Jennifer was an absolute savior for a last minute 50th birthday I hosted for a friend. I reached out less than two weeks before the event and she was so professional from every touch point, responding quickly, clearly and with fair pricing. The day of she showed up for setup two hours before guests, set out all my decorations, plated our charcuterie table, stocked the bar, even helped us figure out cocktail table locations and move furniture when we changed the plan. I was able to step away to get ready and came back to everything being perfectly set. Her service was impeccable handling restock of our appetizers, tray passing others and handling the birthday cake. The bar was 10/10 with real glassware and stellar martinis and margaritas, all with homemade syrups and beautifully garnished. The whole team was a delight. I really only want to work with her on special events from now on. It took all the stress of hosting away and allowed us to enjoy the party. We heard nothing but rave reviews from guests. She's being black-listed by the credit card company and additional financial institutions based on her fraudulent conduct. My lawyer is mounting lawsuit for small claims court as I type. DETAILS: Hired her to provide bartender and support materials (tables/cups/mixers, etc) for large social gathering. Signed agreement, made initial payment then final just before day of event. 2-hours prior to event start, she calls me saying bartender was in auto accident, car with supplies is not drivable, and that I'll need to solve the matter myself. I specifically confirmed that I would get full refund. She said yes. Has ghosted since. No return correspondence based on emails, texts, voicemails, etc. Based on other reviews on YELP this appears to be pattern. Dishonest opportunist is how I would describe her. Eventually this will catch up to her and I plan to contribute substantially in those efforts. read more

We had our wedding September 2023 & JM Event Planning & Production staffed our servers and bartenders. An amazing team! They were professional, organized, friendly, & think 10-steps ahead. The planning process was wonderful as Jennifer and her team thought of all aspects of our venue and event to ensure smooth transitions and positive experience for our guests. The event itself went off without a hitch. We had so many guests take time to share with us after our wedding how fun and friendly JM Events staff were. I could tell from our first meeting that their team had a good handle of their responsibilities, as they anticipated and planned for everything. Especially possible incidences my novice non-planner self could have never foreseen. I recommend them for all events. They saved me from all worry and anxiety on our wedding day. read more

If you are even a little nervous about the handful of 1 star reviews - it's a sign. I would give negative stars if Yelp was willing. This review is so delayed from my wedding in 2022 but here it is. This is a dishonest company providing inadequate service led by an unresponsive owner. I used JM for my wedding and she not only violated our contract by not providing the appropriate number of staff and failed to provide the complete services, but she proceeded to ignore and dodge our calls, messages, emails. Staffing: Despite agreeing to a contract in which she said she would be present to oversee the day along with 4 others, she did not show up and then sent 3. So a team of 5, down to 3 .. for 120 guests. Basic bussing: I flagged that the rental utensils/plates needed to be scraped (not even cleaned) and she agreed. The rental items still had food attached to them. Utensils were not cleaned. They were simply piled and left in the Venue's kitchen. The kitchen was left absolutely trashed. Me, my new husband, and my parents spent over an hour the day after their wedding cleaning up the Venue, doing the job that we had paid for her staff to do. Water(!!): My contract stated that the staff would provide water service.. literally just fill my guests water. Many of my guests said they had the most difficult time getting anyone to bring them water. All in all, please do yourself a favor and hire another company. read more

Stay away from this business. If I could add a negative star, I would. We paid our deposit, setup the 1st call to kick things off and she disappeared. Didn't call into the 1st kick off call, didn't respond to follow up outreach: text messages, emails, DM on social media, calls - nothing. We were at first worried something may have happened to her, but no one from her team connected or sent an email to explain. We have not been able to get a reply to get our deposit back and she's completed zero work on our wedding - it's puzzling...just take our money and disappear. read more

I had a terrible experience with Jennifer. I hired Jennifer to be my wedding planner and for the first few weeks she seemed great. When we had to postpone our wedding due to covid, she jumped right onto the rescheduling and spent a few weeks trying to get things lined up. After that, about four weeks before our rescheduled wedding date, Jennifer abruptly stopped communicating. She stopped responding to texts, emails, and phone calls, and she stopped following up with our vendors (without telling us). When I called or texted her to ask what was going on she did not respond. When I CCed her on communications I was picking up with vendors, she did not respond.  When I expressed concern for her, worried that something must have happened, she did not respond. This went on for two and a half weeks. When I saw her posting on Instagram I was left to assume that she had decided to just take our deposit and disappear.  I texted her repeatedly to express my dissatisfaction and only then did she send me an email making a few excuses and saying she felt we were not longer "a good fit". Even if this was the real issue - and I don't believe it was, because we had only positive interactions up until the moment of her disappearance, and other reviewers have said she similarly disappeared around this time - she should have notified us rather than disappearing. I have medical problems and my fiance is a busy professional, both of which jennifer knew. When she disappeared we had to spend countless hours planning our own wedding with two weeks left to go. This was immensely stressful, requiring that I postpone medical treatments and change travel plans, and in addition we lost vendors and had to spend extra money to pull everything together last-minute. To abruptly stop communicating, to not respond to our messages for two and a half weeks just before our wedding, to drop all communication with our vendors, and to only respond three weeks later when I asked for a refund, strikes me as extremely unethical and incredibly poor business practice read more

Jennifer was so kind and thoughtful, during my initial calls with her, she asked me all the right questions and thought of random little and important things that I would have never thought of. We worked with JM Event to hire staff at our wedding at a private estate. The process to go through staffing was difficult with Jennifer trying to tackle on additional workers/hours when we knew it wasn't necessary for our pizza buffet style reception. After much back and forth we settled and hired them. At the wedding a number of mishaps occurred during the reception, toasts and cake serving. Guests were receiving wine and champagne poured into their old cocktail glasses, the champagne flutes were only given to the wedding party (we ordered and addressed that the flutes be part of the table setting for each guest), so no one had champagne for the toasts, and after we cut the cake, the staff only cut the top cake and "served" to guests - which we found out that the served cake slices were behind the bar where no guests could see. We found the entire large bottom tier cake untouched in the fridge the following day and 30+ guests mention they never were offered/saw cake. What a waste. After the wedding, many comments from our guests described the staff as 'confused', 'didn't seem to know where things were or what they needed to do', and we were even asked if the staff were interns as they didn't appear professional. Lastly, initially Jennifer made it clear that she was the POI and would be at our wedding to run everything and we found out the next day that she wasn't even there and had a replacement without any notice to us or our wedding planner. Luckily the property manager and wedding coordinator we hired separately saved the day on a number of things. I would not recommend to anyone. read more

The unprofessionalism and thievery I have experienced with Jennifer Miranda is unacceptable and unethical putting it mildly. I paid a total of $750 for a few wait staff at my wedding. The event was cancelled and Jennifer has been completely unresponsive regarding a refund for which I have been asking for since January. I have called, left messages, sent texts and emails to no avail. My fiancé called and she answered on his first attempt, and made an excuse about the contract stating I cannot get any of my money back, which is Incorrect. She hung up with the promise of providing the documentation reflecting a non-refundable agreement and has yet to send anything. Also she will no longer answer either of our calls. I understand the deposit is not refundable, but the remaining balance should be refunded considering the fact the it was not due until the day of the wedding and I was being proactive paying the amount in full ahead of time. I had no issue reaching any other vendors, but I may need to go to small claims court to obtain a refund. read more
