Hubs was craving some Asian food and I remembered that this was a new-ish offering in Woodbury…read more It's in the old Pei Wei space in Tamarack Village. They have turned this into "table" service, rather than order at the desk. Table service is ordering via QR code though. Hubs had sesame chicken, I ordered orange chicken, and we split chicken egg rolls. I also got a mango boba tea. Portions were pretty big, so we said we would split an entree next time. I definitely would skip the egg rolls next time, the wrap was a little too thick for me and lacked flavor. I'd also skip the boba and go elsewhere for that. Service was exceptionally quick. I would come back and try some different items or come at lunch for the specials.

NOT your every day Americanized Chinese. A very extensive menu. Legendary Dry Chili Chicken is AMAZING, Sole Fish Fillet Chili Bean Sauce or in Black Bean Sauce are delectable. Garlic Spinach is veggie heaven. They have the usual offerings too - General Tao, Kung Pao, Orange Chicken if you want to ease in to a new world of flavors. If you are unsure of your hot/spice tolerance, better start your order at Mild spiciness, their Medium can pack a really nice punch of spice heat and Szechuan pepper numbing.

We came a few minutes before noon (their opening time) on a Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend coming a bit early because they were already letting people in and by 12:30, there was a definite line and restaurant looked full. They had an area for tables that sat around 4 people and then a different area that held larger parties. Cost is $35.99/adult with tip and drinks a part of the price. Overall a great value. I honestly expected the place to be bigger but it is a nice sized restaurant. Parts of the buffet definitely had some congestion. The food we enjoyed: the stir fried lobster, the grilled oysters, pea shoots, and sashimi were our favorites. The boba ingredients and ice cream cooler were great. The kalbi was flavorful but the meat was a bit tough. Average: shrimp cocktail, soups, and standard Chinese stir fries. Freshly made crepes only included whipped cream. Misses: dungenous crabs were dry and old, dumplings were meh, cakes were dry. We saw but didn't taste: the noodle bar, Mongolian Bbq, drink bar, shaved ice, cotton candy. Lots of choices that are beyond the "typical " Chinese buffets. Service was great. She continually came by to clear our plates. Bathrooms are a bit small for a large restaurant. We would come again but it wasn't an OMG for us. Worth trying once though.

Instead of having to commit to a single roll, I enjoyed being able to try one of everything. Now for the Minnesota nice, yet honest, part of the review: I know how tricky temperature regulation is in a buffet, so I want to give grace, but unfortunately they failed. The cold things were actually cold (yay), but of the foods I tried, the ones that were supposed to be fried, like the wontons, were soggy and "hot" foods like rice, cheese sticks, and some of the meats were cold (prime rib, pork belly). The inside does feel upscale and I can see how it would be a nice place to go with a large group or if you want to eat more clams, crab, etc this could be a great spot, but unfortunately, we will likely not be back as we found the quality of most of the foods lacking.

I still lost things in my pot but they still tasted good even after cooking for 30 minutes! There are an impressive number meat, vegetable, seafood, tofu and other items that can be cooked in the hot pot or on the grill. And they are delivered by robot! The marinated meats are great. I also got a lot of vegetables from the salad bar to cook in the hot pot, which are a great complement to the grilled meats. The fruit on the salad bar was surprisingly ripe, even out of season. Creating your own sauce is also fun. I happened to go within 3 days of my birthday, so my meal was free. Amazing birthday deal!

As a vegan-leaning pescatarian, there were plenty of options- including several tofu styles. It's all you can eat, with a plot twist- if you take food you don't ear you may end up paying extra, which makes sense. There are plenty of sauces, sides and a few desserts all included. so much to eat- bring your appetite. It's a great place for a group -and at least when we were there the birthday girl or boy gets to eat free if there are two other adults with you. Enjoyable and tasty spot for a big meal.

One of those things must change to command those prices. They need to hire servers who are honestly younger and more efficient, and sorry if that is ageist, but for their price point, I've had multiple experiences where the elderly servers never check up after food is delivered and constantly tell me about their stress and how they need to get caught up to even cash me out or get a box (no apology for not being around for over 20 minutes) and I'm there to relax, not hear about your stress. If you can't handle the amount of tables you have, let management know so they staff better or get you things or check on tables themselves, but don't dump your stress on customers. It's unprofessional at any restaurant, let alone an expensive one. The food quality has also gone down over the years, the vegetable and potato of the day yesterday was inedible, and soups and salads are add ons instead of being included like all other nice steakhouses. I just can't keep rooting for this place and spending money here because it's just not worth the price for what you get and the service is so poor. Two stars for the cute ambiance.
