On December 9, 2025, JNL performed a maintenance check on our furnace. In January our furnace went out, because the ignition lighter needed cleaning. We were on vacation when the furnace went out. another company was doing work on our house at the time. They were able to get the furnace working at a cost of about $1,000. When we returned from vacation in February, I called JNL. I mistakenly told them the ignition lighter had to be replaced. Actually, the ignition was not replaced. It needed to be cleaned. JNL would not come to check my furnace unless I paid them for a service call. Later, I sent JNL an invoice from the other company showing that the furnace went out because the ignition lighter needed cleaning. JNL would still do nothing. read more

JNL has been servicing our son's heating and air conditioner for years and recently replaced both units, which were 21 years old. They were extremely professional, efficient and the price was less than expected. My husband and I will be using them in the future and recommending them to family and friends. read more

The service tech you sent out to my house today and Elgin did an excellent job servicing my furnace. I would like the same person back when he replaces a part next week, he didn't have it on the truck. His name was Jorge read more

I can't say enough about the professionalism and service of JNL. John came out to give me an estimate and didn't try to oversell me on a furnace/ac combo I didn't need (even though other companies did). He was straightforward and honest all throughout the process. Received my estimate and was blown away how reasonable it was. They came out in the workfare at the agreed to time, and they installed my furnace and a/c in less than 8 hours. American Standard furnace and ac, and this is quality stuff. I am really happy with the job they did, the fact they offered great financing, and my overall experience. I highly recommend them. read more

Will never, EVER use JNL again. Scheduled a routine furnace checkup despite the fact the system was running fine. Tech told me my furnace needed a new ignitor and he had a generic one in his truck for, "four ninety-five." When it came time to pay the bill the ignitor replacement was $496.00. The absolute MOST expensive OEM ignitor I could find ANYWHERE on the web for my brand furnace is $112.95 delivered. When I complained about the cost the tech said he could call his manager to see what night be done, and that's when I knew I was getting ripped, because reputable dealers will stand by their price. read more

Purchased a Furnace and AC from JNL 17 or 18 years ago and have used them for Maintenance Tune-ups and the like. Their service has always been good, but have found out recently that they charge exorbitantly for simple parts. Had a maintenance contract with them and recently got charged $199 for a $20 capacitor. Could understand $199 if the price included the trip charge, but I had already paid for a maintenance contract. Had the same experience with a furnace part in the winter. Just got off the phone with a representative from JNL following up on my bad review. They can't justify charging $199 for a $20 part, so instead they were very argumentative and rude and said they don't want me as a customer. read more

Kevin just left my house right now at 10pm. Around 7pm I noticed the house was chilly, checked the thermostat and it was 60 degrees and the vents all had cold air blowing out. Googled, tried some things myself (changed filter, turn the furnace off and on), nothing worked do I checked my local Everything Hoffman Estates facebook group for recommendations and tons of people were singing praises for JNL. Called the 24/7 line, talked to Jackie, she had the technician Kevin call me back 5 min later, Kevin was then at my door 45 min later, quickly diagnosed the problem, swapped the part to something that will get me heat tonight and will come by with the correct part in the morning. Kevin was professional, friendly, explained everything, what a gem. I'm super happy with JNL especially sitting in my nice warm house! read more

Our 33 year old furnace finally quit on us in the midst of a global pandemic. Kurt (the owner) quickly came out and assessed our situation and had Kevin install our new furnace the next day. The entire team was responsible, reliable, and respectful of our house and our safety during this time. We will absolutely be referring JNL to anyone looking for a similar service. read more

Unbelievable service from JNL! I called JNL right when they opened the day before Christmas Eve to place a service call. My moms furnace went out in -36 degree weather & JNL was on site within an hour. Placing the call was absolutely seamless and easy. The mechanic they sent was fantastic and had the issue diagnosed and repaired with parts that were already stocked in his truck within 45 minutes. To add, he caught other issues that should be fixed to prevent another breakage in extreme weather. I recommend JNLs reliability, professionalism and expertise to anyone and everyone. To add, the customer service was next to none. Quite refreshing to work with a company who genuinely cares for their customers & not the dollar. read more

