Worst experience EVER, don't bother with this guy or you'll regret it like we did. Mr. Bartender bailed on our event last minute without a word, leaving us to scramble for a backup the day of. I attached my messages back and forth with Mr. Bartender (who also operates under the name Los Angeles Mobile Bartender since Covid) to show you how amicable things were. I found them online when I was looking for drinks for our party. It slightly concerned me that he never provided his name, never responded via email and only communicated via Instagram, and he accepted Venmo as his only form of payment. I worried it might be a scam, but I decided not to worry so much, and trust it. HUGE mistake. After our exchange, he never showed up to make the delivery for the order we placed, and blocked me on social media for no apparent reason. Super bizarre, and beyond a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and hire for your event elsewhere!!! P.S. This page has a lot of 5 star reviews, but I wouldn't trust them. 8 years and countless events later, I am quite certain that Mr. Bartender is the best bartending service for hire in the Los Angeles area. Beyond the incredibly delicious and creative drinks already on their menu, Anthony and his team have always been eager and willing to work with me to create new creations whenever I've had a particular theme in mind for a party. A night in Santorini? Anthony came up with over a dozen cocktail options utilizing Mediterranean ingredients and spirits. An ode to Casablanca? A slew of drinks that would have been right at home in Rick's Café Américain. This past weekend, I hosted a friend's small backyard wedding and we settled on some signature Bride and Groom cocktails the couple couldn't have been happier with. The staff is always on time, courteous, and professional. I have never had any issues arise with anyone Anthony has deemed good enough to be a part of the Mr. Bartender team. We hired Mr. Bartender back in December for our company holiday party, and Matt (our bartender) was outstanding. He was personable, the drinks all tasted perfect, and he even ran out across the street to get extra alcohol for us because we ran out quicker than we expected. His service was exceptional! I love that Mr. Bartender offers a seasonal cocktail menu. All of their cocktails are so creative and delicious. You really can't go wrong with any of them. We also had the option to rename some of the seasonal cocktails to fit the theme of our party, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately I really cannot say the same for our booking experience. I completely understand this is a small business and they may be short-staffed, but I really think they should find a way to better manage clients and booking requests. We were frantically trying to get an invoice from Anthony and his team before the event - we made several calls and sent multiple reminder emails. It was extremely stressful for myself and our event planner because we weren't even sure if we had actually booked them yet since we hadn't paid for anything. We received the invoice ONE day before the event (12/7), even though we had completed the booking form back in November. Today I received an invoice for the tip, which was intended to be paid in December 2021 (it is now March 2022), and I was honestly taken aback that it still hadn't been charged yet. I also felt extremely bad for our bartender, Matt, who probably didn't receive a tip at all after our event because it is just getting charged NOW. This is over 3 months later...Like I said, I can totally empathize with the fact that they may be short-staffed and busy, but there is always room for improvement. Overall, I think Mr. Bartender makes great drinks and they provide a wonderful service. Their bartenders are professional, dressed appropriately, and leave a wonderful lasting impression on guests, BUT they definitely need more work on the backend side of the business, whether it's hiring someone to manage and respond to emails in a timely manner, or someone who can manage the bookkeeping and invoices. Although I definitely would love to hire Mr. Bartender again solely for their drinks and bartenders, I sincerely hope that this booking process can be fixed to be much more efficient and professional. read more

It was incredibly convenient to hire the staff AND rent the bars from the same place. We wanted our friends to experience craft cocktails like we love from our favorite bars, without having to go to a bar... What we got were unbelievable cocktails that were better than the cocktails we get from our favorite bars! Absolutely blown away with the attention to detail, execution and service. Second time I called them had it agreed with the owner of the company and he said fill out a form I said will get it to you using you for sure then I was 12 hours late on sending form bc it wouldn't download on my phone and they said they could not accommodate. Sooooo Disappointed......peeved and upset. Hired them for my wedding. We had two bartenders due to the recommendation that our craft cocktails would take a little more time than your average drink. So we figured, that makes sense. After all, we didn't want our guests waiting in line for too long. We had 3 craft/signature drinks along with beer and wine. The bartenders took anywhere from 4-5 minutes per drink. It was ridiculous, especially because: 1. The cocktails truly were not complicated. 