Very pleased with this location. I have difficulty standing. I can walk, but to stand in one place to examine fabrics, books, or to compare prices makes me hate shopping. Unlike the Modesto location, the Turlock store has an accommodation for people such as myself....they have a wide seat wheelchair. I use the wheelchair nearly every time I go shopping there. The aisles are wide enough to comfortably accommodate my enept maneuvering of the wheelchair. The staff is also knowledgable. I have stumped them once. I was pleased that they called for assistance, and then admitted that no one knew anything about the craft I was asking about. I would much rather see that, than to be led on a goose chase hat could be expensive. read more

Love love love Joann's. Everyone is always nice and friendly. Pick up orders and completed so fast!

I have shopped at Joann's and have returned items at different locations before, but the manager DeeAnna has a horrible attitude. I purchased items at Joann's at a different location, and came to Turlock to return the items since it was closer to me. I did not use the items. I had my receipt along with my app. I understand when the system has an issue but the manager DeeAnna was unprofessional, rude and had an attitude. Aimee, the cashier was nice and understanding. The system would not allow them to pull up our receipt so Aimee had to get DeeAnna involved. They had to override each item. The comment that DeeAnna said was "Just FYI for the future, coming in 5 minutes before we close to do the return makes it hectic." She complained under her breath that "we're going to have to manually scan the items, override it and put in the price. Mind you, there was no line and it wasn't our fault their system was giving them issues as the manager had admitted. read more

I went here cuz I was on the other side of town and needed a minor crafting item. No one was in the store. The store itself is icky...it's cold and warehousey. Their prices were expensive And their loud Christmas cheesy music was annoying. Had to wait for a clerk. Judge for yourself read more

Very disappointed! I placed an order for pick up! And they sold me a ripped up bag of pearls! Who knows how much pearls were lost! They had the audacity to tape the bag!! If I was the one picking up I would've put them in check! But it was my husband who pick it up! I will be returning to speak to the manager! Not happy at all! read more

I'm writing this review in hopes that the managers at this location will inform their employees of the importance of being helpful to both the women and men who come into their store. My dad went in to the store to help my mom out with some things she needed. He left feeling embarrassed and upset with the employees lack of care for his need for assistance. He was ignored and not taken seriously in his questions. He left feeling like he was stupid. Please be patient and helpful to all persons who come into your store. read more

Writing my first review because of this store! The staff at the fabric station were extraordinarily kind. Jackie and Summer attended us and made our day too! We need more people like them in this world :) read more

Love this place! Was my first time here and it's just so nice. The store is clean and open with good lighting. Not only did they have the yarn I've been looking for for the last two weeks they had it in sale! Then I downloaded their app and saved an additional ten dollars on my purchase! The staff was welcoming and polite and I'm just in love with this store. Worth the drive out of Modesto! Definitely found my Michaels replacement with this place! read more

Just as another Yelp reviewer posted, easily the rudest staff I've ever encountered in a retail store. Too bad I can't give zero stars! Here's my story (I'll try to be as concise as possible)... My wife went in with my 2 year-old daughter a few weeks ago. My daughter grabbed a small package of Smarties candies and accidentally spilled some of them. The manager on duty, Marie, then requested that my wife pay for the candies. It's only candies but that's fine, we all must be responsible people. However, the cashier did not have to ask my wife if she wanted the candies that spilled on the floor. Obviously she didn't, so the cashier proceeded to throw away the spilled candies AND the unspilled candies while STILL CHARGING my wife for them (my wife thought she was getting the good candies until she came home). When my wife came home and explained the situation, I called Marie, who then proceeded to offer to DIG OUT the trashed candies if I wanted them (I was offered this twice). No apology for her actions, and she was actually upset that I was calling her offer stupid! I called the regional manager and got a call back and apology (after about a week's wait to get a call back) and was told that Marie was not the store manager. Shelly Lloyd was the store manager and I was told that she would take care of me. Well, I called Shelly to see what she would say and it took about a week to get a follow-up call from her. When she finally cared enough to call me, she was very blunt and unapologetic. She sounded like she didn't want to talk to me and didn't empathize for my horrible experience and my wife's horrible in-store experience. If you must shop here, this review won't stop you from going. So if you do, make sure you avoid these poor excuses for management like the plague when you go in. As for me, I will be taking my business elsewhere. For those that make their decisions based on reviews like these, I hope you steer clear of this place. read more

Let's begin by saying I have held my breath for this opening. The only craft store in town: Michael's has a limited selection, no fabrics, and jerks for staff. So needless to say, I'm probably not the only one. The store is filled with a super great selection from what I can tell! And the staff is friendly enough; however.... I have heard from many that the cutting of the fabrics have been nothing short of butchering. Haha Sadly, today I can confirm that the training on the fabric cutting was very very very poor. Guess it's harder than it looks. read more

JOANN Fabric and Crafts - The notorious cutting skills of the staff in the turlock location. - Fabric Stores Near Me - Turlock, California

I have had both positive and negative experiences here, which is why I am doing three stars. The cashier today, a guy, was super friendly and has an excellent personality. He was able to answer questions I had and didn't seem bothered. The other few times it was a light brown hair female who is always rude. She makes me seem like a bother with questions I ask and does NOT have the personality to be in customer service. To whomever this cashier is I am speaking about, I pay your check. Being nice and a smile isn't as hard as it seems. read more

Jo-Ann's is a very nice place to go and get stuff that you need for Christmas for your parts and crafts

Home away from home. I usually find just what I need quite quickly. The customer service is always good. Sometimes there aren't enough people checking, but chalk that up to a corporate problem, not managerial. read more

MArie rang us up and was really helpful and sweet. Had good recommendations and even though we struggled with using our app and coupon she helped us figure it out and was really patient. I've had bad experiences with other Joann fabric locations and came with a friend this time for wedding decor crafts and was happy to have such a pleasant experience. read more

We had coupons for a discount, and little did we know everything was 10% Off, meaning that our 70% off coupons didn't work for anything in the store, to make a long story short tears were shed, nothing was bought, and The Employees were a bunch of A**holes about everything. Thanks Joanne's! read more

Got a 40% off coupon in the paper today. Great. I have a small project and this would be a good way to get it off my to-do list. Went to the store and took the bolt of cloth from the rack to the cutting table. Took a number. There was one person cutting and three (3) staff in the immediate area doing other non-direct customer things. Waited about 10 minutes. None of the other clerks acknowledged my presence. Got the cloth cut and took the cloth and "chit" to the check out line. Six people in line: one checker. After about 10 minutes, the sole checker called for more help. Gave the new checker my coupon, the cloth and the chit. The total did not reflect the 40% discount. I asked why not. The checker said the coth was "on-sale" and therefore the coupon could not be used. I asked what the discout was. 13%. Let get this straight. They discounted the item(with no sales signs above the rack) 13% to avoid having to give a 40% coupon on one item. Yup. This my friends is the definition of "bait and switch" or just plain consumer cheating. You may find my cloth on the bargain rack because I walked out and will not be back. read more