Another great review for JNL here. Our a/c broke on a Monday. It was 25 years old so we had no interest in repairing it. After a different company quoted for the wrong tonnage and no new refrigerant line, no coil casing, no new foundation for the unit and a lesser brand for $4700, we called JNL. John (President) came out that Saturday morning and thoroughly explained each step and item we needed. He also looked at our thermostat and we found the old old thing did not support our newer two stage furnace to begin with. Monday we got our quote and with all the extra work it came in $1000 less for a better reviewed brand in the right tonnage with all the 'extras' above. Wow! Then they were able to schedule us for Wednesday morning (and the temps were getting to the 90s by that Friday so we needed it fast). They showed up on time and did a professional job, also installed a new thermostat we ordered. JNL will get your permit for you and files all the ComEd rebates on your behalf, so your invoiced price already has the discounts (no waiting for a ComEd check!). So far the a/c is working great and no problems. JNL will get our business for furnace and a/c maintenance going forward. Thanks, John and installers! read more

JNL was recommended by my very demanding sisters when I bought my house. Got the trifecta from them, air, water & furnace. Great work by the installers and excellent price on a top brand. The techs are very thorough on every maintenance visit, explaining what they've done and taking proactive measures if needed. It's very rare to find a company that you can totally trust, but JNL is that company! read more

We had quick (weekend) response from JNL. They were also very quick to come out to quote new equipment and were able to get it installed on the only day we were available to be home (by a very courteous and knowledgeable installer, Kevin.) We recommend JNL. read more

I am thrilled with our service at JNL. They installed our furnace and AC one year ago. I am still very happy with the entire process. This is a long-standing family business with a great BBB rating in customer service. They deserve it. They are not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. Their duct work seals are the best, they stand behind their work 100%, they cleanup after the install, and the owner personally called us later to make sure everything was satisfactory. I will not hesitate to call them again for any future needs. http://www.jnlclimatecontrol.com read more

Very pleased with the furnace and AC unit JNL installed for me last February. I worked with Kurt on selecting the unit and he worked with me to find the unit I wanted at a price point I was looking for. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. They started by laying tarps on my floors from the door to the basement where the unit was being installed. They were very carful with my house when removing the old furnace and brining in the new one. I have a finished basement and the unit was being installed in an enclosed area so they had to work around the walls and such. They did a great job getting the old unit out and the new unit in without any damage to my walls. I also needed to have the AC lines routed up and over some ducting and they were able to get it exactly they way I wanted it. As for the unit itself, I am very pleased with the performance and comfort of the new system. The furnace is an american standard gold serious variable speed unit and the AC condenser is a single stage unit. For our house, and needs, the comfort is perfect. The furnace is very quiet and when it's on the low speed you can hardly hear it running. The AC unit was installed on a pad, previously it was hung off the house. Having the unit on the pad reduced the sound of the AC condenser quite a bit. Overall, I am very happy with the work JNL did. I would definitely use them again! read more

Is it possible that a company keeps getting better?? YES!! JNL has serviced our furnace and air conditioner for a couple of years now. We have also used them for plumbing services. They also take care of both my daughter's homes. My recent contact with them was for an air cleaner. Kurt called back same day with information and will be sending a quote. We had already had service scheduled for this past Thursday and the tech who came out was Zac. HE WAS AMAZING! He was kind, considerate (kept mask on and shoe covers), he was informative and in my view went above and beyond what many do. I am very picky, trust me, you won't be disappointed by their great service! read more

JNL was referred by a neighbor and more than lived up to her glowing reference in replacing our two water heaters. The job could not have gone more smoothly - on time arrival, highly competent plumber, good communications, completed in a few hours, great price. I'd like to compliment JNL, and especially President John Beening, for a great job replacing our three HVAC systems in our home. I've been in the commercial HVAC business for 39 years in another state prior to retirement. I interviewed four companies for our project. John personally walked our home with me, gave some great suggestions, and was competitive with his pricing. The JNL crew showed up on time and completed the project ahead of schedule. That's about all you can ask for. I'm very comfortable recommending JNL to all that are are looking at them for a solution. read more

During the process of renovating a foreclosure that required a new furnace and A/C unit some of our other changes created challenges with the HVAC due to removing walls, moving bathrooms, etc. Kurt spent over an hour with myself and the contractor to work through the issue and solve it with as minimal impact as possible. Once his team was onsite they worked quickly and did a professional job. Putting it all together. Looking forward to getting the house soon to take advantage of their efforts. Additionally I quoted several companies and JNL Climate Control was competitive on price as well. read more

