Eva was our server, and this was my wife and I's first time trying this restaurant. We attempted to try it another time, but sadly, it was not open for business. So we ordered crab Rangoon and spicy chicken appetizers. The apps were good; however, I could have done with less cream cheese. There was so much cream cheese in the crab Rangoon that you couldn't really taste the crab. I love the decor. The restaurant is decorated nicely but not over the top. For our entrees, my wife ordered the steak and shrimp hibachi, and I ordered the Incredible Roll and the King Dragon Roll. The entrees were perfect. Great service, reasonably priced, and great food. My wife and I are excited to return so we can try other items on the menu. read more

I love Japanese food, I lived in Japan and I can honestly say the fried rice is spot on but that's about it. Nothing else was really brag worthy or honestly worth going back for. Service was really sparse. Our waiter didn't really introduce himself or spend much time at our table, which is perfectly fine...but he just kept adding more and more to our small table top to the point we couldn't move. Extra dishes, extra yum yum sauce (which we don't like at all) extra glasses of water. It was just way too much for a 4 top with 5 people seated. Again, food was ok and nothing amazing, but it's good to have options here in Hudson. read more

This place is so nice. Three of us stopped in last week. We all had something different and shared. The three dishes were all fresh and delicious. I'm serious, because of this I am not sure what I will order next time. There definitely will be a next time. Oh and the service was epic. read more

Review update - still 4 stars! Where does the time go? It's been 4 years since I drove to Hudson and met my friend at Sapporo. Those were pandemic days. My Wisconsin friend and I met once a week to visit all of the restaurants in Hudson! It took one year. At the time, we were irritated that Sapporo was one of only 2 Hudson food places (out of over 50) that refused to let customers indoors. (The other restaurant was Dragon Pearl.) But the food was good. I'm over it now and we gave them another chance. (And this time, we got to see the inside of the building!) First of all, the restaurant itself is very beautiful, modern looking, and clean. The service was good...prompt, polite, and attentive. The prices seem reasonable too and in-line with similar places. Our food was very good. My friend got a stir fry and I ordered 3 styles of tuna based sushi rolls. My rolls were fresh and bursting with flavor. LOW CARBOHYDRATE: It was easy to eat low-carb, keto-style at Sapporo. I simply stuck with my usual tuna sushi rolls. These are fairly low-carb with a minimal amount of rice and a little bit of sea weed wrap. I avoid anything deep fried in gross vegetable seed oils or anything with added sugar. I also avoid large portions of rice and noodles. My blood sugar definitely likes it that way. So I can enjoy my favorite flavors without giant glucose spikes. Nice! Their food is very good, compared to other Japanese restaurants in the USA. They also do a good job worth their sushi. They always put the chopsticks into the napkin upside down: ie. The writing on the chopsticks is upside down. Looks so weird. We lived in Japan and visit often, so we are pickier than average customer. Who would have thought that one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever been to is in Hudson Wisconsin?! I came to the area on a work trip. My six coworkers and I, all came in starving after a long day of travel on a Friday night, were blown away with the amazing service from Eva! I was so hungry I didn't take a picture of the chicken hibachi dinner the first night we went, but it was so flavorful! I couldn't finish it all, but trust me I wanted to. We loved the food and service so much, we came back the following day. The second night I got two rolls pictured here, the Royal pink roll and the crazy Friday. So good! The sake martini was refreshing and paired perfectly with my sushi. Myself and my coworkers, definitely recommend this place and protip: ask to be in Eva's section! We are a little sad that this amazing restaurant isn't available to us at anytime back home in CA. We loved it here! read more

My favorite spot for great service and incredible food. Whenever my family's in town, we go to Sapporo. The restaurant can be crowded at times, but the dim lights and comfortable seating makes any table feel intimate. I've been a dedicated Angry Dragon roll girl for many years (I love the combination of creamy and crunchy), but I recently tried the BMW roll and I may need to switch my allegiance. If you've never had eel sauce, I'd say give it a try! It's salty, rather than fishy, and brings a deep umami flavor that makes each bite feel like a savory hug. There's not a single bad item on the menu, and I can guarantee there's something there for everyone. read more

Had an excellent experience with take out. Ordering online was a breeze and no credit card required at the time of the order. Food was being packed up right when I arrived so perfect timing! The best sushi in the area! My mother and I have eaten here 3 times in the past 6 months...that's saying something since I live in Sacramento and my mother lives an hour north of this restaurant. We have tried appetizers, nigiri, sushi rolls, and libations and have always been satisfied at the quality, freshness, and taste. A very nice sushi restaurant- with only one drawback. It only sells ubemaki sushi, so if you are looking for the full sushi experience, maybe give this one a pass. However, there are many different types of fish, so there is something for everybody. It is on the slightly expensive side, but for the quality of the sushi, it is well worth the visit. I have only been there once, but the place is amazing. I was taken there by a friend and would recommend this place to anyone looking to take a step up from gas station sushi. I find it very sketchy that when I placed my order it was $57.86. I gave a pretty generous tip considering it was food to go, so imagine my reaction to then being charged for an extra couple dollars to tip without my permission. Pretty sure it is also fraud. The foods were wonderful, we had different types of rolls and all of them are tasty, however, the hibachi dinner and beef soup wasn't that good. I love the caucasian waitress, she was one of the sweetest person/server I've known. A little annoying thing was that we had to ask the server if we can go inside and dine in because the rain was coming, she had to go ask the owner/ japanese guy 2,3 times to get us inside. I have now had two experiences with Sapporo. The first night my boyfriend and I (from Madison, WI) ate dinner on the patio. We were so happy they we're open for dining (pandemic and all). We were attended to promptly and our order was exactly as we had specified. We had both raw and cooked rolls. We made special requests and were amazed by the quality and affordability. Tonight I ordered take out for my self and a girlfriend I was meeting in Saint Paul. The staff clearly conveyed my special requests for the take out and had me down the road In no time.
