Can't wait to try all the chili oil and spicy add ins!

Finally tried JINYA and was not disappointed. The gyoza for an appetizer were honestly my favorite part. So flavorful and I feel like I could've eaten 20 more! The spicy chicken ramen was very good. It came with 2 slices of chicken and honestly I could've used 2 more. The flavor was really nice and being able to add a little of the spicy oil on the table was just the trick. I ordered medium spice and it was perfect. The service was also really good and quick. The parking is the most annoying part. The bottom part of the garage is free, but it was full the night we arrived so you go up to the next level and pay a small fee. It's not the easiest to get around/turn around, but at least it's offered. The restaurant itself is small and cozy and they have a full bar as well. It would be great for a date or a nice place to meet with friends. I'll be back for happy hour for sure.

A neat little ramen bar by the Cooper River, special at lunch with a ramen/rice bowl or similar with a soda. Modern space, bar. The Tonkotsu was ok, but very heavy - super rich, fatty broth. Similar heaviness from the Tonkotsu Black (w/black garlic). Chashu in the ramen was too dry, and not fatty enough, tough relative to the ramen chashu I've had before in Japan or NYC. Limited ramen broth choices, but a lot of topping selection possible for an additional fee. Chashu rice bowl was better - the pork less dry and more rich. Comes with a soft boiled egg, too. Parking in the back, ground floor only for 2hr (upper floors cost money), or in the surrounding streets. Not the most convenient entry (one is a single direction entry/exit only). Service was good - server came back with tea and water regularly and kept an eye on our bigger table.

I love Jinya ramen bar for a delicious bowl of ramen. The environment is welcoming and cozy. They have a great selection of ramen, rice dishes, and fun drinks. Only giving it 4/5 stars because my chicken ramen didn't come with chicken on it. I actually didn't even realize until halfway through my bowl I never saw chicken on it.

Went late afternoon and thrilled to find a generous happy hour! Crispy chicken was bomb. Drinks were ok. The bun was delicious and perfectly prepared. Split the ramen as it's huge! Really delicious. The gyoza was amazing. Juicy and soft and crispy at the same time. Not your average. The real star was the service. Super attentive and sweet. Everyone checking in. Will be back to try some more traditional ramen options. A winner!

Things I learned about myself after having lunch here. I don't really care for a big bowl of broth and stuff. So easy to say, ramen is not my jam. I mean it's ok. But I definitely won't seek it out. The restaurant is nicely designed with black and reds. It was super clean and quiet. Our server was great. I told her that I like birria meat and she recommended the special birria bowl. I ordered that minus the raw onions. The birria meat and broth was ok. I enjoyed the cilantro flavor. My networking friend got a spicy chicken ramen and he finished the whole bowl! I had a ton of leftovers, but I didn't end up eating it after taking it home. Like I said, I discovered I don't love ramen. If ramen is your jam, check this place out.

Finally had a chance to try Jinya! Stopped by for a late lunch on Sunday and it wasn't overly busy so was able to be seated right away. Staff were good humored, hospitable, and knowledgeable of menu. Waters were consistently refilled. For cocktails we got the yuzu martini and e tomo drink - both wonderfully presented. They have plenty of appetizers to choose from! From edamame to gyozas..I opted for a house salad while my fiancé got the side chicken. I tried a bite of the chicken thigh and it was nicely marinated and fried. The dressing on the house salad was addicting! Loved it!! For the ramen I got the JINYA Tonkotsu Original 2010 and the noodles were made perfectly. Found the broth to be salty. The sauces on the table were a hit - loved adding the hot, gyoza, and seasoning sauces. They have rewards and birthday program so something to look into if you're in the downtown area often!

Food service is fast, food is great & tasty, items are priced decently fair minus the price for a beer. Lively & busy meaning you'll not be disappointed. Jinya's Ramen is great & recommended. You will definitely leave feel full. Staff is friendly, helpful & fast. Several seating options to choose from. Nice decor inside, bathrooms could use an update

Walked on to Jinya on a Saturday afternoon and had no wait. Service was very good, our server explained the entire menu and listed out some of the best dishes. I was super excited to see they have vegan ramen options using tofu and impossible meat. They also let you sub out the noodles for rice noodles if you need to be gluten free! I had the flying vegan harvest ramen bowl and it was fantastic. It wasn't too spicy, I added some extra spice to it which is available on the table. It was packed with veggies and tofu and impossible meat, the flavor was great. There were a ton of appetizers that also looked really good, I'll have to try them next time. Jinya is definitely a good spot for those craving ramen and a super big plus for vegan and gluten free options!

I had an amazing at JINYA ramen and I am extremely happy that it opened in Charleston. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and had no trouble finding parking and seats in the restaurant right away. Our server was very attentive and explained the entire menu concept and options patiently and recommended the best things to order and not order. I went with the Birria ramen, which is a mix of Ramen with Mexican style beer, soup and beef, it even has Mexican toppings, like cilantro and red onion to complement the flavor. It was delicious and the combination of flavors that I didn't know I needed too bad. It's only seasonal because I could eat this every day of the year. There are so many other options, however that I will be coming back to try them all

This place is the place for me when it comes to all things ramen and noodles!! I can never find a place where I LOVE the ginger dressing on salads and gyozas, but this place has it all. My first time here was absolutely delicious and our waitress Eleanor was so sweet. The service was very efficient and smooth. I got the spicy chicken ramen (spicy level) and it was very yummy. I love spice and it was definitely bearable even if you do not love spice. I paired it with the salad and gyoza combo, very worth it! The ambience is very spacious and ethnically beautiful, loved all the decor!

