Jitters is the best coffee shop in the north-of-Anchorage area. It is a quaint, even-keel shop with local Alaskan vibes and flavor (literally). I love the fact that they have local baked goods on the counter for purchase. Clearly their vetting process for baked goods is very thorough because they are always delicious! The coffee here is great, too. They have a decent variety for all different palates, which is great because I like my coffee light and sweet, while my wife likes her's darker and more bitter. Seating is pretty good as far as coffee shops are concerned. There are plenty of tables and chairs throughout, but weekend mornings the shop can get pretty congested...all the more reason to show up early! read more

You can tell this place is loved by both the locals and people visiting. It was packed! But still, everyone was friendly and the service was fast and very prompt with getting our drinks. They have the normal coffee offerings as well as specials--my husband got a more normal drink and I got a special (some kind of lavender latte) and we both liked our drinks. Prompt service and very friendly. They have a little bit of everything for any dietary needs. Bathrooms are clean, and you can carry your coffee over inside to the cool store that has the neatest gifts. You can't explain their inventory-just cool things and not things you see everywhere. Prefect to get a gift for someone. Only con to this place and not their fault, but the outside strip mall parking has a few pot holes that could cause the driver to exclaim some colorful words. read more

Pretty average coffee shop. The gluten free muffins are my highlight of coming here. The coffee isn't Starbucks, so that's a plus. The quality of my beverage varies trip to trip, depending on who's working. The staff is mainly made up of chatty students who seem more interested in gossiping and talking about school than making coffee. That's not to say they aren't friendly- they are super sweet! They always make me feel welcome and ask me about my day. I'm just used to my old cafe, which treated coffee making as an art form. Perhaps I'm just high maintenance. ;) The wireless is spotty, so it's not ideal for doing work, but the music they play is good. I might be biased because I walked in once and heard my wedding song (The Call by Regina Spektor) over the speakers. The atmosphere is warm- there's even a fireplace! I haven't been here when it wasn't crowded, so it seems to be a local favorite. However, that means I occasionally have trouble finding a table near a wall socket and away from the front door. Sometimes I stop in here for local cup of coffee along the main strip in Eagle River. The coffee isn't bad (though I prefer stronger) and the prices are medium-high. The cafe is usually well occupied so finding a spot to relax is sometimes not so relaxing. The food is ok. I like the muffins and an occasional scone. Service is friendly. The artwork on the walls is a draw for me. Sometimes it's a photo contest (e.g, for Bear Paw) or something from local artists. Since moving to Oregon I have yet to find a coffee joint with the same type of fantastic home town customer service and friendliness. I'm not a fan of the breakfast burritos but their soups and sandwiches are great. My FAV coffee is the "Bennie Ben Ben" with almond milk - mmmmmmmmmm thanks for creating it, Ben!!! Jitters is Eagle River's living room. It is warm, friendly and laid back. They also happen to make excellent coffee, roasted by local Alaska coffee legends, the Kaladi Brothers. The jitters blend is very close to Red Goat blend for those who are Kaladi fans and it is a medium roast with a smooth cocoa aftertaste. Their food is average, but this is a coffee shop, not a bistro, so I don't knock them for that. The drive through coffee truck in the parking lot works when you are in a hurry, but if there are more than two cars in line, going inside, where they often have two baristas and a cashier during peak hours is often faster. read more

I am in love with my coffee in the morning. Actually my job required me to get up so early, i was sometimes the first customer in the morning. I would stop there every single morning to get my pick me up just so i could survive the day. I usually ordered something different every time i went. Starbucks was just down the street and i didn't go there not once when i live in E.R. I loved jitters and the memories it gave me. When it was 30 below 0 out, i would just sit inside nest to the fire, read a paper or check my email. Sometimes i ordered a delicious bagel sandwich, but i usually got a scone or some breakfast pastry. God I'm just dreaming about now.
