Upon arriving on our three month pilgrimage to Anchorage, a little familiarity was needed. Enter the Eagle River Starbucks. We met a few great people that were as helpful and friendly as anyplace we've been. The products were as expected and the java spot on. Because their parking lot is smaller they have a challenge with their drive-thru. It's really hard to notice when the staff picks up the pace. All in all a most efficient staff when you consider how young they are. It's a large room with many tables of different sizes and a nice fire place that I hope will be lit this winter. Today, however, we stand in the middle of our first heat wave since arriving. Temperatures soaring into the mid-seventies under a warm sun. This happens to be the coldest spot in town. I think they left the freezer door open. We hid out here for 90 minutes. Luckily, it never got too busy. I see a lot of cafés around town and I will try them all. We stopped here for some coffee on our wonderful trip. As always, I ordered my large tall cup of coffee with my onion bagel and cream cheese. My lovely little lady got the drinks and bagel she like. I was very impressed with this Starbucks. I had quite a bit of online work for a week and this store was used every day for at least four hours. The tables are sturdy, there are many outlets, and the staff is very friendly. I am a little picky with the amount of sweet cream in my beverage and they were always very friendly and accommodating with remaking and/or adjusting the drink. They were always cleaning and the place was well kept. The bathrooms aren't in the store, per se. I initially was thrown off because I came in the front door by the patio. If you come in from the parking lot you'll notice them in a little entry way. I sure do like all the independent coffee shops, but this Starbucks did a great job I am bummed that they charge so much extra for a splash of sweet cream in my iced decaf triple espresso. I like the Starbucks in Eagle River because it is generally not too busy. It is a good alternative to the other shops in town, and it is consistent. There are a lot of tables to sit at - some small and some large - and a cozy fireplace. The Starbucks mobile order app is great to use in a rush if you can stand to get out of your car instead of going through the drive-thru or standing in line! I have not had much interaction with staff; however, my observation is the same as with most staff in Eagle River as it is mostly local kids that goof off. This is ok, normal for a smaller community or sub-community of Anchorage. I would say that my normal drink is not made nearly as good as it is at other locations. But the store is one of the larger ones in the Anchorage area. read more

This is my favorite Starbucks in the Anchorage area. They have the friendliest staff. The line can get kinda long but they work fast. I once had my order messed up from a different starbucks and I didn't realize until I was on the Glenn. I called the Eagle River Starbucks and they made me up a new one. read more

Stop by here a lot of mornings and mostly through the drive thru on the way to work. The lines are usually really quick, even the really long lines have only taken me 5 mins to get through and that is appreciative when rushing. Most of the time my coffee is great, rarely it's too milky or not what I wanted. Customer service is always great. Really, no complaints. read more

Whenever I get coffee for my coworkers, which is usually around 7 different coffees, I order ahead and pick up at this Starbucks because they always get my order right. Coffee always tastes great as well! read more

Went through today and out of 4 drinks only one was right (the pink drink) but had a hair in it. Iced Caramel Machiatto had no ice and was room temperature. Caramel Frappuccino tasted like it had no caramel and looked like there wasn't any as well. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino and Caramel Frappuccino were both over flowing out the top of the lid and all over cups, our hands and the inside of our car. This location is the closest to us and convenient because of the drive thru but we will not be back to waste $40 again. read more

Eagle River shouted against a stand alone Starbucks because of our local coffee shops, but this place is fantastic. Clean, spacious, fast, and friendly like most Starbucks makes the experience warm and inviting. The drive-thru is a long driveway and the exit can be dangerous so be watchful especially if you are crossing the main road to go south. If you order a brownie, ask for it to be warmed. The nice staff will microwave it and it will double in deliciousness. read more

Definitely my least favorite Starbucks. Unfortunately the most convenient for me. Jeff and Cameron both need a class on customer service. Worst part is I think Jeff is a manager. I won't lie and say I won't go here again, but if where I am headed passes Tikahtnu Starbucks I will definitely go there instead. I don't understand why it takes more than 10 min to get a drink (iced green tea without anything in it) when there is no one in the store. C'mon Starbucks! You can do better than this. I come for the service. read more

The store is clean and good size. There is good seating. Nice big windows to see the road and everything going on outside. The coffee I had was not top star for sure. I've had much better other places in eagle river and much better at other Starbucks. Maybe it was the time of day or just that coffee maker. With how many nice little coffee places we have in eagle river I most likely won't be back here at a chain! read more

I love this location! The staff is always friendly, professional and prompt. There is never anyone standing around, someone is always cleaning tables or machines. It's a quiet, cool place to come and do your homework or studying, while also enjoying a drink as you do so. read more

I gotta say, I'm not the biggest Starbucks fan. However in this very limited community it's all I got. We usually rush through the drive through. 98% of the time although order has been written correctly on the cup, the drinks came out wrong. I finally got upset when I got nothing but steamed milk. For $5 a cup I just expect there to be coffee in my coffee. Many of the women are CRANKY and RUDE, rarely a smile and hello (I will say a little possibly not for the other thans if u get where I'm going) Finally checked out Blondies and well gonna stick with the little guys. I'm a hipster and I used to love Starbucks(before it was cool). Lately though it seems like everyone is trying to be cool and go there so I have stopped going. I had an interesting experience yesterday morning at Starbucks. When I went to pay for my coffee the cashier said the car in front of me paid for my bill of $ 6.10and would you like to pay for the car behind me? The bill for the car behind me was $ 15.00 The cashier went onto say that I was the 16 th car that has been " paying it forward" this morning. I ended up paying $10.00 for the car behind me and left feeling taken. I would rather " pay it forward" for someone who really needed it not just the person behind me who could afford to purchase a morning Latte. They forgot to put the espresso in the mocha!! And on top of it, the drink was lukewarm". I didn't notice until I had given her the tip and gotten on the freeway. I called and told them what happened and they said they would make me another but does that replace the time I spent going there, then coming back and the tip and gas money? I went through the drive and they got my order wrong which is normal anywhere. But when I brought it in (being as nice as possible!) they acted like I was an idiot. Repeated what I had ordered and then made the drink wrong. And the second time I had told them it was wrong he got smart with me!!! I wouldn't go in today.
