After multiple days of hotel complimentary breakfast, we were ready for something new and came across this wonderful local little dive. My son and I love bacon, egg, and cheese, and Jive Cafe knows how to do it right. The bagel was crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, it was also the ideal thickness. My husband ordered the Ruben Egg and it was delicious, the corn beef was tender, and the tangy sauerkraut and dressing made it come together for an explosion of flavor (his words exactly, lol). It is a small little dive with a local family feel. The service was quick and staff were very friendly!

Nice place just outside of Cooperstown. Alot of locals visit this place for good reason. My jalapeño bacon and egg sandwich was great. The bread really made it. The pancakes were really good with local maple syrup. Grab some coffee as well super fresh. Enjoy

We really enjoyed our breakfast here! Great and friendly customer service along with tasty food where it is clear they appreciate both their 'regular' customers, greeting them by name, and first timers like us. Highly recommend the egg breakfast sandwiches on ciabatta!

This is a great place for homemade fresh breakfast. The veggie egg sandwich is so fresh and tasty and the coffee is number 1. The staff is extremely friendly and accomadating. Dropped by this humble looking coffee shop without any expectations. It's tucked in a supermarket shopping plaza so I meandered in more out of convenience. The meals are what set this place apart. In having both a wrap and a breakfast sandwich on separate occasions, I give the food two enthusiastic thumbs up. The coffee is standard for a coffee shop. Good beans and properly brewed. Service is friendly and the workers are attentive. Only thing that might go against it is the price. Had a little sticker shock when paying over $9 for a wrap and then $7.50 for a sandwich with coffee the next day. But hey, you get what you pay for. Overall, I highly recommend this coffee shop as it is a welcome alternative to the fast food chains in the area. read more

So, I'm a "new" local and I thought I'd be slick and try this place as opposed to driving into Cooperstown and fighting the baseball tourist traffic at Stagecoach coffee. Lesson learned. It's small and was "busy" given its size. I ordered a large white chocolate mocha to go. The price was fair ($4); however, the girl making it advised she doesn't normally make them and then as she got started I was advised they were out of white chocolate syrup. Great. (Sarcasm) They have a very small array of other options (of which, none was appealing to me). So since I already paid and she already started the machine, I agreed to go with the "normal chocolate used for mochas" as the girl advised. As I suspected, it was bitter and required the addition of sugar. I also had to explain to her how to spray whipped cream (ya know, hold it down)....she had it sideways and made a mess (of herself, the surroundings, and the drink)....while this was a tad amusing, it was unacceptable for someone acting as a barista. So, for future reference, I shall mosey further north up 28 and on to fight the tourists at Stagecoach coffee. Perhaps I'll attempt this place again in the future, perhaps not. read more

Skipped on the continental breakfast next door at the Best Western to give this place a shot and it was WELL WORTH IT. I ordered a B.E.C. with egg whites on a roll. I expected a regular flat elegy white sandwich slapped into a poppy seed roll. However, I got this fulfilling, fluffy egg whites, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a delicious fresh soft roll. It was delicious. I definitely recommend skipping on the mediocre free breakfast, if you're staying in the Best Western, and paying a little more for a real wholesome breakfast/coffee spot. read more

I should give this 1 star because based on the other reviewers had only reviewed this place and no where else. It's nothing to look at. The people who own or work here seem less than thrilled about life. The menu is short - I ordered the "homemade" chicken salad - it was served WARM with some sort of flavored dressing - not mayo. Ughh. Not to mention the flies going around because they leave the door open. If you're going to ask friends/family to give your cafe 5 star reviews, back it with good food. read more

The Jive Cafe is a terrific spot. The different coffee and tea beverages available are incredible. They make a delicious iced mocha latte. The food menu is small but ample. Breakfast and lunch are available. Jimmy, the owner, is terrific and interacts with his customers as much as possible. The room is quite small and seating is limited but he does make it his priority to be sure that customers are comfortable and enjoy what they are eating and drinking. The staff is delightful, very kind and attentive. read more

Excellent coffee! Ordered omelettes, toast, and coffees. The omelettes were very large, light and fluffy. Very different from omelettes we usually eat. I had the western and enjoyed it my husband had the veggie and didn't finish it - which is very unusual. He felt it needed more cheese, and thought it was weird - not like an omelette at all. He liv2ed the bread though. He gives it a c+, i'd rate it a solid b. read more

Food was decent. It's very pricey. Four orders of pancakes, meat and cheese omelet, and five drinks it was 50$. Back home I would normally spend half of that for better food. I guess if your a fan of the cafe experience and don't mind spending the extra money this place might be for you. Next time i would rather go to McDonald's right next door. read more

Fantastic. Had the chicken salad melt. Delicious. I was nervous by the name but it was not what you expect from the title. It was marinated chicken (no mayo base) in a grilled (no oily melt) with spinach and tomatoes. I've been craving it ever since! read more

Stopped in for coffee and breakfast before heading to The Hall of Fame- the place was sparkling clean and the staff friendly- delicious ice coffee and my egg and veggie sandwich was enormous and delicious! There had to have been at least 3 eggs and loads of fresh veggies- it was so fresh and hot- all for $8 We will be back for breakfast tomorrow! read more

Great breakfast sandwiches and iced coffee! Very convenient when heading to a game! They also have free wifi while you re in the cafe. Definitely a go to while staying in Cooperstown for a week. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating- they do close at 3 so make sure to get in before time. read more

Great find! Super breakfast and lunch options - omelets, sandwiches (great Rueben), fresh baked cinnamon rolls, salads, good coffee shop too. Convenient to the ball fields. Very friendly owners/staff. We came twice with our teams' families. Place can accommodate about 35-40. read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots. Everything on the menu is crafted with care and with the best ingredients. The Reuben Egg & Cheese is amazing and not to be missed. The pancakes are also incredible and served with real maple syrup. Most people might overlook or miss this place because it's in a strip mall but it is without a doubt the best breakfast place in the area. read more

