They have never made a mistake on my order, either. The meat, bun and vegetables are almost always fresh. After trying their other 3 locations on memorial, FM529 and Mason road, I had to try out this location and sure enough, the quality of food and service was consistent. I went around 1pm and the restaurant was fairly full. However, the line was moving fast and orders were coming out, one after the other. As I had tried most of their burgers and sandwiches, this time I decided to upsize the patty and try the double meat hamburger combo. It was a whopping size burger, with meat on every angle/corner. Somehow I was able to hold the burger together and bite into it. Despite my repeated attempts, I wasn't able to prevent the patties from falling out of burger. It was so much meat in it. The burger itself was absolutely delicious. They always stack their meat on top of the veggies, unlike the traditional style of where the veggies are put on top of the patties. The French fries were golden brown, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection. I had an ice tea with my order and there was plenty of it. About 6 weeks ago, I had the pleasure of eating at the Katy location of Joy Love. While it's a very small restaurant both the menu and food were big in satisfaction. Last week, I visited this location for lunch which is closer to where I live. First of all, this restaurant is much larger with seating for about 50 people sitting at round tables seating 4 each. Located in a large shopping center, parking is easy. I ordered the Angus burger combo that comes with fries and a drink for $9.69 with tax. They also agreed to grill my onions at no extra charge which is a plus. The food came out in about 10 minutes as it's cooked to order. When looking at the burger the first thing that jumps out at you is that beautiful house made bun. Dark in color with a shiny top it is gorgeous. Inside is a 1/2 lb. angus patty that is all you want for. Nicely dressed it was a pleasure to eat. This is a quality hamburger that will fill you up. My only slight complaint is that beautiful bun is just a little too bready for me. Not thick in texture but a little thicker in depth on the bottom half than I prefer. However it is a big burger so you decide. Don't get me wrong, I really liked the burger overall and will order it again. The generous serving of fries are frozen but some of the better frozen ones I have had. They have skin on them and are seasoned. Served hot, I enjoyed them. This is a seriously good quality angus burger with good fries at a low cost. The only reason I don't give a 5 is because of the bun thickness and lack of homemade fries. Currently Yelp is averaging 4.5 stars here and I think that's about right. I will be back to eat it again and try other good looking menu items. I understand that Joy Love is getting ready to open their third location somewhere on FM 1960. It will be a success and I hope they open more. read more

I came to this new Korean-owned mini Houston area chain, on a night when the Astros were playing Game 3 of the World Series. There were a lot of customers surprisingly, and maybe they didn't prepare that the night would be so busy because service was painstakingly slow just to receive your order. We tried a few items on the menu, the bacon avocado burger, beef quesadillas and fried shrimp plate. I only really liked the burger, but I assumed that was going to be the case from the start. The quesadillas were made with cheddar and tasted weird. The shrimp were just not very good either. Most customers seemed to order the burger, and for good reason. It's a good sized burger as far as width and overall height including the bun. The homemade bun and patty are shaped like an oval so it's just wide and seems bigger than it is. I'd say the patty was only about 1/3 lb, since it was pretty thin. The patty is fresh beef, and seasoned well....so they have that going for them. The iceberg lettuce and tomato are pretty standard. There was a generous amount of avocado on the burger though. I believe the cheese was American, since I forgot to switch to cheddar. They gave me fries by accident, since they don't normally come with the burgers, unless you order a combo. The burger was seasoned well, but I don't see myself coming to this burger spot on a regular basis. I think it will do well since it's still a tasty product. So this restaurant is fine and all. Food was okay. Fries are left to be desired. But not bad. It's really expensive. But what I have the most issue with: I got a cup of water and noticed some white pieces floating in it. Went and told the younger girl with glasses about it and she said she'd never seen it before and would look into it. For the remainder of the meal she didn't look into it. So when I was finished eating I looked at the Pepsi I was drinking (back off I ate clean all day) and noticed more floaty stuff in my drink. I presumed it was from the ice? Brought it up to her attention again and she still looked like she didn't care and said "she'd look into it". Now, with the prices they were charging if I found little pieces in my drinks I would comp the drinks immediately. Or offer some sort of "oh my I am so sorry let me grab the manager." She just didn't care. Not at all. So with the small bits of plastic I drank with my mea I won't be back. And if you do go, ask if it's fixed. No one wants that in their drinks. read more

So a few things to mention 1. Go very hungry. 2. Don't wear a white shirt or anything that will show how messy you are. 3. Get lots of napkins. Pro tip: order the kids combo it is plenty. Or plan on sharing the full size burger. Ok, enough with the basics. Food is fresh cooked on in house baked rolls. The fixens are fresh cut and tasty. The high price comes from the fact that they use angus beef and the portion size is huge. I got the "crazy" burger and could not finish it. I'm conflicted about Joy Love. Finally made it here after reading many positive reviews about their burgers. They are definitely up there in the burger ratings in Northwest Houston, but I'd actually keep them at 3.5 stars if I could -- there are just some nagging things that keep me from being totally enthusiastic. First, the positives. The burgers are definitely good, with a few caveats. Patty is nice and loose -- clearly hand-formed -- and pressed much thinner than the typical "Look How Thick our Burgers Are!" move. Great flavor, well-cooked, but maybe a bit overly greasy (if one is allowed to say this about a hamburger). Bun is nice, but overly sweet for my preference. Rest of my burger was relatively straight ahead (in a good way). You can crank up the cost with a couple of added options, but aren't forced to. Fries are fine, but that's the best I can say -- I'd currently place them slightly below average (this is after one visit, so asterisk this). As far as drinks -- my iced tea was good, but no Coke products (dudes -- this is Texas). Service was good and quick, and the menu is pretty large for such a smallish place. One minor but annoying quibble -- Joy Love encourages you to bus your own table (which I have no problems with), but their trash cans have little bitty openings, making the process far more painful and messy than necessary -- sort of like trying to jam a loaf of bread into a birdhouse opening. Hopefully, they'll fix this soon. Going to have to give JL another try to level out some of these ratings. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Oh... my gosh! These Are the best Angus burgers I have ever eaten. They are huge. You may not always be able to eat a regular size one by yourself. You might have to share it or maybe eat half of it and eat the other half a little later. The bread here is homemade and toasted to perfection! This specialty had a beef patty as well as a large portion of tenderized chicken. There was ample cheese to attempt to adhere those together. Not possible though. My tray has lingering fries, pieces of bun with drenched onions and lettuce strewn about, and lingering tidbits of beef and chicken that will never make it through my stomach...
