We are extremely happy with the service we received from Gold Shield. They were able to come and upgrade our electrical panel soon after we called. Art did an initial consult, then Bryan Beltran (text said that's his name) and another man came and spent most of the day fixing our nearly 60 year old panel. They were respectful to us and our home, and did a great job. We called back because of a flickering kitchen light and Art came over to check everything. It was nothing wrong with their work we just need a new fixture- ours is probably 60 years old and probably went out with the upgrade because it's a new panel and old fixture. This is the second time I have used this company and so far each time been impressed by the depth and breadth of their expertise and professionalism. They don't gouge and so far did good. This past summer another company came to fix our broken down air conditioning unit and offered a new unit as the solution. Good shield team cleaned up the unit, identified what needed fixing, did that and it's been working all summer. So even if it eventually dies, I know whom to trust. Can't beat 300 over 5k. Today Jon was extremely detailed in his analysis of the issue. Shared with us the problem plus the solution sand have us realistic expectation of the furnace through this winter. I just can't say thank you enough! My AC went out before a very hot muggy weekend. I called at 7 am and I had an appointment within hours. Rob came out and discovered that the issue wasn't a failing compressor (which was my biggest concern). He fixed the issue and went above and beyond a service call. We scheduled an appointment for an estimate on Monday, November 14th for a window between 8-10am. No one showed up for the appointment. When I called I was told that there were computer and phone issues and appointments had been moved around. I understand technology can be difficult, but I was extremely disappointed since we had scheduled 1.5 weeks in advance and I took the day off from work so we could have estimates for getting electric to our outdoor woodshed, upgrading our dryer hookups to electric, and upgrading our electric panel amongst some other outlet/switch work. I'm sure their work is excellent based on their reviews and this may have been a fluke, but it may be beneficial for homeowners to confirm their appointment the day before so this doesn't happen in the future.​ read more

Gold Shield Service came out to perform an annual tuneup on my furnace and to diagnose the strange noise coming from it. I feel that Eric from Gold Shield, left the place clean and did a meticulous job at performing the tune up. He was also able to resolve the noise issue and took pictures for me to see the work performed in various stages. He was also very patient at answering any questions and making sure I understood the answers. Art was as friendly and professional as could be. We asked for a quote for repairing our old AC unit, and after a thorough inspection Art let us know that the thing was D.O.A. (which we were already anticipating - the thing was ancient and breaking down pretty much constantly). So we requested a quote for replacement which he produced within 5 minutes. The quote was well within what I had expected through my internet research, and we scheduled him to return the following weekend (oh - and he works on the weekend!). The installation process went perfectly - Art and his worker were respectful and took care of our property, even looking out for our curious kitties who wanted to check out the goings-ons. When the process was finished, Art gave us a tour of all the new hardware, showed us how to program our new thermostat, and when the bill was settled, it was $100 less than the quote we received! :) All-in-all, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend ANC, and I will personally be contacting them again for our HVAC and electrical needs. I just bought a Nissan leaf and needed a 220 outlet and installation of a charging station in my garage. I ended up hiring these guys through amazon. They examined the charger determine the wiring from the service box to the garage wouldn't handle amperage and had to draw a new wire to my garage and install a new 220 outlet. All together they did a fantastic job and would hire this company again. read more

They were very friendly and did a great job. The light replacement was a smooth process and at no point did have me concerned. In fact there was a small wasp nest forming in the fixture area and they removed them for me. That was not expected but much appreciated so the work could be finished. Price was fair but a little high, however the location of the bulbs did require a scaffold. Which by nature is a pain. So I give them 5 stars because they did a great job and exceeded my expectations. read more

Was looking to replace my furnace. I setup an appointment for someone to come out and give me an estimate. The gentleman, Rob, was nice and professional. Took the time to explain my setup, and gave me a quote on two units, that I had previously priced out with a competitor. The price of both units quoted was about $1000 less than the other company. Looked great. Then I talked to my friends brother in-law who has been in the business for 18 years. He told me a) be careful with companies that are Mechanical, as they have a preference for commercial business over residential businesses. and b) The warranty. This is what caused me to go with another company. Most reputable companies offer a 10 year parts / 10 year labor warranty. This is where ANC fails big time. 1 year labor on the warranty. No thanks. I was almost ready to pull the trigger given the price they gave me. But seeing that weak warranty, there was a reason the price was so low. Basically after a year, this company can charge you what ever they want for labor, as you are no longer covered. I ended up spending a little more money, for a 10 year labor/parts warranty with another company. Be careful with the price folks. read more

It has been about 6 months since my A/C went out, I contacted 3 reputable company's in my area of Plainfield and ANC Mechanical of Chicago. For the 3 from my area 1 never showed for the appointment. Second was somewhat difficult to understand (English not first language) he was nice but it was a long and painful sales pitch. The third company the owner showed and was professional, informative and friendly...tuff act to follow. One thing I did before all these appointments was a bit of research so I knew what needed to be done. Finally the last appointment was with Art from ANC. Art called to see if he could be a bit early which was fine, it was a Sunday and the fact he was able to come out was great. I wasted no time in explaining what I was looking and expected to be done and Art wasted no time listening and telling me my request was not a problem. He looked over my system, size of my house and my special requests and made some notes. After retreating to his vehicle for 10 mins he came back with his proposal, which was explained in details and with reason. One thing Art pointed out the others did not was the size of my current until was small compared to the size of my house, and recommended a 1 ton bigger unit. After all was explained he presented a quote several thousands less then the others. A bit cautious, but also excited I said yes to him and he scheduled installation for Tuesday....Great! Tuesday his two guys show up also very professional, experienced and explained again the work and they went to work. Now I could explain all the great things about Art and what his guys did but take my word....it is not a rip off, he is not BS and they did great work for WAY less then the others. My unit was great AND I did see a lower electric bill with the bigger unit because it did not have to work as hard as the smaller unit. I highly recommend ANC Mechanical!!!! read more

This was the best experience I've ever had with this sort of service. I had no dining room lights for 2 months due to a fan that started sparking. It turned out that the previous owner had a handy man install the fan and he screwed up the electrical wires resulting in the issue. Artem and his co-worker fixed the problem and even helped take the fan away, since it was not usuable and replaced with a new fixture I bought.