Would eat here every day if I could! I went here on the recommendation of a local bed and breakfast owner (B&B owners typically has the best info on the local restaurants, BTW) I just had the most amazing chicken salad wrap! The taste combo of bacon, cheddar cheese and chicken salad with a touch of garlic...wow...well done! read more

Went here for lunch and breakfast. both meals were really good, tasty. Staff was friendly and efficient, they were even kind enough to give me a free coffee refill on a solid dark roast. Taking off one star because the place could be a little cleaner, in particular by where the bus tray/garbage can is back by kitchen entrance. read more

Just driving to cooperstown. Small basic place. Give order at counter and waitress brings it to you. My 32 year old son stated best breakfast sandwich ever. He said in los angeles where he lives he would pay triple and not be as good! read more

We waited about an hour for our food, with no check-ins, no water refills, and no acknowledgment of the delay, even though our server walked past our table multiple times. At one point, I had to get up and find someone to talk to. I asked a man near the front for a manager, explained we had been waiting an hour, and pointed out our table. No one ever came over afterward to follow up. We were later told there was a large party, which is understandable--but that's not something customers or servers can control. A simple check-in or acknowledgment would have made a big difference. Instead, we were told we "should have said something," despite no one coming to the table. At the end, we waited again for the check, and when my daughter calmly tried to explain our frustration, the server spoke over her and said, "I'm almost 50--I've been doing this since I was 17," which came across as rude and unprofessional. The food was good, but the lack of communication, attentiveness, and management involvement made this a disappointing experience.

But he did it for us and not only were there zero mistakes, everything came out at the same time. The wholes staff, (I think four people) were great and so friendly. The food was also great. Not going to say it was like nothing I've ever had but it was great pub food. Reasonable pricing, clean place, friendly service and great food. Five stars and I highly recommend it!!!

My pickle fries came out first since they were an app and I can tell you two things about them...the portion was huge and they were absolutely the best I've ever had! Not long afterward, my burger arrived and that was really tasty as well. I opted to bring the rest of my pickles home and I can tell you that even the next day, with the help of the air fryer, they were still tasting great! I am so glad I stayed!

Unfortunately, it is no longer appreciated for it's greatness as times have changed. As a Resort Guest, I had the breakfast option which was a great choice to enjoy such elite dining on premises. Convenient and top notch. In the times I visited (July 2021) it was trailing to the end of the COVID nightmare (but before Delta) and the buffet was open and full quality was there. About all a guest could notice was the diligent wearing of masks by staff. The buffet was as good as you can get. Full fruit and Continental options, or hot eggs, meats, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. And eggs/omelets made to order. The only drawback was that I didn't want to over eat to start the day. needed a second stomach. Upon sitting the wait staff gets any drink you need (coffee/juices) as part of my breakfast included price. I was only brought a check at the end for a gratuity. Some uneven service getting to drinks quickly but it wasn't hard to get their attention if needed. There is a fancy dining room (I dropped a couple of photos) and a nice outdoor patio facing the lake. The outdoor seemed to fill up first albeit the weather was near perfect so can't blame. A point of confusion was logistics and dress code. Upon check in, the desk clerk let me know where it was and strongly advised a reservation and let me know it was fine dining and dress code was appreciated. Not knowing what time I wanted to eat I called late and no answer. I called restaurant services when I woke up and was forwarded to the casual dinner restaurant. I called the desk and had them transfer me, same as just calling, forwarded to casual not answered. No worry, I arrived and they had the guests on a list and it wasn't crowded enough to be an issue. Other thing was dress code. Some things I'd read in the literature was no sports gear, no hats, etc. Since most of the patrons were at the hotel for recreation (kids baseball tournaments, Hall of Fame, etc.) I didn't think wearing a T-shirt and tennis shoes would be an issue. It wasn't. Just don't wear swimwear. At the time I went it was breakfast only. If and when it opens for dinner do not listen to this advice and discuss with the management. Really nothing wrong here, can't withhold even a star. If you stay here, eat here. If the cost is too much, then find a place in your range but you won't beat the quality. This buffet was as good as it gets.

I ordered the grilled chicken breast with my dinner. Service was excellent. Origins Cafe is careful to use local fresh ingredients like the Shiitake mushrooms that sat atop the delicious ravioli. I decided to take her recommendation and ordered them, along with a Cooley's Handmade Burger with sautéed mushrooms and swiss cheese. My pickle fries came out first since they were an app and I can tell you two things about them...the portion was huge and they were absolutely the best I've ever had! Not long afterward, my burger arrived and that was really tasty as well. I opted to bring the rest of my pickles home and I can tell you that even the next day, with the help of the air fryer, they were still tasting great! I am so glad I stayed!

So much Indian food outside major metropolitan centers in the US is either terribly underflavored, in a sad attempt to level down to provincial palates, or by contrast overspiced, in the equally ridiculous assumption that you convey authenticity via sheer capsicum, that one approaches a place like this warily. And yet what you have here is delicately-calibrated sauces, food in which you can actually taste individual seasonings and savor their interactions, the way it's supposed to be! Samosas are fresh, crunchy crispy crust rather than the doughy glop for which we so frequently settle, and rice is perfectly fluffy. Lunch servings are just the right size - not the gargantuan american portions that let you know how dubious is the quality of the meat (margins can only be maintained on those stupid portion sizes by sacrificing quality). I won't say this place would get 5 stars in London or Chicago but it's well worth your time if you're in Cooperstown instead.