Approximately 2-years ago, we bid out and interviewed a number of contractors before deciding on JNL Climate Control to replace our existing furnace. To say that the experience was first class would be an understatement: the bid was very competitive; the working team very professional with every aspect; work done on time; and if I had any questions, the owner, John was ALWAYS available. Since that time I have had JNL come out for the annual maintenance review and to ask that they rebalance the air flow. On every occasion, I was able to engage with John and he always responded professionally and accommodating in every way. I give JNL 5-stars all the way and highly recommend (in fact, I have recommended to friends and neighbors). One of the best decisions I have made on my not so new home. read more

Had my whole house done, over 7000 square feet and 4 units (2 A/C and 2 Furnaces). Did not have a squeak or rattle ever, everything worked perfect for the 8 years I lived there. Kurt helped with the project and was not just competitive on the price, but fantastic on following up to make sure all went well. I have since downsized to a much smaller house and just had JNL out to clean and adjust these units, they were right on time, very thorough and clean. Great family run business that cares about what they do and doing it right! read more

Wow! Talking about fast. I called for service at 4:17PM, Randy (awesome technician) was here by 5PM and my furnace was fixed by 6PM. That was amazing. I thought we were going to spend a night in a cold house but it's nice and warm. Karen from the office was very nice and professional. We got few tips from Randy how to make sure we don't have the same problem again, then he cleaned our furnace as it wasn't cleaned since we got it 6 years ago. I would totally recommend them to my friends and family. I facebook-ed them - they are first on my list when it comes to heating and cooling! Oh, I almost forgot - they are very reasonably priced. I was expecting this to cost us a lot more :) read more

No fuss air conditioning repair. I called them about 9AM and they managed to schedule a visit, find parts and have our AC up and running by that afternoon. Everyone I dealt with was polite and knowledgable. I will definitely use them again if our AC ever has trouble. read more

Stop your search for a reliable, professional, reasonable, and honest HVAC company...you found it here with JNL. I had a 30 year + furnace and AC that I wanted to have looked at because I wanted to make sure that they were running efficiently and cleanly. They came out the summer of 2013 to check the pressures on my AC and assured me that they were where they needed to be. While they were here they checked the condition of my furnace after I had put in a new induction fan myself the previous winter, which also checked out OK. I had tried to get a certain company out prior to them who I always see advertised in the mailers who do HVAC in the Chicago area no matter what season it is...all 4 of them hint hint.. and they never showed up for the appointment that I had made and stayed home all day for. After I called to ask about the appointment they apologized and tried to reschedule for a week later. I called JNL,who I got as a reference to from a friend, and they were out the next day ON TIME!!! Fast forward to October 2015 and I felt it was time for a new furnace. John the owner came out for an estimate and was very helpful as far as providing options and explaining all of them. I ended up receiving several quotes as I changed my mind for a 2 stage furnace and AC replacement as well. I just got them both installed today by Andrew and Jason, the technicians, who were professional and did outstanding work. I couldn't be happier with the whole process and regret not replacing these sooner!! The new furnace is much quieter and provides a more even temperature..as I was told it would. I'm proud to say that I now have an "HVAC guy" I can depend on and recommend to family and friends...or anyone who asks for quality work. It's nice to know there are businesses out there that still pride themselves on quality over quantity...try JNL and give them a call to service or replace your units, you'll be happy you did. Trust me. read more

JNL is a great place to do business with. I had gotten a quote from them in my old house several years back, but opted to go with a different company. What a mistake! When I moved into my new home, there was no doubt who I planned to call for my HVAC needs....JNL for sure. They are one of the most customer oriented companies I've ever dealt with. When you deal with Kurt or his crew, you can tell they truly care about their customers' satisfaction. I would highly recommend JNL to anyone with heating or air conditioning needs. read more

Moved into an 8-yr old home and had furnaces and AC's cleaned and checked. They found a charred ignitor with exposed wires.Said I needed a new heat exchanger since it's not typical to find an ignitor in that condition. The heat exchaner is under warranty so the labor would be $800.A friend suggested I call Kurt at JNL and so he came out to take a look.He said he wanted his expert technician to come by and take a look. Andy came out & said an extra screen in the ceiling of the furnace room may be interrupting the proper air flow and that is confounded by the exterior furnace vent being very close to the top of the roof.ridge. He removed the extra screen and put in a new ignitor for about $300. I appreciate JNL didn't try to sell me a heat exchanger for more money. Fingers crossed for the winter! read more
