What a great company! I have used Host Helpers numerous times and each time they pull through with flying colors! Sandra is very professional with talking about the event you need help with and helping guide toward the right amount of people needed for an event. On Christmas Day we had a family party of 33 guests. We had 2 host helpers. Pedja covered the bar (set up and organizing, prepping for specific cocktails) and Jenny helped with food prep, cooking/heating, food service in general. They came at 2:30 for a 4:00 party. This took so much pressure off my husband and I. At 6:00 we served the guests soup then salad using their dinner plate as a charger. Afterwards, the guests served themselves dinner buffet style. We used china and sterling but opted for pretty gold rimmed plastic rather than cocktail and wine glasses. Pedja and Jenny were very professional servers. I honestly have no idea what people were choosing to drink but we heard only compliments. They had the kitchen in order, left overs in containers and all the serving dishes, china and utensils cleaned up by the time we were done with post dinner games and ready for dessert. They were spectacular!! They stayed until 10pm, a time we'd agreed would be best to wrap things up. We will use host helpers again! read more

I've been using this company for 40 years. Sandra was excellent in coordinating event. Doug, our helper, was amazing. He was an exceptionally hard worker who knew what to do at every opportunity. A very nice, motivated, and responsible person. I will continue to use Host Helpers, and I highly recommend them. read more

Super job by Host Helpers helping us launch and host our annual pizza/pool party - manage the bar, pizza-oven, grill and serving food - keeping everyone well lubricated and fed to the gills. Looking forward to next year. A great summer-time pizza/pool bash! read more

They are incredible. The service they provide is first rate. They have very experienced staff for various needs when it comes to events. I've used them many times for different services they provide and have always been satisfied. They show up well dressed on time and are very personable. And it's a smaller company so you get a very intimate experience with the office and they always know and remember you. Definitely use them for any holiday or special occasion that comes your way. read more

I just used host helpers for my wedding celebration, we had 3 servers who were all incredibly sweet and helpful! They arrived when things were in complete chaos for me, we had to delay set up because of the weather, and they jumped in and handled everything so quickly! All of my guests loved them and thought they were so friendly. They checked in with me regularly to see if I needed anything and even offered to set timers for certain things since they knew I was so overwhelmed with everything going on around me! They were all dressed professionally, wore the attire we discussed and looked attractive and put together! 100% recommend them. Thank you so much for helping to make it a memorable evening! read more

I have been using Host Helpers for several years and have never been disappointed. They return my calls and emails promptly and always follow up with the booking when it gets close to the event. After so many years of using them there are a few helpers I request, but when they are not available, I am always happy with who they send. From small to large gatherings, it makes entertaining so much easier and lets me enjoy my guests. read more

Host Helpers provided us with two very professional Party helpers who not only did as needed but took charge of making everything work out perfectly. Definitely worth it. I will use again for sure. read more

I have tried using their servers twice. They were terrible both times. They stood around looking bored, talking on their phones and didn't seem to know what to do. I received only attitude. Save yourself the stress and the money and find your servers elsewhere. read more

I ordered one helper for a family gathering on Christmas Eve this year. The order was confirmed, the deposit paid, and the $55.00 per hour plus gratuity agreed to. Alas, the helper never appeared. About a half hour after she (Sylvia, according to the confirmation) was scheduled to arrive, I called Host Helpers and left a message marked urgent. A little while later I called again and left another "urgent" message. Thereafter I called their emergency number. Host Helpers did not respond to any of the three calls--I have not heard from them to date. It may be that the helper became ill, was in an accident, had an emergency, etc., and her nonappearance is therefore understandable. What is not understandable or excusable is Host Helper's negligence or incompetence or both. read more

I've used Host Helpers for decades. Their staff arrives on time and ready to roll. They always have a lead, who gets the lay of the land and BAM, puts everyone into action. Heat and pass appetizers. Set up and staff bar. Take coats. Help with buffet foods and replenish. And (SO grateful) clean up like there's no tomorrow. All leftovers wrapped and in fridge. Trash to the bin. Glassware and serving items washed. Tablecloths removed, tables put away. ... Note to clients: be prepared for their arrival. Have your list of jobs ready. Baking instructions for foods listed and taped to cabinet. Give them full access to your cupboards, drawers and cabinets to find whatever they need to do the job. Preheat the oven (mine so slow to heat up, I forgot to preheat). Have lots of kitchen towels. And book enough time after the party for a really good cleanup. read more

Wonderful help. Professional people who can lend you extra pairs of hands when you desperately need them. Thank you.

