner vibe. We loved seeing the pastries on display in the case while we queued for the table to be ready. I had the avocado salad with chicken, and my mom opted for the salted caramel waffle and hash browns. Everything was delicious and huge portions. Our waitress was very slow and didn't check on us much at all, but the great food made up for it. Make sure to stop by here with a reservation!

The food here is expensive and overpriced for diner food, but you're in Times Square and this is a known tourist trap, so if you go in with the right expectations, you'll have a good time. I got the Be Bop a Lula Burger which came with mushrooms, onions, and bacon and it was a solid burger. I also really liked how crunchy the waffle fries were. Would I normally pay nearly $30 for a burger? No. But I came here to hear the talented singers perform Broadway songs so I just chose an entree for the sake of it. Fast forward to 2026 (where I'm finally not broke as hell), the day has finally come, and I am ecstatic about stepping foot into this diner that surprisingly is still standing in 2026. The inside certainly feels like a diner, but not quite the old-school dinginess that I'm used to--it's clean. Given that it was Sunday at noon, it was very crowded in there and mainly flooded with tourist groups, but a table opened up for us pretty quickly. For a NYC diner, the menu is certainly small - this is probably done to keep tables moving faster. I got the Pastrami Hash & Eggs and it was just overdone and super oily and dry--almost as if they just refried everything except the sunnyside egg. Not gonna lie, I was very disappointed, given that I had waited for so long to come here, only to get food that was an attempt to give the staleness another chance by refrying and reheating. I actually beat myself up a little the rest of the day for finishing the whole thing, knowing that the oversaltiness was flirting with opening up some high blood pressure. It was also not moderately priced by any means (was close to $30), but I know I'm helping pay for that Midtown and proximity to Central Park pricing. Not sure if I'll return, which saddens me, but also knowing that they're part of a conglomerate at Fireman Group (and still run independently in a sense) makes total sense