2. I provided the recipes at least 2 weeks prior to my event. 3. They had the recipes in front of them. 4. There were only 3 drinks to make. 5. There were two bartenders on site. We also purchased cute straws for our cocktails and only 1/2 of them were used. Having had to deal with all of the stress that comes with a wedding, I was really looking forward to having one of my signature cocktails at my wedding. Unfortunately it took forever to get it...oh and it didn't taste the way it should have. This was due to the owner suggesting that I use club soda instead of sprite and neglecting to remind me that I needed to add a sweetener like agave to balance the drink out. It did cross my mind, but I just let it go. I should've gone with my gut. When I tasted my drink, it was lacking a lot of flavor because there was no sweetness to it. I had to tell the bartenders to stop using the club soda because I didn't have any sweeteners for the drinks. Luckily we had some Sprite available for our guests who just wanted soda. I asked the bartenders to use the sprite in the cocktails instead of the club soda. I don't know if they used it or not. Although the bartenders weren't as quick as we expected or wanted them to be, they were very friendly. It's just so upsetting to be disappointed on your wedding day, after all the money and planning you've put into it. read more

Worst service from a company I've ever hired. Any negative review on this Yelp page you should read how they respond to customers. Anthony the owner replied to my comment and it's actually shocking reading a response of such from an owner. I fully appreciate the apology from the lead. We just wanted to make sure they knew we had several complaints through the night. To have an owner state he didn't feel she should even apologize speaks volume. Our frustration and review was to let this company know things need to be different. the OWNER decided to get political and form accusations. For example he insinuated our family and friends are BIGOTS for not liking their service from their lead. Of which I never asked nor knew how she identified or her sexual orientation only commented on her professionalism. Not to point out we had queer guests & family members there so his comment is irrelevant. As far as the comment about the chant at our wedding from a guest- we did not ask for it to happen, we addressed our issue with the guest after stating we did not appreciate the comment. and if you have a problem with political beliefs I recommended you state these issues on your site. No way you'll ever get business after stating something like that on your page that your anger came from political beliefs. You should know better. Find another profession if that's your case, or don't make accusations and claim to be inclusive of all. If that should tell you anything at all. I really appreciated that bartender, and he was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to help me during that event. It was a stressful time for me, and he calmed me down. The most recent event was different, though. The bartender we worked with was actively unfriendly, which was a problem not just for me but for my guests. She could've been having an off night -- it happens! -- but I was really surprised by it. She arrived early, which was great, but then was incredibly brusque, not friendly, and I had to ask a lot of direct questions to make sure she had everything she needed and that we were in good working order. Anthony was extremely responsive and helpful from the very beginning. He helped me put together a 20's themed cocktail menu that would appeal to a variety of tastes AND keep my shopping list to a minimum. I had him do all of the shopping as well which I also hugely recommend (hassle free!). On to our bartender Danny - he was incredible. He was on time, set up the bar and had everything ready to roll with little to no questions. He was really accommodating when it came to drink requests and offered to run to the store when we found ourselves running low on one alcohol. He even went out of his way to track me down if I asked for a drink and then accidentally wandered away due to hosting needs. Multiple times. =\ He broke everything down and cleaned up the whole area so there was nothing I had to deal with later. So great. We had approximately 30 people and our bartender Jake was very efficient at making complex and delicious drinks for our guests... the bar was the center of the party. We love Mr. Bartender! My wife and I recently hired them for our casual wedding reception of 160 guests. Anthony was very responsive, and helped us pick out some signature cocktails that were AMAZING. We went with a classic Manhattan and the Juan Draper - the big hit of the night. They provided us with a shopping list that was pretty accurate with our headcount (we ended up with fewer guests than originally quoted, but I'm not complaining about a having few extra bottles of rye on hand). I would recommend you consider paying the extra charge to have them do the shopping, as the supplies can fill a car pretty fast. The bartenders showed up on time and happy. All I had to do was tell them where to set up the bar, and they took care of everything else.