Host Helpers is amazing in every way! I've used them for a couple of parties and can't rave enough about them! Crystal is fantastic - immediately responsive and very detailed and a good listener to determine what you need for your event. I recently hosted a party with about 25 people, and asked them to send me an "all-around" who could set up, serve, tend bar, and clean up. My leg is broken, so I really couldn't help in any way. They sent over Aaron, who was PHENOMENAL!!! He did everything! Was very intuitive and needed only to know where things were and he figured out the rest and did an absolutely beautiful job! And super friendly as well. Same level of quality with a different guy when I hosted a party 3 years ago. They are very consistent and only have great people working for them. Also great if you need to hire someone last-minute! I would recommend Host Helpers all day long!!!!! read more

We hosted a pre-wedding party for my son and future daughter in law. We hired a French cater to make crepes and omelettes and they were outstanding. We also hired Abby from host helpers. She was absolutely fantastic!!!!!!! I highly recommend Abby and host helpers for any of your parties. read more

So disappointed in a no-show for Thanksgiving dinner. Additionally, no follow up calls to apologize or acknowledge. Will not be using or recommending this service in the future. read more

I threw a party for my wife's birthday and at the last minute, the server I hired, cancelled. Through a recommendation, I called Host Helpers. Sandra who answered the phone was excellent. She quickly identified my needs and was very personable. She was so good, I wanted to hire her for my business. The server they sent was Adele and she was excellent. On time, looked professional and was a great help. She was constantly busy. Towards the end of the night, she was happy to stay as long as we needed her. Very pleasant and has a great attitude, what more can you ask for? I wouldn't think twice about calling them in the future and I look forward to recommending them to whomever may need their services. My friend who recommended Host Helpers also highly recommended two servers who she had in the past. Unfortunately because I was calling at the last minute, they were not available. Apparently it doesn't mater who they send. All of Host Helpers must be great. Joey read more

The service is exceptional... my first time was last year when I threw a last minute party... they were seamless delightful cordial clean and had great ideas to help...In fact using them again in 2 weeks... won't throw a party with out them now read more

A terrific pleasant well experienced woman was sent out to help at our large dinner party for 25. My regular housekeeper was hired as well. The host helper deserves a five star rating, but the four star rating I listed was the surprise I had at the end of the evening when I was told that it was a 5 hour minimum not the 6 hour I understood it to be. For sure, I would have had her arrive an hour later as really not much to do prior to the guests arriving as all prep done in advance by me. At the high hourly price being charged along w/a 20% gratitude it adds up real fast. read more

Just needed a couple of bartenders for my son's wedding to make sure that the wine and champagne were handled properly. One bartender arrived very late, and wasn't present for my few instructions: Keep the pre-chilled champagne cold, and serve a bottle of champagne & Martinelli's to each table. Extra bottles were to be opened and available in provided tubs. But there I was with one warm glass of champagne :( And the bartender had the audacity to exclaim that he worked hard when he was given a very small tip! Obviously we have a different definition of work! Oh yeah, and the warm champagne wasn't due to a lack of ice since 120lbs. was left in the freezer! At least the self serve beer kegs from BevMo were successful! Wine pouring wasn't too bad, but really, how tough is it to open some bottles and pour?! read more

No matter what type of event I am organizing, Host Helpers always gets one of my first phone calls. HH was referred to me by a friend years ago and I have been using the company ever since. Whenever I need a bartender, server, setup crew, etc they always have professional and polite staffers show up at my events. I usually select a setup/server person, plus a bartender. Every time, the staff that is sent is polite and cordial to all my guests. read more

I had a great experience with Host Helpers this weekend. Lisa, our host helper was professional, capable and had a great eye for food presentation. I was able do cooking and prepping beforehand, and then relax and enjoy our party while she took over. She made my buffet tables look great, and made sure everything was stocked. And there was no mess to clean up the next day. It really made party throwing a joy. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend. read more

I recently July 13th, threw a 60th birthday celebration for my wife in Sherman Oaks. I asked for a really good female Bartender...Host Helpers sent me a young lady named Sarah who was truly gifted behind the bar...not only was she knowledgable in the many drinks we were providing (martinis, specialty drinks etc) but she was friendly attractive and cheerful. Great Job Sarah!! Our friends in Sherman Oaks who hosted the party will be calling on Host Helpers to help with their celebrations down the road. read more

I hosted a large party on April 6th and Jed w/ Host Helpers did a wonderful job for us. He was calm, efficient, gracious, hard-working, personable, and virtually always one-step (or more) ahead of me in terms of what needed doing. More than a couple people commented to me afterwards re: how nice he was and what a great help he was. (To quote my cousin, "When he pulled out the Windex to clean off the dining table..." that clinched it for her.) This was the first time I've used host helpers, and will definitely do so again and recommend them to others in the future. read more

They are wonderful! So helpful! They always make the party special and allow me to actually relax and enjoy myself! They are reasonably priced for the service they provide. Super professional. I would never use this company again-I asked for a server and received an inadequate person. I practically had to stay in the kitchen the entire time of my dinner party to help the server. My guests had to clear off the table because the server was so far behind in the kitchen trying to clean it up. Did not set up the dessert because too busy trying to clean. I was so upset and my guests could not believe that this person was set my a so called reputable company read more

I recently used Host Helpers for my Wedding reception, and all I can say is WOW! Thank you soo much Host Helpers for helping make my night a memory we will not ever forget! I didn't once have to ask for anything, It was just done! I wish the same could be said for the catering company we used.