I really liked the modern Asian feel of this place. It's a little small but we were able to be seated and served quickly. I only have good things to say about the food. I have never eaten ramen out before and I'm not a huge fan of the kind you make at home but this is definitely not that. The broth is really good. I had the jinya tonkatsu black (pork ramen). It had a really good rich flavor. The ramen itself was not curly (just an observation from a first-timer). The menu has a lot of options as far as drinks and there are a lot of diet inclusive options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free etc. our server was pretty knowledgeable about the menu and was able to talk us through our first time. The only thing I will say that I wasn't particularly pleased about was how many items on the menu were not available. I asked about several things on the menu that were just not available. I'm not sure if this was a supply chain issue, a Sunday afternoon issue, or what was going on, but I was disappointed about a few things that were not available. And just a small observation, the floor was quite slippery. I was wearing my tennis shoes and I felt almost like I was ice skating (not a pleasant feeling). I would definitely like to come back again and try more of the options available.

The opening weekend wait was definitely worth it! A small, intimate restaurant with a trendy appeal and creative cocktails. My Tonkotsu Black ramen had the most amazing, buttery smooth pork broth I've ever had. I could sip it all day. All of the contents mixed amazingly well with it including the succulent pork and the not-too-firm or soft noodles. The gyoza had great texture on the searing and thoroughly cooked yet soft exterior. We also started with some rice ball croquettes that had gooey cheese and curry interior mixed with ground chicken . Our wonderful server Reagan gave us a thorough rundown of the menu and how everything worked (in case you were intimidated by your first ramen experience). The general manager, David, also visited our table and informed me of the 3 day process of how the broth was made, which is exclusively made in-house at each location. Great experience overall! Worth your time. Arigatou gozaimasu Jinya!

We got there early because it's first come first serve, but thankfully we got seated fairly quickly. The restaurant is very modern with a gorgeous Asian inspired twist. Our food was delicious!!! We started off with Bao and then went right into the ramen! They have some very unique options that have chicken or shrimp wontons. We loved every single bite! We will be back some point soon to enjoy some more noodles!

Before before getting to the food, the space was inviting and had a lot of cool touches. And the service was great! My wife, youngest, and I shared a number of plates. Some of the first include included the Kinilaw, the Lumpia, and the Laing. The Kinilaw is a yellow tuna dish. The tuna melted in your mouth and the flavors from the coconut-leche dressing, ginger, and jalapeño, as well as the fresh mint, added to the flavor palette. I didn't try the Lumpia because it is skinny spring rolls made with ground pork. My wife and youngest said they were great in really enjoyed the taste. The Laing was a vegetable dish involving creamy brace kale with garlic, ginger, and coconut milk. Of course it sounds different and it was, but in a really good way. Again, the way the flavors worked together was really great. The last dish we got was the Curry. It is grilled red snapper with braised, mung beans, tempura sweet potatoes over coconut red curry sauce and rice. It was so good. Again, the flavors in this dish were amazing. The fish was cooked just right. And the way the dish worked together was a piece of culinary art. They also had cool cocktails, good beers, and even mocktails for our teenager. I sneaked a peak at the menu on FB before the dinner and was dead set on the lobster ramen. After confidently ordering with merely a glance at the menu (my mind was made up in advance), I was promptly notified that the ramen did not contain lobster, but rather was a lobster broth base. I had a brief moment of disappointment, but quickly changed my tune as I realized I was still getting ramen. The ramen came out pretty quickly and I've got to give it up to the guys from 2 Nixons. Ramen is a delicate and complicated dish. To be able to execute it so well in an array of make shift kitchens all around town is pretty impressive. After tasting the lobster broth, I lost any resemblance of disappointment I may have had. In this giant bowl, you could also find the regular suspects of pork confit, a soft boiled egg, pickles, corn, scallions, and mushrooms. Everything was perfect together and I was tempted to get a side order of noodles to keep this dish alive, but honestly I was full after digging to the bottom.

Although the menu is limited (understandably), the dishes themselves are so packed full of flavor and yumminess that it more than makes up for the lack of options. I tried the Okonomiyaki which he did in a waffle iron, and it was so tasty! I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it blew me away. I would best describe it as Japanese comfort food with an American twist (thanks to the waffle iron). It was topped with all sorts of goodies (sorry I don't remember the details right now, but I want to say there was like brussels sprouts and cabbage and bacon (I mean, come on, so good!). The Kimchi Burger was quite a contender as well. A really thick, seasoned beef patty, cooked to a perfect medium rare, oozing with sharp cheddar cheese sauce, homemade pickles and kimchi. I think I may have blacked out for a second after taking my first bite. I know his menu changes often, and you can bet I'll be back to try out some of the ramen in the future!
