Everyone that worked there greeted us and was so friendly. The baked lemon pepper chicken, yeast rolls, sirloin steak patties and Mac and cheese were delicious. I love all the floral/magnolia decor. The sweet potato pie was really yummy. The only qualm I have is that EVERY single vegetable item has pork in it. EVERYTHING. I know we're in the south, but I haven't eaten pork since the late 90s so it just truly never occurred to the that would be the case in 2026. I likely won't go back for a full meal because of this, because I don't want to get just meat and carbs. It was also a little pricey. $50 for 2 meals and a slice of pie. I would absolutely come back to get a slice of pie to go! That would definitely be worth the drive.

Charging stations (plugs) available as well. Walk up counter, place order, wait for your number to be called. Do not be in a rush- made-to-order!! Worth the wait!!! If you are not starving- split a meal with a friend- portions are huge & truly DELICIOUS!!! Ask for sauces, if you want. They have tartare, cocktail & homemade hot sauces. Fresh lemons too. Pepsi products, sweet/unsweetened tea... NO ALCOHOL! Outstanding employees! All so nice! Big menu- ask for one if needed, they have scrolling screens & it is hard to figure out. Now, here is where the rating was impacted! I asked what type of fish it was before making a selection. The staff responded. "Catfish." Coo! Ultimately, it was NOT catfish. I would attribute the texture and how it fried to being along the lines of a Swai or similar fish. The only thing that saved it was the light cornmeal batter, which was good. Not much seasoning, so hot sauce was needed. Sides: Collard greens - good (per my hubs) Macaroni and cheese - standard/good (per my hubs) Deviled eggs - good Broccoli cheese casserole - PASS (there was some sort of brown crumble between the layer of cheese and the actual casserole and it was not needed and wasn't good! Hard, but honest opinion. Also, there were large mushrooms in the casserole (no, it wasn't from a mushroom soup), so beware if you're not a mushroom eater -- I don't mind. Mashed potatoes - good and creamy (Baby girl did no gravy, so we have no thoughts on that!) Fried okra - good (my fav of the sides for the day). We came before 11:30 AM and that proved to be ideal. By the time we left (12:15), it was packed tighter than a can of sardines! Ambiance -- ehhh. It's typical cafeteria vibes. No music. Basic decor.

While I know many come for the food, I personally make the 25-minute drive for one thing: the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. Or at least, I used to. Lately, it seems like something has changed in the process. The cheesecake hasn't been setting properly, and the cream cheese isn't fully blended into the sweet potato, leaving noticeable chunks. The flavor, once rich and decadent, has also diminished, making me question if it's still worth the trip. That said, I've heard the rest of the food is still solid, so if you're craving Southern comfort food, it may still be worth checking out. Me and a few friends tried it and when I tell you this place is NOT what I thought, but in a good way! First off, our waiter Ted was fantastic. All of us were first timer so he broke everything down, gave us a few faces by patrons and his personal faves. He was patient with us and gave us the best customer service. The restaurant itself is very unique. I love they had a small seating area with a small stage close, there's a private dining area, a bar and table and booth seating. It's not a huge space but it is big enough to be comfortable and cozy. Wasn't loud and even when the artist came up to play music, it wasn't too loud it still blended well with the restaurant noise. Ted emphasized that everything in here is made from scratch except a few things. For starters we had fried okra and a colossal shrimp cocktail. They both were great starters. I had a whiskey sour as well which was really good. I had a hard time choosing but I wound up getting the prime rib sandwich with mashed potatoes, my sis did prime rib as well but with oxtail collard greens and my other sis had the surf and turf special. Everything was so good! It's a good portion of food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the conversation. Downtown Stone Mountain has a hidden gem here, I'm already planning my trip back!

I donot eat steak fries So I just ordered the burger - medium well - not burned and it had no venison mixed or blended meat added The burger came out with old brown tarnished lettuce I sent it back for fresh lettuce . She brought it back they added thousand island dressing when I specially asked for mayo on the side which was also provided. What is going on in the kitchen I took a bittersweet bite anyways and spat it out.
