We hired R Core Electric to do two jobs in our home: install recessed lighting in 2 rooms and…read moreinstall an electrical sub-panel + charger for our electric vehicle in our garage. The job itself was fine. They completed the work and everything seems to be ok. So why the 1-star rating: My issue with R Core is that we specifically asked them to pull a permit for the job they were doing. They charged us for said permit and told us they did. An inspector never came out to confirm the work. I reached out to R Core several times asking when an inspector would come out and I got no response. Finally I went online and searched our address to see if a permit was pulled and there is NO record of a permit being pulled for this job. I reached out again to RCore several times requesting a refund for the permit charge and they never responded. I find this very shady and I'm very upset that they charged me to pull a permit and didn't actually pull it. And that they have not responded to any of my emails. I also tried calling Roman directly and he never returned my calls either. I will never do business with them again.

I recently worked with Chris from Grant Electrical and Professional Services on a lighting project…read morein my home. We installed new ceiling LEDs and Lutron Caseta HomeKit smart dimmers, finally bringing much-needed light to two bedrooms. I used the Yelp Project tool to find multiple professionals in my area. Chris stood out for his attentiveness and follow-up to ensure he adequately quoted and understood my project needs. Working with Chris was fantastic. Scheduling his time was simple, and he treated my home with care. I felt fully informed throughout the layout, wiring, and installation process. When one of the fixtures I provided for the project turned out to be defective, Chris took the time to troubleshoot the issue properly and returned for a second visit to finish the project once I received my replacement fixtures. He even ran a new line when we discovered the original builder installed one of my switches without any existing electrical wiring! It's great to encounter individuals who demonstrate professional integrity and are passionate about their work. Chris and Grant Electrical exceeded my expectations. Chris completed my project to a high standard and left my home immaculate, as if he had never been there. I appreciated this, mainly because some work occurred in my two-year-old's bedroom. I am more than satisfied with the outcome and would enthusiastically recommend Chris for any project. I plan to call him again for my next project.

We are very satisfied and would highly recommend him for complex jobs on old houses where you don't trust just anyone to do the work.

He quickly returned my call and was onsite within an hour. He determined that the microwave was not installed properly, needed to have its own dedicated breaker, and was not grounded properly. As he worked to address the issue, he uncovered several other issues with the electrical setup for the kitchen. For each issue he showed it to me, explained why it was unsafe, and presented a several options on how to proceed. While making the repairs, he discovered several electrical boxes hidden behind drywall & tile, which he needed to gain access to in order to complete the repairs. Before he made each cut he gained my approval and every spot he opened up he gained access to hidden boxes. He did not make any unnecessary cuts in the wall! Overall, Eddie was truly amazing and I would work with him again if I ever needed anything. I really appreciated how he showed and explained everything he found, as well as laying out the multiple remediation plans. He is extremely passionate about his work and it is reflected in his expert craftmanship.

To this day my wife and I are not sure what he actually did. And unfortunately, I was injured at the time he did the work so it was difficult for me to check what he was doing - which in hindsight I think he took advantage of. He told us the light bulbs he was putting on the ceiling fixture above the basement stairs (nearly impossible for us to replace ourselves) would last 10 years. They're already out!!! He was supposed to remove an ugly fixture in my office and replace it with a new one. He replaced the bulbs only!!! He was supposed to put up new fixtures in my garage and fix a couple of the other fixtures. He replaced bulbs in one fixture only and never put up new ones!!! To this day we have no idea what he did in the garage. He was supposed to put in a certain type of split heating cooling system designed for the square footage of my garage. When I checked the part of the one he put in, it wasn't even strong enough to cover the square footage of the garage and does nothing!!! To add insult to injury my wife caught him lingering about our yard AFTER HE WAS DONE AND LEFT! Very strange. So did he charge me less after all this. Nope. Same price. Again, I was "couch ridden" at the time and so could not check anything he was doing. DO NOT HIRE THIS GUY!
