On December 9, 2025, JNL performed a maintenance check on our furnace. In January our furnace went out, because the ignition lighter needed cleaning. We were on vacation when the furnace went out. another company was doing work on our house at the time. They were able to get the furnace working at a cost of about $1,000. When we returned from vacation in February, I called JNL. I mistakenly told them the ignition lighter had to be replaced. Actually, the ignition was not replaced. It needed to be cleaned. JNL would not come to check my furnace unless I paid them for a service call. Later, I sent JNL an invoice from the other company showing that the furnace went out because the ignition lighter needed cleaning. JNL would still do nothing. read more

Will never, EVER use JNL again. Scheduled a routine furnace checkup despite the fact the system was running fine. Tech told me my furnace needed a new ignitor and he had a generic one in his truck for, "four ninety-five." When it came time to pay the bill the ignitor replacement was $496.00. The absolute MOST expensive OEM ignitor I could find ANYWHERE on the web for my brand furnace is $112.95 delivered. When I complained about the cost the tech said he could call his manager to see what night be done, and that's when I knew I was getting ripped, because reputable dealers will stand by their price. read more

Purchased a Furnace and AC from JNL 17 or 18 years ago and have used them for Maintenance Tune-ups and the like. Their service has always been good, but have found out recently that they charge exorbitantly for simple parts. Had a maintenance contract with them and recently got charged $199 for a $20 capacitor. Could understand $199 if the price included the trip charge, but I had already paid for a maintenance contract. Had the same experience with a furnace part in the winter. Just got off the phone with a representative from JNL following up on my bad review. They can't justify charging $199 for a $20 part, so instead they were very argumentative and rude and said they don't want me as a customer. read more

Kevin just left my house right now at 10pm. Around 7pm I noticed the house was chilly, checked the thermostat and it was 60 degrees and the vents all had cold air blowing out. Googled, tried some things myself (changed filter, turn the furnace off and on), nothing worked do I checked my local Everything Hoffman Estates facebook group for recommendations and tons of people were singing praises for JNL. Called the 24/7 line, talked to Jackie, she had the technician Kevin call me back 5 min later, Kevin was then at my door 45 min later, quickly diagnosed the problem, swapped the part to something that will get me heat tonight and will come by with the correct part in the morning. Unbelievable service from JNL! I called JNL right when they opened the day before Christmas Eve to place a service call. My moms furnace went out in -36 degree weather & JNL was on site within an hour. Placing the call was absolutely seamless and easy. The mechanic they sent was fantastic and had the issue diagnosed and repaired with parts that were already stocked in his truck within 45 minutes. Another great review for JNL here. Our a/c broke on a Monday. It was 25 years old so we had no interest in repairing it. After a different company quoted for the wrong tonnage and no new refrigerant line, no coil casing, no new foundation for the unit and a lesser brand for $4700, we called JNL. John (President) came out that Saturday morning and thoroughly explained each step and item we needed. He also looked at our thermostat and we found the old old thing did not support our newer two stage furnace to begin with. Monday we got our quote and with all the extra work it came in $1000 less for a better reviewed brand in the right tonnage with all the 'extras' above. Wow! Then they were able to schedule us for Wednesday morning (and the temps were getting to the 90s by that Friday so we needed it fast). They showed up on time and did a professional job, also installed a new thermostat we ordered. JNL will get your permit for you and files all the ComEd rebates on your behalf, so your invoiced price already has the discounts (no waiting for a ComEd check!). Very pleased with the furnace and AC unit JNL installed for me last February. I worked with Kurt on selecting the unit and he worked with me to find the unit I wanted at a price point I was looking for. The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. They started by laying tarps on my floors from the door to the basement where the unit was being installed. They were very carful with my house when removing the old furnace and brining in the new one. I have a finished basement and the unit was being installed in an enclosed area so they had to work around the walls and such. They did a great job getting the old unit out and the new unit in without any damage to my walls. I also needed to have the AC lines routed up and over some ducting and they were able to get it exactly they way I wanted it. As for the unit itself, I am very pleased with the performance and comfort of the new system. The furnace is an american standard gold serious variable speed unit and the AC condenser is a single stage unit. For our house, and needs, the comfort is perfect. The furnace is very quiet and when it's on the low speed you can hardly hear it running. The AC unit was installed on a pad, previously it was hung off the house. Having the unit on the pad reduced the sound of the AC condenser quite a bit. Overall, I am very happy with the work JNL did. I would definitely use them again! read more

Wow! Talking about fast. I called for service at 4:17PM, Randy (awesome technician) was here by 5PM and my furnace was fixed by 6PM. That was amazing. I thought we were going to spend a night in a cold house but it's nice and warm. Karen from the office was very nice and professional. We got few tips from Randy how to make sure we don't have the same problem again, then he cleaned our furnace as it wasn't cleaned since we got it 6 years ago. I had a 30 year + furnace and AC that I wanted to have looked at because I wanted to make sure that they were running efficiently and cleanly. They came out the summer of 2013 to check the pressures on my AC and assured me that they were where they needed to be. While they were here they checked the condition of my furnace after I had put in a new induction fan myself the previous winter, which also checked out OK. I had tried to get a certain company out prior to them who I always see advertised in the mailers who do HVAC in the Chicago area no matter what season it is...all 4 of them hint hint.. and they never showed up for the appointment that I had made and stayed home all day for. After I called to ask about the appointment they apologized and tried to reschedule for a week later. I called JNL,who I got as a reference to from a friend, and they were out the next day ON TIME!!! Fast forward to October 2015 and I felt it was time for a new furnace. John the owner came out for an estimate and was very helpful as far as providing options and explaining all of them. I ended up receiving several quotes as I changed my mind for a 2 stage furnace and AC replacement as well. I just got them both installed today by Andrew and Jason, the technicians, who were professional and did outstanding work. I couldn't be happier with the whole process and regret not replacing these sooner!! The new furnace is much quieter and provides a more even temperature..as I was told it would. I'm proud to say that I now have an "HVAC guy" I can depend on and recommend to family and friends...or anyone who asks for quality work. Moved into an 8-yr old home and had furnaces and AC's cleaned and checked. They found a charred ignitor with exposed wires.Said I needed a new heat exchanger since it's not typical to find an ignitor in that condition. The heat exchaner is under warranty so the labor would be $800.A friend suggested I call Kurt at JNL and so he came out to take a look.He said he wanted his expert technician to come by and take a look. Andy came out & said an extra screen in the ceiling of the furnace room may be interrupting the proper air flow and that is confounded by the exterior furnace vent being very close to the top of the roof.ridge. He removed the extra screen and put in a new ignitor for about $300. I appreciate JNL didn't try to sell me a heat exchanger for more money. Fingers crossed for the winter! read more
